Description

Product description The first DS chapter of the continuing saga of Nintendo's "collect 'em all" RPG series. Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl offer a number of exciting new features to please both experienced and new Pokemon fans alike. Set in an entirely new region called "Sinnoh," players can choose to begin their adventure as either a boy or girl Pokemon trainer on a path to becoming Pokemon League Champion. The adventure continues as players can bring Pokemon from their Game Boy Advance Pokemon games to Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl using the GBA game slot on their Nintendo DS. As players trade and collect Pokemon to complete their Pokedex in this new challenge, for the first time they'll have the chance to catch new Pokemon, Munchlax and Weavile. They also can play via local wireless with up to eight other trainers while new moves and abilities deepen strategy. Pokemon Pearl is a traditional Pokemon RPG that takes place in a region called Sinnoh. In the Sinnoh region, there are two Pokemon that symbolize the region. They appear in the Sinnoh reigon's myths and old folklore. One is called Dialga, and is said to have the power to control time. The other is called Palkia, who is said to have the ability to distort space. The sinister organization called Team Galaxy is trying to rule the region by utilizing these two Pokemon's power. During your adventure to complete your Pokedex and become the Champion, these two Pokemon, and Team Galaxy, will intertwine into the story and lead you on a fantastic journey across the Sinnoh region. When you set off on your travels, you'll be able to play as either a boy or girl Trainer. You will also utilize the DS's dual slots to transfer Pokemon from the GBA Pokemon games and be able to link up with Pokemon Ranger to access more special content. Pokemon fans have caught glimpses of Mime Jr., Lucario, Munchlax and Weavile in Pokemon movies, and these Pokemon will be debuting in this adventure.

  • Pokemon Pearl--Fun for more than One!
Pearl is the latest installment in the Pokemon Franchise. It isn't as bad as the previous ones and has more to look forward to and tons of extras. There are many 'apps' to obtain, from a berry app that lets you know your berries are ripe, to a step counter and even one that lets you view how your pokemon are in the daycare center. At least you can obtain many different kind of berries for free, from 3 people in 3 different towns. The graphics are not much better, but more so than previous games. It is fun to use the stylus to battle, find items in your 'bag' and the like. At least on the bottom screen, one can 'click' on the 'bag' where said item is. That is a good improvement over the other way. I am very dissappointed with the "Safari Zone" or more properly put "Safari Swamp"--thats right a swamp. Very hard to move around in it as you often get trapped up to your nose in a 'pit' and not many rare pokemon in it as well. At least money isn't a problem, as there is a dueling pair that have a "Chatot" and a "Roselia". With "luck Incense" or "Amulet Coin" on one of your Pokemon, one can literally rack up 24k each time you battle both. There are an occasion, walking through walls glitches, especially when coming out of the rooms from trading, chatting, etc., in the poke centers. Between raising pokemon, the water starter is pitiful and remains so, berries, making poffins (stirring a pot!!!) and having a single bike that can do the work of 2, I find this game very entertaining. I caught a shiny Spinx on my first go out in the grass!! ... show more

  • Genuine card and case, cert of authenticity as well
It all looks really good. The case and the cover look good, it has the usual wear on it over the years, no cuts, scratches or tearing. The manual looks good too. The game card is in good shape, all my DS' read it and play it. No major scratches to the card, label has no fading or significant damage but it does have impressed line marks from something but thats okay due to it being 12 years old. Now I have a Pokémon Pearl (w/case) to go with my Pokémon Diamond that I've had since release. I keep all my cases too so I'm real glad this came with one since most people get rid of theirs or lose them or maybe even break. It also came with a certificate of authenticity too, I know there are fakes out there but if you know what to look for you can tell when something is a fake especially if you own/owned a genuine copy or its companion version, like Diamond. Usually the first thing you'll see is the label is suspicious. Its good that the seller puts that much assurance in their merchandise. ... show more

  • Great buy
Got product in a timely fashion & worth my price & I tested product first had a few errors at beginning but I think that might be the ds’s problem not product unsure regardless of the fact product works just fine & dandy

  • Can you really catch them all?!
My teenager & I are both Pokeholics. We have done our best in this newest version to "catch them all" and thank heavens we have all the poke games that came before with the exception of one (Pokemon Rangers). This game has been very flexible and fun to play. It really can be fun for all ages. My only wish is that there would be more special events by Nintendo/Pokemon in order to catch pokemon like Manaphy, since a lot of people can't make it to New York City or missed the 3 hour event they sponsored at a toy store (and those are the only other ways other than completing Pokemon Ranger that you will be able to get Manaphy). This game provides many hours of entertainment for those who enjoy playing and the added GTS, and underground playtime are unique great fun touches as well. ... show more

  • Bought a fake from amazon warehouse deals
When it was sent to me I got diamond instead of pearl as my first issue. Then as I looked closer months later things started to make sense. When I first got it I inserted it into my dsi and it didn't read blew on it gave it a try worked but crashed at random points Put it in my 3ds and worked. As I would look as the cartridge it's plastic was a slightly different color then normal ds carts and the pins were not shiny and looked more silver than gold but a tint of yellow to them. The printing of the sticker was terrible and blurry but my camera is not that good to begin with you would have to see in person. The back of the ds has serial numbers but a way darker color than my pokemon platinum. The worst part is I bought it from "amazon's warehouse deals" as much as I hate seeing a world being fake (as I hate deleting save files due to in my eyes erasing the world) As you will see in the pictures the one on the left is the diamond I got even though I ordered pearl. As I hate fighting with customer support I thought complaining about the wrong version was stupid. Make sure you buy from a normal seller with high good number ratings. Because amazon warehouse deals are like the back part of the rejects (or so i've seen) I urge you to be careful from buying the warehouse deals. (also the contacts of the left cartridge (the fake one as I was mentioning) isn't shining along with the numbers crossing over the plastic. As you can see the label over the cartridge is pixelated. And one last thing make sure you check it completely you cant always trust it even if its from amazon them self. And not to mention pay attention to build quality. (on the multi cartridge picture the left one is fake and the right one is ds game in this case dawn of discovery) ... show more
