  • Great for kids, good for adults too!
This would be a terrific game for kids--it's good fun, easy to master, and sneaks in some educational lessons on responsibility. That said, I'm an adult and I like it too! It's a little simplistic, but the puppies are cute and since I live in an apartment where I can't have a real pet, this is a nice alternative. Plus you get to take it for walks without getting off the couch, and all you have to do to clean up its poop is tap it with the stylus! If that's not a perfect pet, what is? The one downside is that if you want your puppy to stay with you, you have to make time to feed and walk and play with it even when your schedule gets busy, but I guess that's good practice for raising a real puppy too. ... show more

  • A Mom's take...Just give in and Buy it already!
My son actually had a "Dogz" and "Catz" game similar to this for our computer some years ago. Very fun...very cute but wow, how far the technology has come in a few short years! First of all, the images are amazing and very crisp and clear. Secondly, he'll play it for hours on end (if I let him) and really seems to be doing something constructive rather than just shooting things and running in circles finding coins. The voice recognition is really genius, he's the only one that can train the dog he's chosen, even if his friends decide they'd like to try the game. It also teaches responsibility before the fact if you are thinking of getting a pet. No...it's not "real life" but it's the coolest virtual thing I've seen in a long time! It's not a bad price as games go, and it really will keep the kids occupied for a long time. I just think it's really neat and hey, it's not annoying like a Furby. ... show more

  • Great to readd this to my DS games collection but..............
I am slowly trying to buy back some of the DS/3DS games I sold awhile back to bolster my collection. I have quite a few empty cases with manuals (when it actually had them) and thus need them refilled. So when I saw this gem and at the price I paid for it of $6.45 plus $3.99 shipping, it was a steal. The delivery was prompt and the game works just fine. The case, manual, and game card are all in great condition. My ONLY issue is that it was not noted in the description from the seller, that this was an alternate case cover. (Otherwise I would have given 5 stars). I placed the original one I had next to what I received in a picture to show the difference. I believe the one I received was from later prints of the game. It is by no means a deal breaker and I will not be seeking a return over that. It just would have been nice to know ahead of time though. If you are into retro games like myself and desire them on physical media like I do, I would say buy a copy of this while the prices are still quite reasonable. ... show more

  • Such a cute game
This is a very fun, somewhat addictive game. It offers several different breeds and the ability to enter a frisbee contest, agility trails, and obedience contests. You can take your dogs for walks and find various items to sell, wear, or play with. You can go to the park while on a walk to meet other dogs or practice for the frisbee contest, you can visit the agility training area, or the discount store for great deals and sometimes items that are only available there. If you have a friend that owns a Nintendogs game, you can enter bark mode, and give each other gifts or just visit each other. There are many toys, accessories, and various miscellaneous items as well. All in all a great game for anyone that loves dogs. ... show more

  • Great game for children
My son is 6 years old, and you can probably tell it was because of the cover with the cute dog. He has been playing game every day. I was supervising him and was very impressed with the game. He was able to go to the game pound and pick some dogs. He has to take care of them, feed them, walk them and even do to the pet store to purchase food, water and toys. It's a great game. The dogs are adorable but I absolutely love the way it helps teach children responsibility with pet. It's not your normal brain sucking game, there is learning involved in pet care. We love it! ... show more

  • Great game for kids and adults
Ordered this for my daughters birthday. Haven’t gotten around to testing it, but it looks great. I’m even thinking of playing this myself and reliving my childhood 😊
