  • It's a Nikon lens cap
It's a lens cap which I bought used because a Nikon lens which I also bought used to put on a used Nikon FE that a friend gave me had a generic lens cap and I wanted everything to match up. You don't want to buy a brand name lens cap new if you can help it.

  • Exactly as described and delivered faster than expected.
Exactly as described, meaning it was the lens cap I needed - I was afraid it wouldn't be, as the price was so lower than what the average sellers were asking for. I even thought it was an used item, but it came in a new package! Plus, it arrived a few days than estimated, so I'm really satisfied with everything. ... show more

Product arrived quickly, high quality. I purchased this lens cap for my Nikon L830 which comes with it's own proprietary cap as supplied by Nikon. This center-pinch cap is smaller and I knew it would be. I've got a strap mounted cap-keeper on order and ordered this cap in case the factory supplied side-pinch cap didn't work well. Have not received the cap-keeper yet to test but I will update. Although this center-pinch DSLR cap is smaller it locks in same as the original and does the job it's intended to do. Same unit ordered specifically for my L830 thru Amazon is a rip-off @ $16. Same with the cap keeper, wait for the $3 item from China or pay another $10. Can't speak for any other camera but this lens cap does fit the Nikon L830 and after close examination I can't see how the factory side-pinch cap does a better job. Cleaner finished product but we're talking lens caps. Could've shaved a few bucks and purchased generic 52mm center pinch caps. See pic to compare to your Nikon P&S 52mm cap. It does work and I will update as to how both lens caps work on a strap mount cap-keeper. Slow boat from China is still sailing and for a $10 savings I'm fine with that! ... show more

  • Just a Usable 52mm Nikon Lens Cap
Works fine. Looks like genuine Nikon product. The only issue I have is that it was listed as coming from Japan, but the cap is cleared marked as being made in Thailand. That isnโ€˜t a huge thing for something this simple, but photographers do value Japanese product over those from countries like Thailand and China. Packaging/shipping was good, and product arrived safe and inside itโ€™s own retail plastic bag. ... show more

  • Great Nikon Product, Best Lens Cap Design
This fits the lens that comes with most Nikon kits. If you need a replacement for your Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Nikkor Zoom Lens this is it. The lens ships with D40 and D40x kits (among others) and should include this cap. The easiest way to see which lens cap you need is to look at the number on the back of the cap, which pretty obvious but I almost overlooked it. Mine says LC-52 52mm. If you've lost yours you can measure the front of your lens. Nikon's more common ones are 52mm, 62mm, 72mm, and 77mm, so the only ones you'll have to measure precisely are the 72 & 77's. The cap fits super tight if put on correctly, but sometimes, if I put it on quickly, it doesn't line up right on my lens. Somehow I've managed to make it peel up the inner plastic ring right by the lens where it says AF-S DX Nikkor. The impression it left is of the exact shape of the moving parts on the cap. The lens still works perfectly but I'm really annoyed. I can't take a star for that because this is the best cover I've ever owned, but it should be noted that double checking that it's on all the way is recommended. There is a picture of the damaged lens and back of cap in the "Customer Images" on the product page. :) Amazon's list price is about 15 bucks and there are way cheaper caps out there, but these are really worth it, especially when you've got more expensive glass. Plus they sell for less than half that normally...just be careful with it. ... show more
