I have used five or six different portable blenders and neither kill them after a month or so, the blades dull down, or it just quits; no issues with this model.

When this item showed up to review, I didn't think twice and grabbed it. I have a Ninja Bullet I bought a few years ago and I love it for making smoothies at home. The Blast ensures that I can make those same smoothies when I travel. The set up is super simple. I actually charged mine on my docking station while working. After an hour, it was ready to go. Milk, bananas, peanut butter, cocoa powder and ice and 90 seconds later, I had breakfast! Press and release on the start/stop button when it's purple and you can walk away and come back to a perfectly blended concoction. It can't be any simpler to use, in my opinion. I have weak wrists, so removing the vessel from the base is a bit of a challenge, but since i've been using it at home, it's not that big a deal. I'll work on that - but it means you don't have to worry about it accidentally detaching! Once you do, there's a handy-dandy blade cover if you're packing it for travel (like me in a couple of weeks). In looking at the paperwork, I realized that I've been making my vinaigrettes wrong for ages, because I've been mixing them in a regular bowl - I need to make it in the Blast to ensure everything is well-blended. I don't know about you, but I can't eat right after waking up. I need an hour or so to be able to avoid an upset stomach. If you're the typle that does morning workouts, I think this is perfect for you to take with you and make smoothies at work afterwards. My lament with most blenders prior to owning these Ninjas is that I kill them in a couple of years because they don't like crushing ice. The quality of the Blast is actually a bit nicer than my Bullet, so I suspect I'll be using this for years. Brilliant product, great execution. Heck, I now see making frozen daquiris at the beach in my future, thanks to this lovely portable blender!

Would give it 5 stars except that it came with only one base cup for the 2 vessels. How are 2 people supposed to use the cups if there's just one base cup? It's a pain to dirty up a third cup. If there's 2 vessels, then there should be 2 base cups. Other than that, it works well in our camper.

The media could not be loaded. I give this Ninja portable blender 5-stars based on performance ... whether it's suitable for everyone's needs is a question. First, the power ... for a battery powered blender, this little guy chews through frozen fruit and ice quickly. I did have a few small chunks of mango in my smoothie, but nothing more than I normally get with my Ninja Nutri-Blender. So far, I have made 10+ blended drinks without having to recharge the battery which is surprising. Next, the noise level ... I wish all my Ninja blenders (I have the Nutri-Blender and the Pro-Plus blender, and then we have the Mega Kitchen bundle at our mountain retreat) were this quiet. You won't be blending in a movie theater or at a funeral, but you can definitely have a conversation while this is running (and it won't make your teeth rattle). Finally, portability ... that's where the Ninja Blast shines compared to corded blenders. The blending cups are smaller, so the cups are truly single serve - but that's perfect for my intended use. We received our Ninja Blast right before we went to the beach for spring break, which was divine intervention. I'm not a big drinker, and certainly not in the hot sun ... but a fruity cocktail every now and then is nice to enjoy on the beach. With this blender we were able to blend fresh drinks right on the beach (we have a beach setup that includes a side table so were able to avoid getting sand all over the blender). We also do a fair amount of car camping throughout the year, so are excited to be able to make smoothies and blended drinks during a weekend camping trip. The portability, though, may make this small blender unnecessary for regular home use. At $80 (at the time of this review), Ninja makes bigger capacity (and higher powered) units with more flexibility of use, so if I'm shopping for a blender to use at home I'd probably pass this mini blender by. But as I noted, my family will use this quite a bit due to our lifestyle so it's a great addition to our kitchen gadgets. The only complaint I have is that the kit only includes one base cap - when I blend a drink, I can flip the cup upside down (the lid is water/air tight ... I tested it) and disconnect the base and attach a base cap. But since the cups are single serve, my wife and I made two separate drinks for ourselves. Unfortunately, because there's only one base cap one of us had to keep the blending cup attached to the blending base. I honestly do not understand how anyone at Ninja in the marketing or testing departments did not think to put in an extra base cap in the set ... and apparently you can't buy a base cap on the Ninja website (as of now, maybe they'll add it later).

I’ve always been a fan of ninjas, so when I found this personal sized one I just had to have it. Its portability is awesome and makes blending your favorite creations super easy. It’s also low maintenance and easy cleanup. Let’s not forget how well it works. As long as you don’t over stuff it, it works beautifully. Blending both ice and fruits into a perfect consistency. This mini is perfect for those busy moms who often times forget to feed themselves in the mornings. This literally only takes a few mins and you’ll have your own breakfast ready to go with you to drop the little ones off. This same scenario works with anyone who runs around like a chicken with its head cut off in the morning. And if you want to get technical you could take the whole thing with you to work and blend there!
