  • Why do we love pokemon the entire life
Yes I got both black2 and white2....I'm stupid, Nintendo take all my money but I still love their games. By the way, my black2 was brought in Japan on the release day.(I'm Chinese and I made my travel plan to Japan base on the pokemon relase day) When I was in a huge line with all Japanese friends holding either a ds/3ds playing pokemon and wait for the new one come out, we start talking about why everyone in the world love pokemon so much. I believe all pokemon fans have been asked the same question, Some people think the game have poor graphics and "naive" game style. They never truly understand what's fun in this game. Usually, I asked them to take a little bit of time and play the game. most people will understand why in short time. Pokemon is just fun! For lite gamer, it has all cute pokemon and you feel relationships with them are real. even beat through the story is fun. If you are hard core gamer, no problem, Pokemon have the most creative, most competitive and most interesting battle system, and the battle tactics has always developed. pokemon is for everyone. Now Let me talk about Black/white2 it is still gen5 of Pokemon series, if you know what that means... It means, it is not a NEW Pokemon game. It is like yellow, you playing on basically the SAME map. but, that story happened two year after black/white, there will be place that you know, but VERY different in details. a lot of ice is going to make secret pass which do not exist in b/w1. And just like it all time: the soundtracks are amazing! This time when you are playing, you can catch old pokemon in the very beginning (if you remember in b/w1 you can only meet new pokemons before you beat N). Of course there are new legendary Pokemons. All of them are awesome. The story, for the reason to not blow the fun, I will not talk about the story. Everyone knows even pokemon game never actually have a big story, the b/w1 still made a lovely story which it much better that the old four generations. characters like N gave me a huge impact... B/W2 have the same stage, so you will enjoy the story just like b/w1. If you are huge pokemon fan and you want to know more pokemon story wise, there is a manga called "Pokemon special" that I huge recommend. some weakness about b/w2: 1: Nintendo decided to make this game still, on the ds. So the graphic dis not improve. Personally, I'm super excited for a new pokemon game on 3DS. Hopefully release next year 2013. 2: They still didn't bring back the following pokemon like heart gold and soul silver did. I do not understand why. 3: The character we used in b/w 1. Did not have huge impact to the story. Overall, B/W2 has all I expect to see, 5 star no question. ... show more

  • A great squeal!!!!
Pokemon white 2 and black 2 are amazing and well made pokemon games. The story is a mix between the original black and white along with new things added. If you played black and white, and you didn't like it(like me)then play white 2 and black 2. They have SO MUCH TO DO!!!! Black and white were awful games. The story and pokemon were terrible. Thankfully, white 2 and black 2 came out. When I played the games,I LOVED IT!!!! What a great game. I played black 2 for like 116 hours!!!! Why? BECAUSE ITS AWESOME!!!! If your a gamer or pokemon fan, this game will satisfy you. So,what's so amazing about this game. Well, you know In black and white all the game really had were dumb unava workmanlike the candle pokemon(yes, candle). And puppy pokemon. In the squeals, old pokemon are able to be obtained. Pokemon like pysduck, riolu, eveve, absol, marepp, and many more!!!! Old pokemon really made fans happy. Also, two new forms are made for kyream. Black form and white form. These forms made the pokemon's stats better. New lendendary pokemon too. Latios and latais, depending on the game. The three regies can also be obtained. Zora, the fox-like pokemon can be obtained without an event. A new team plasma who is after kyream. New towns and dungeons. And a battle area in the city with the ground type gym leader. With to it there is a battle area to battle gym leaders and pokemon trainers. That's ALOT of new things. There are a few more but find out by playing the game!!!! There is no limit by leveling your pokemon. So,if you want super strong pokemon,go to the black tower in black city. There are different floors with different trainers. Some floors have stronger trainers then others. It's tough, but it's a great way to get strong pokemon. One thing also amazing about this game is that you can make moives!!!! It's in the city with the second gym leader. There is a studio up north. There, you can act with rental and your pokemon!!!! It's cool to be famous for once....There are all sorts of moives to do. Making it a bunch of fun. Pokemon white 2 and black 2 are one of the best pokemon games in history. Unava has changed so much over 2 years. And there are some good pokemon to raise. If you want a good team then chose either tepig or the otter pokemon.(I can't spell the name). A Dragon type like dragonite or flygon would be useful. A ground/rock type to. Maybe a flying type for speed. Well, you need a good team because there are many annoying trainers. These games are epic and amazing and you should play them. Anyone who hated black and white will love these squeals. Pokemon white 2 and black 2 has a bunch of fun things so play it and enjoy!!!! Also, there is a few things that are changed with the old towns. But,you will find out!!!! Enjoy the game!!!! ... show more

