This is a really cool entry level regular and black and white night vision viewer/camera/camcorder. It comes with a 32gb micro SD and is rechargeable so it is basically ready to go out of the box. Speaking of that, this is done “mid” professionally and would be easily giftable. The screen is clear and easy to read and it has a TON of options in the menu to set it up for a variety of view tasks. It has a built-in digital zoom that works well but doesn’t zoom in really far like most daily devices do…but this has night vision that those daily devices do not offer. The focus is on a mechanical thumb wheel and that makes it fast and easy to focus and I like that the focus was done like that and not buried in a digital menu somewhere. The buttons are in the right spots to control the device when in a natural grip and once I became familiar with what the buttons do it was fairly intuitive to navigate. It comes with a very basic neck strap for carrying around and it also has a 1/4x20 female thread so it will easily attach to a tripod. When zoom is maxed out I found that I need a VERY steady hand, so the tripod mount will come in handy and I really appreciate that it is there. The USB C, SD slot and reset are all under a very good rubber cover that I actually trust to keep water and dust out. It charged up pretty quick out of box and I have not been able to use it to battery empty condition so I cannot speak to battery life but it seems “normal” for this type of electronic device….nothing negative to state and also nothing groundbreaking either. It stated as a 4000mAh. The 2w infrared LED Works really well in the darkness and I was able to easily see into the dark wood from my dark backyard. Perfect for observing anything I wish to see in complete darkness. I like the fact that it records what I am looking at if I choose to record it and I love all the features built into the menus to make adjustments to the image quality and all that. To me it reminded me of a dash cam but way better and with more control and features. Overall I am very happy with what I received and I would recommend it for light duty night vision ability. It is built well but it is not heavy duty and it did not come with any case, cover or protections for the lenses or the screen. It also feels to be made from a decent plastic but not the best plastic. It feels as if it were to drop or hit a rock hard enough that the plastic is the “crispy” type that will crack…but it would take some force to make that happen. It is not bottom shelf quality but it is not top shelf either…its mid. Good entry level or occasional use of a night vision device. I am happy with it and it is perfect for what I needed it for.

Haven't used it much, still learning the full operation. You can definitely see at night with it and the objects I've viewed are easily identified. Good value for the price, lightweight and the battery charges fast. Looking forward to utilizing the full operation.

This item is exactly as described. I think Kids would enjoy it! I bought this for my husband to use at work since he works at night but he didn't want to carry it around while he was working so we opted to give this to our grandson, who loves it.

I ordered this as a leap of faith, as the original product page only showed a close-up photo of the bottom corner of the product. Their marketing folk need some QC help. But, at the low price they asked, it seemed worth a gamble. The page said something like $16 at the time. I've included some photos of the unit since they did not. The unit is fairly typical for low-end digital night vision. Operating the unit takes a little practice, but isn't too bad. It has five levels of digital zoom (0X-5X) but in reality, 0X is really more like 2 or 3X. It's not 1-to-1. That's not a huge problem, as what you want to watch is probably a distance away. The downside to the always-in-zoom is that it's hard to hold the unit still enough by hand. Photos taken with it will be blurry (see photo). It does have a tripod mount on the bottom, so if you're planning to take photos, better have it on a tripod. The night vision works reasonably well. The IR emitter is fairly strong. The night photo included here was at about 25 feet. The emitter is at its limit at around 50 feet. Photos taken at 50' at night will be mostly black, but the view screen still shows details -- albeit dark. Turning the unit on requires a long press on the power button. It comes on in daytime mode. Zoom in and out is via the + and - buttons. There is a manual focus wheel on the side. I do like that this unit has a TF card included and internal batteries, charged via a USB C cable. A little light in the center of the button array glow red while charging, green when charged. This unit won't impress any tactical night vision afficianados, but for casual homeowner use..."Is there a raccoon in my trash bins?"... it's fine.
