We really love that you make the concentrate. And you can control how much sweetness is in it. We found the recipe that it comes with to be way too sweet. But we wondering if the recipe is designed for the yeast ferment versus mixing it with seltzer water.

The kit was fun to make, and our caramelized sugar came out great. The flavor is preference, all the work and we did not like the root beer flavor, was too earthy and did not taste like root beer at all. I let it sit in the refrigerator awhile to see if would improve and it did not. I feel the kit is pricey for what you get and that the flavor of the root beer tea is not close to traditional root beet flavor. It was a fun and expensive project. Will not purchase again.

I love kits where kids can make something "unusual", something that would take me too much time to put together myself (or not put together). The root beer kit fits the bill. My 11 year old and his buddie made it, on their own, and thought that it tasted "pretty good". Successful project!
