Uses standard grounds or K-cups. There are some parts to switch out when going from one mode to the other -- but if you want flexibility, this unit is pretty cool. We like the bigger carafe that this one uses. Instead of a leaky spring loaded drip funnel, this unit has a lever you open and close to take the carafe/pot away for a sec -- no more drips down to the heating pad! The keep warm feature has an adjustable timer. Nice appliance!!

Background: My last coffeemaker was a Ninja DualBrew Pro CFP300 Series. It was great, did ALL the things! Until it lost its little circuit board mind, and just repeatedly wanted to go into a cleaning cycle, not making coffee at all. It was less than 2 years old... :'( Not only was it out of the 1 year warranty, when I called Ninja, they wanted to sell me another base. I swore I'd never buy another Ninja product. And yet, here I am lol. I looked and looked. Every candidate had something lacking, or something I didn't like, and there was no way I would invest what I did in the old Ninja again. A few weeks ago, I stayed with my niece in an AirB&B that had a brand new CFP101 model. It is slightly different than my old one, and didn't have quite as many bells and whistles, but I liked it fine. TBH, it had the bells and whistles I actually use all the time anyway - the only thing I also used a lot also was the hot water dispenser. This new one doesn't have a dedicated dispenser, but that's not a deal breaker for me, can work around it. Sooo I rolled the dice and grabbed this one - so far, I love it! Everything works, it makes great coffee. The only thing I'm not wild about is, that the little holder on the back for the pod adapter makes the machine stick out further on the counter than I like, with the adapter in it. I just popped off the adapter holder and adapter and put them in the drawer under the machine lol. So, if you stuck with me this far, here's my advice. Get. The. Warranty.!!! I've dealt with Asurion before, and for $22, expect to have a working coffeemaker for the next 3 years! Could have done 4 years, but figured after 3, I'll probably be ready for a different model anyway!

This is my favorite coffee maker I’ve ever had, it looks great brews it hot and cold and fast as well. Would highly recommend to anyone that likes to have the option of k cup or a full pot of coffee.

Leaked from top, water would flow all over when the stream should be straight. Also if you put coffee in the water wouldn’t even hit the coffee. If I could give 0 stars I would! So disappointed.

Buyer beware! This is a refurbished model. I discovered this only after the product arrived and returning to the app page and scrolling through the page to find the description. IMO Amazon should do more to declutter the pages, leave recommendations of other products at the bottom and put important information such as a product being refurbished in the title of the page especially if it is being advertised right next to brand new products. With that said on to the review. Despite being a little dirty (the back where the fold out cup/ mug shelf had some splash spots probably due to testing the unit) the unit was overall clean, even the carafe looks like it was never used. There was a small dent on the side of the unit and the logo was scuffed and the reservoir has some scratches. Packaging was the bare minimum so it’s hard to say if the damage was from shipping or from the previous owner. Functionally it operates well. I’ve tried the pod settings on rich and cold brew. Both settings were quick to brew and I have found the results satisfactory. I have yet to try the carafe settings, warming plate, or the delay brew function. I do wish the markings on the reservoir were on the left side because if you’re holding it by the handle your hand blocks the markings. Overall I’m currently satisfied with the product though I do feel a bit scammed by the whole refurbished situation.

A bit complicated at first, but after a small learning curve coffee maker works very well. It pours correctly (big problem with old coffee pot, honestly humankind figured out pouring spouts 10,000 years ago) so A+ in function and coffee quality
