The stainless steel self-drilling hex screws are basically plug-and-play for your drill. Pop them in, tighten, and you're done. Feels like the manufacturer read my mind and said, "Let's make this painless." It's very strong. Rock-solid underfoot—no flex, no second-guessing, just confident "this thing isn't going anywhere" vibes. The aluminum grip plates keep boots planted, and those replaceable rubber feet are a nice touch for keeping your tailgate scratch-free. Whole setup feels premium and built to last. Only one tiny observation (and it's more of a quirky design note than a complaint): because the steps narrow as they fold out (standard space-saving ladder logic), the smoothest way down is the same way you went up—backward. Facing forward works if you're feeling adventurous, but backward is noticeably smoother and more stable. It's like the ladder is politely reminding you, "Hey, let's keep this dignified." Once you get the rhythm, it's no big deal—just a little reverse gear on the dismount. Grabbed it on sale for $50. Fifty bucks! I felt like I'd pulled off a heist. Live this. Super easy to install with basic tools. Sure makes it easier for this 65 yo to get inside the bed. With the canopy on I use the canopy for a handhold. With it off the bed rail works great. Best this I’ve bought this year.

I bought and installed this for my 65yo mother-in-law. Installed on a 2000 Ford F-150. Install was easy and straight forward. She is able to operate it and climb in and out of her truck bed as needed. It ads a bit of weight to the tailgate (~8 lbs/3.6 kg) but is manageable. I chose this NiLight Ladder after seeing it on a friends truck. The quality, fit and finish, and attention to detail was like something I would build for myself. Clear instructions for a very easy install. All hardware provided and More. There were extra stainless steel self-tapping screws for both deep or shallow mounting locations. Extra rubber feet included for the ladder base. Nylock nuts that won't come loose and spin off. Nylon washers and extra spaces to keep the mount nice and tight without rattles. Love the black anodized aluminum steps treads for no-slip safety. Can be installed on either side of the gate and is extendable to 42" for higher lifted trucks. Easy 30 second removal with quick release locking pins with no tools needed. Stores nice and tight with a nice wide tie-down strap and buckle. My wife can actually access the bed now without a separate step stool. Excellent addition to our truck. Definitely recommend this one over cheap knock offs. It's been on sale for a couple months making it cheaper than the copy-cats. 2 year warranty too!! Can't go wrong here. ... show more

2019 Silverado Z71, will not work without additional modification as there is no way to mount this securely as the tailgate has cutout and a formed cover made out of a plastic like material. If you reference the pictures you can see the tailgate with the cover removed, the screws do not make contact with solid material. I am going to have to install a flat plate of material so that the ladder has something to mount to. As it is the main mounting plate can not be mounted only two screws have solid mounting, because I need to mount it low enough to clear the latch mechanism for my rolling bed cover. In the description it doesn't say anything about not working for a 2019 Chevy Silverado without modifications to the tailgate. ... show more

Had to return mine , because there is no way to attach to a gen3 Chevrolet Colorado. The tailgate configuration will not work with this or probably any other ladder on the market.

Easy to install. Even young guys say wow I need to do that. I used it for a year and think how simple. For over 65 years how many time I climbed in and out of truck beds, how many times I slipped, pulled muscles etc. Such a simple thing!!!
