This backpack is awesome for my needs. I use it for hiking, going to the gym, and going to work. Its light-weight, durable, and extremely affordable. There are many compartments for all sorts of different items I need to carry, including a couple that I didnt even discover until months after purchase. The first one lasted me a few years before one or two of the zippers started acting up. At the price point, I was pretty happy about that lifespan. I was pleasantly surprised that, instead of being 100% identical, one of the compartments had an extra zipper that made that pocket so much more useful. Took this bag on a two week trip. Good size, good amount of space, doesn’t have a very stiff spine in it. The stitching becomes visible once you fill the bag, which looks like it’s about to burst, however, it hasn’t burst. It’s done a good job and for the price it’s about all you can ask for. I’d probably spend a bit more on one that doesn’t look like the stitching isn’t about to give out next time. Just to know it’s dependable. Felt fairly comfortable fully loaded. First, this pack costs roughly $40, so keep that in mind. That said, I've hiked around 50 miles with it and I have to give it a lot of credit. It's comfortable, it's balanced, it holds everything I need it to hold and it seems to have everything all in one bag: - elastic cords down the front, which is great for keeping fleece or rain jacket handy; loops on each side for hiking poles with bungee straps to keep them secured; a very large pocket for a hydration bladder and 2 oversized webbed pockets on each side that hold larger water bottles ; zipper pockets on each side of the waist straps; it has an integrated rain cover; pads running vertically down the back that straddle your spine, and it has plenty of interior pockets for storage. I've hiked in all kinds of weather with it - sun, rain, snow, hot arid climates, hot humid climates, deserts, forests. Between Arizona, Wyoming, Montana, North Carolina, Florida...I've seen it all with this pack and it's taken all of quite well. All that said, this is NOT a high end, technical pack that I would take on a multi-day expedition. However, it you're doing an out-and-back and have to carry a lot of water and "stuff" to be prepared for whatever mother nature can and will throw at you in a day in the mountains, then I'd say this bag will do the trick and no break the bank. ... show more

What is amazing is the day pack feels Lighter when it is on and filled - than when I lift it alone by hand ! Likely due to well thought out and tested fit. Great start ! Many good features for the price - especially when compared to competitors that cost $100 more ! Description is not clear or comprehensive, so let me try to add something useful -- Has Hip belt with (slightly too small pockets). All straps are nicely adjustable. I need shoulder-strap-pockets - but will have to get add-ons from another manufacturer. Has pocket for Hydration which can also be used for a Laptop. I was hoping for 2 separate pockets for water and laptop - but for the price - I'll live with it. Several other pockets internally. One can be used for quickly needed or valuable stuff - but its too small to handle a large wallet and much else. Good zippers. Has a separate water proof bag for wet clothes. Bag is not attached so it can be put in either large main gear pouches. Obligatory Whistle works - but is anemic & doesn't work if you blow too hard. Recommended. ... show more

This backpack is an EXCELLENT value! I wish they came in a 30 or 35L option! The pocket configuration is better than any of the expensive name-brand backpacks I tried out! I used this bag for airplane travel, small hikes, and as a purse/diaper bag combo for daily life with kids for a a year, and then purchased a replacement! It fits fine under major airline seats, but on Southwest it was a stretch and it counted as an overhead item on small budget airlines like Avelo. I’m 5’2” and am able to get it to fit comfortably after wearing for a bit. The hip belt is so comfortable and the hip pockets ACTUALLY fit my iPhone 13 Pro in an Otterbox Defender case, and keep it easy to access without turning the pack around! 🙌🏻 I can’t quite reach the water bottle pockets to get them in and out while wearing, which is disappointing (but comparable to all the other brands I tried). The rain cover works great, and the bag was reasonably waterproof at first, but after about 6 months of frequent use, the waterproof membrane began peeling off inside. Another issue I had with the bag is that the Velcro strap designed to hold a hydration pack was catching on the hem around the zipper (which I didn’t realize), and tore the zipper. There was also some stitching on one of the shoulder straps that was beginning to come undone (I’ve probably been way overloading it). At first I was going to repair it, but then I accidentally left a banana peel in the pocket we use for trash and it got moldy. 🤢 So I just purchased my second backpack! First thing I did this time around was connect that Velcro strap to itself so it won’t tear the zipper again! ... show more
