It's been 3 months. I'm sorry to write a negative review, but I was just stranded again and had to walk miles home with this thing in tow. Walking with a dead scooter feels disappointing and terrible. In the spring, I got used to it. It could never go 18 miles. I would guess 15 miles max, but the last couple miles would be crawling back on single electrons. The real world has hills and sand and gravel, which significantly impacts every journey. Completely flat pavement is ideal, but I don't live in a city. Uphill, the maximum speed I could achieve was 6 mph. using ECO mode, it might be 4 mph. Downhill, the maximum speed achieved was 19 mph in SPORT mode. Charging to full took over four hours and the maximum runtime was about 40 minutes. I used a combination of both modes while avoiding pedestrians. Since July began and the temperature rose over 80 degrees, the battery fails. It looks like "13" but its really "B." When this happens, the scooter stops, it cannot be ridden and the battery cannot be turned off until it cools down. It does not matter the amount of charge left! I like the deck and the bell.

I started with a lightwheight budget scooter and that got stolen so I moved to this. The scooter is heavy around 40 pounds, double the wheight of my old scooter. which meant for someone who is not heavy took 2 arms to lift unlike the budget scooter that took just one. This scooter is confortable to drive with its suspension, has trouble with driving through hills and does drive seamlessly in the grass thanks to its off-road tires. The scooter is really secure through the app and is most likely not to get stolen IF you lock it through the app.

I give it 3 stars because it really is a nice scooter. I got a flat not even a week and a half into owning it to find out their isn't any videos on how to change the tire without breaking things. What's the point of owning it if you can't maintain it?

this scooter is SUPER speedy. Its good to practice at first, especially if your balance is not that good (*cough cough* me..). do NOT underestimate this bad boy, it will get you no matter where you need to in your town and the charge is pretty decent as well

Not a great scooter if you live in a windy neighborhood. Wheels are not suitable enough for basic hazardous conditions. Once the wheels touch or go over a twig or a tree branch, one of the wheels WILL deflate. You will either have to spend more money to get third party inner tube/wheels because NIU skimped out on them. The advertising "suitable for rough terrain" is a bit misleading, if the wheels cant handle basic hazardous conditions. Otherwise, the turn signals are an alright feature to have. I used them to signal to cars in my neighborhood going to the gym. The controls on the scooter is difficult. No idea why we need an app for basic control functions? Have to do short presses to change settings for your scooter. Whats the point of "pedestrian" mode when E mode is basically the same thing? The app isnt that really great either. Have to turn on location on your phone EVERY time if you want to change settings on your scooter or lock it. Sparks privacy concerns for me Honestly. It doesn't even save settings for kick start, dynamic mode acceleration, and battery charge limit. So you might even overcharge your scooter on accident, since the app is incompetent to relay information to your scooter to save basic settings. The lock feature, while it's nice, i wouldn't solely rely on it all the time. Get a bicycle lock. For speed, going 17 miles all the time isn't recommended if you're going somewhere far. I would recommend using dynamic mode and going 13 miles if your a far daily commenter. You can just E mode going back, its 9 miles though just a warning. Worse case scenario, you'll have to ride it like a classic scooter when the battery reaches 0 percent. Like i said, if you're a commuter to far places, bring your charger with you if possible just in case or use E mode. Either The battery isn't really efficient enough, or the app is incompetent saving basic settings for regenerative braking (forgot to mention.) Not that much differences in the acceleration settings too. The "wild" setting seems like it drains the battery more than it should. Don't like how the scooter is mostly aims towards your gut. If you're a taller adult, (im 5'7 170cm) then this might be more of an issue for you, because the strong regenerative braking settings can pull your body foward slightly, which can be annoying. For The braking itself, be careful because the tires can skid, depending how fast you're going. In fact you can hear them skid, if you're going 15 miles... I've lost my balance and fell of the scooter when i started braking on mud on a sidewalk. Seems like the tires don't grip well enough? I thought this scooter had a phone holder built in. Seems like it doesn't or im not understanding their advertising. Disappointing or I've been mislead... Overall, this scooter NIU 100F, is okay on paper. But there's unfortunate problems that may arise. I don't recommend this scooter, if you live in a hazardous neighborhood(i.e tree branches, twigs, or mud on the sidewalk). This scooter is made for mostly the city, not built for durability in a rural neighborhood. Always try out what you buy on Amazon, and return it when you can; take it from me, and don't really trust what most YouTubers are saying about electric scooters. Ironic i know.
