So this is my first camera. I wanted something that wouldn't break the bank but I can still get really good photos with. After getting the camera I did want something with a little more zoom so I also got a 70-300 lense and that just makes the camera so much better. The lense it comes with is great for close up pictures and it comes with a wide angle attachment that I'm sure will get tons of use. if your new to using camera look up videos on YouTube about the settings to use and how to get the bed picture. The camera does like to Max the iso in Auto and I found it useful to be in m s or a to really get good pictures. If you use it in Auto just go to settings and set a Max iso to about 6000 and you should be good after that. If your in really dark conditions you could probably raise it up some if you choose. ... show more

I am new to DSLRs and this is my first "serious" camera. While initially intimidated, I gain more and more confidence every time I go out and take pictures with it. I try different options and I find the "guide" and the info buttons really useful for a newbie like me. I bought the camera refurbished, so I hope it lasts. It comes with a 90 day manufacturer warranty, so fingers crossed (3 months doesn't seem like enough time to me, but I couldn't really afford the new one). I like the kit too. It came with a ton of stuff that I can already play around with and it also drew my attention to the needs and care of the lenses and the camera in general (again, a newbie). After having the camera for a week, I realized I needed a smaller case that would actually make it portable for me, so I got a small neoprene case and problem solved. ... show more

Package arrived promptly, along with the advertised filter & lens pack. I did not receive the memory card wallet or USB cable for connecting camera to my computer that usually comes standard with Nikon. So far, everything works fine and there is a 90 limited warranty for reconditioned product.