  • Fantastic.
Mild "spoilers' for gameplay/story. For reference I have only played Pokemon Heartgold/ Soulsilver (my all time favorite, fun game/story and it takes a long while to finish), The original fire red and leaf green GBA games, and I briefly played the pokemon pearl ds game though I only played the first few cities before I lost the dang cartridge So I don't recall to much on that one. Anyway, this was a super fun game that I loved. Decent enough story- I enjoyed it. This takes place two years after the events of the first game and I have not played the first white game so some of the story I was not too familiar with but some of the NPC's go over the events so the current story isn't confusing and I caught on to what occurred and how it relates to what is going on now. Some stuff was made easier. Choosing a pokemon to add to your group late in the game is easier. Partly because the wild pokemon are pretty close to the current level of your group and partly because of an item called a lucky egg which boosts experience points for the holder. I seemed to have had this issue in the other games where it was a bit of a pain to get your newest member to be around the same level as the ones you have been raising. Adding a level 28 to a pack of level 35s is not much fun, even with the exp. share... TMs do not go away and are reusable like the HMs. There is a market place in one city where you can pretty much buy MAX REVIVES. They are called revival herbs though. The Pokemart and poke healing center are merged into one. I'm so used to an arrogant rival that I was surprised that your neighbor in this was competitive but ultimately your friend and I enjoyed his little side story against the villains, Team Plasma. As with the other games, there is much to explore after the final battles are done. Tons more to play with and learn and more pokemon to catch. Would recommend. It's not as long as HG/SS but it's worth it to get it. ... show more

  • Best Pokemon Game to Date
Nintendo finally got it right. When pokemon diamond came out several years ago, nintendo showed us better graphics and gameplay that had ever been used on a pokemon game. However, I felt that nintendo failed to capitalize on what truly made the ds special. HeartGold and SoulSilver came next, and I felt that this time, nintendo used the right tech, but missed what consumers wanted. They took a classic game and tried to add little perks that hadn't been there. As a result, you could catch a whopping total of 11 legendaries in the game! That's ridiculous! Then along came Pokemon Black and White. It was a game that I was very skeptical of. After the first Pokemon Games, Red and Blue, the following Pokemon games always had a combination of new and those original 150 Pokemon. 150 NEW pokemon seemed a little odd. But I got it anyway, and it turned out to be the best pokemon game I have ever played. The Unova region was fun and new. And with 100% new pokemon, I was reduced to, "hmmmmm that pokemon looks cool, I think I will catch it." Also, the story was by far the best I had ever played, after all, Team Plasma simply wanted to free pokemon, and how many pokemon trainers do we know have abused their pokemon. Let us count... Then I played Pokemon Black 2. This game again takes place in the Unova region, but this time there are Pokemon from all generations present. I still enjoyed the story, but I found it a bit shallower and not as engaging as Black/White. Still, the game does a nice job of modifying the Unova region enough to keep it new for players who played the original Black/White, and the presence of old pokemon allowed me to easily create a "dream team" with pokemon present from every generation. The only thing I didn't like about the story was the fact that Kyurem takes a huge role, and if you caught Kyurem in Black/White, you will know that Kyurem is a pretty lousy legendary, similar to Heatran in the Diamond/Pearl games. I found that I didn't want to lose the stats and moves that Zekrom had to fuse with Kyurem. But besides from a disappointing mascot, nintendo really has created an amazing game, so definitely check it out. ... show more

