I roll my own cigs and noticed I lost a lot of tobacco right into the cigarette case. I tried sealing my cigs manually but seeing as I'm rolling for my wife as well it was tedious to say the least. You can do it your own way but my setup is a regular cookie sheet pan that I place on the coffee table when I get set to roll In the cookie sheet I have a Hawkmatic roller on the right with this little puppy sitting on the left hand side . I keep my tubes on my right, slip a tube on the roller fill the hopper on the Hawkmatic and start rolling. Once I get about 20-30 cigs rolled I use this finisher. It takes maybe 2 seconds per cig and does spit some tobacco out into the cookie sheet ( but that's why it's there to catch all that) when I'm done I just use a brush similar to a makeup brush to recycle the tobacco back into the bag and we're good to go. It is a little noisy but unless you are running the thing for an hour I don't think it's enough to be annoyed about. Takes about 1 minute to finish a pack of cigs and now there's very little tobacco lost in the pack and no hot ashes falling out of the cigarette in my vehicle. Pros - Works great. Not nearly as loud as the videos portray it to be. It must be that that frequency gets picked up really well when filming it. Cons - The machine is ridiculous looking in that it is made out of an oversized electronics "hobby box".

    • Considering this basically has ZERO competition in the market….
It basically does what you want it, but it could be better. I’ll explain what this is doing in a very simple way - where anyone who owns cordless power tools will understand. Picture the chuck on a cordless impact driver - thats basically what the end of this machine looks like, but its slightly larger with a hollow round hole, instead of it being a 1/4” hex shape on an impact driver. Slightly recessed into the “chuck” is a roll pin spanning the diameter inside the hole. Turning the machine on makes the “chuck” with the roll pin inside rotate at high rpm. You insert the tip of your cigarette it will contact the spinning roll pin. Any tobacco hanging out of the cigarette gets cut (there is no sharp edge, it’s literally a round roll pin thats spinning) or just flung out of the tip of the cigarette, and then the paper of the cigarette tube starts to collapse inward on itself, the only way it can really move. Firstly - this thing makes a giant mess. Its literally throwing out small tobacco pieces everywhere. I found an easy way to contain the mess as best as possible - is by using it inside a small cardboard box. If youre sitting at a table, place a small box on its side with the opening facing you. Cut a small hole on the bottom of the box ( the actual bottom of the box will become the back wall of your little work enclosure when you lay the box on its side) and run the power cord through it. With the electric finisher inside the box - the box should now provide you with an enclosed workspace - except for the one side thats facing you. 95% of the tobacco that gets ejected from the machine will now be contained in the box. Along with almost eliminating the mess it would be creating, you can now reclaim those tobacco pieces and throw them back in you tobacco bag when you finish. IMHO - this machine would work better if that roll pin was replaced with sort of paddles that actually folded the paper down onto itself (its hard to explain what I’m thinking, like running a 4 sided wood foster bit in reverse), but seeing as this is like the ONLY electric machine available, is ONLY about $40, and basically accomplishes what you want - its hard to complain. Its just missing the “repeatability” factor, as each cigarette will appear to be “finished” slightly different then others. The good part about the roll pin, is really cant press the cigarette in “too hard” since once it compresses the tobacco in the tip, you just cant push it in any further - like a pencil sharpener the will sharpen a new pencil down to a stub if you kept going.. definitely try the box idea if you get this.. its well worth it. ... show more

These things are great to have! I can't imagine not using this every time I roll. Quickly and easily finishes and close off cigarettes. Protip: make sure you either thump down or pull the carrot top off. Makes the finishing process go faster when you don't have to wait for the finisher to grind down a big carrot top. It's not too loud but the vibration reverberates through tables and trays so I usually hold it up in the air while I use it, makes it a little less bothersome. ... show more