  • Great Entry in the series.
Now coming off of Heart Gold/Soul Silver I was somewhat burned out by the franchise (started with Gold/Silver moved back to Red/Blue then went to Fire Red/ Leaf Green then to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum skipped Black/White 1). However, decided to give this game a shot and did not regret it. It's a refreshing change to the other games, but unfortunately, the story in black/white 2 is lacking. The way it's lacking is that I feel it was rushed. Other than that, that's about the only gripe I can name at this point. Gameplay: It's about what you would expect from the series at this point. Resembles Generation IV but adds new items that changes mechanics a bit so adds more strategy (I assume these changes were implemented in Black/White 1 I can't say at the moment). The AI has been tweaked in this game so it's smarter. Unfortunately, the main story battles are still about brute force with weaknesses. Now, if you want to fight the proper AI, you want to try the features such as the Battle Subway and the World Tournament (new to the series). Unfortunately, you can't access the bulk of the World Tournament until you've cleared the game. I won't spoil what extras become unlocked at that point. If you enjoyed the series in general, you will like the bonus. There are also extra events such as doing a movie shoot and the use of props. They're much like contests in the previous games and are optional (for the most part). Further, you can register your game card to take part on a website that shows you real-time statistics of all the other trainers in the world who are battling trading and etc. You can also get access to "Dream World" that allows you to have more playability. It allows you to also obtain pokemon with special abilities that you would not find in-game. It also will make it easier to find pokemon that are not specific to the Unova region (such as some from Honen, Kanto, Johto and etc). A side note, it seems to have changed some of the features of the C-Gear you get in game as well as customizable skins if you register your cart and take advantage of Dream World. Story: Like I said before, it's a bit rushed. It feels very forgettable. It does make mention of plot of Black and White 1. If you haven't played those games, I suggest you play them first to get a feel as to what is going on. Otherwise, you might be a bit clueless (not enough to ruin the overall story). Again, I don't have much to say about it because it's forgettable. Though not the worst story in the series I've seen thus far. Replayability: Fairly high with the World Tournament and Battle Subway as you can test your skill against smarter AI with pokemon with smarter move-sets. Dream world is a nice addition. There's also a plethora of things you can do once you've cleared the game which you can discover on your own. I just got this game to see what the hoopla for Generation V was all about. Overall, very satisfied. Though play Black and White 1 before you get this game as it will shed a bit more light on the backstory of some of the characters. You, apparently, get a bit of a bonus for playing that then playing B/W2. You won't be disappointed with this entry in the series even if you're fan (even a casual one like me). ... show more

  • It's no Gold and Silver...
I was super excited for the new Pokemon game. Especially after how much better Black and White were than Diamond and Pearl, and how this one seemed to mirror the Gold and Silver formula somewhat (Gold and Silver are hands down my favorite generation). I am fairly disappointed in this attempt at a sequel. What made Gold and Silver so great was how you had so many new places to explore and catch Pokemon before going back to the same old places you knew to see their changes over the years. Here, you start somewhere new...and stay there for so little time it was hardly worth it to have new places at all. There's only three to maybe five new cities tops, and all the rest is basically identical to the first game. Getting some classic Pokemon instead of being limited to the new 150 was nice, and I liked the changes to most of the gyms and the leader's Pokemon, but it wasn't enough to make this quit feeling like I've already played this game once before. Maybe there's more after the Elite Four I haven't gotten to yet to make it all better, but hope looks dim. ... show more

  • Great Game with Tons of Extra Features
I have been playing these games since I was in elementary school and the first one came out. I have skipped a few in between then and now but for the most part I have tried almost every game in the series. Thus far I'm about half way through the game and am enjoying it immensely. The added features are really cool and build a lot more into the story than previous games. The easter eggs related to Black/White are pretty cool too. Graphics - As usual they are pretty par for the course with Pokemon games. The 3D atmosphere is cool but on a DS/3DS playing Pokemon you're not hoping for high definition quality graphics (I assume but hey I could be wrong). Music - I actually like the music from this game. I played Pearl right before starting this one up and was reminded that I was never a fan of the musical compilations they chose for that game. But, I started playing Black 2 with the music on right from the get go so I may be biased here. Story - Excellent so far. I love the references back to the previous games. It's really cool to see those references and to have a chance to continue the story that left off in Black/White. I've actually been waiting a long time for a Pokemon game to do that so this was a welcome addition. Pokedex - I love the larger number of Pokemon available. Also, the Pokedex features are really cool I love being able to see which areas I've already caught and seen all the available Pokemon. I give it five stars. It has kept my attention for weeks now and as someone who can only manage an hour or two every other night or so these games are perfect for me. I would recommend it overall so if you are thinking about getting it go buy it. ... show more
