The catch: use blue loctite in the thumb screw and screw that is on the top of the dovetail. After a full night of use, the screw came loose and I almost returned it for a replacement thinking something was lost before identifying the problem.

This is a temporary solution. Missed my return widow by a couple days or I would've sent it back because it started loosening up. Cheap Chinese screws they gave me were already damaged so when I tightened them they kept turning. I'll end up fixing it myself. If they used better screws with a little better quality control they would be great. If you buy this, know it's a place holder until you get something better.

I compared this E.T. Dragon J-Arm with an OEM J-Arm and it's the same with no wiggle or looseness. This is the latest version without shutoff contacts. I set up my PVS-14 and it is steady as a rock, save your money and get this J-Arm.

This is an all aluminum PVS 14 mounting arm with a dovetail-style connection that looks externally and dimensionally very close to the famous maker J arm. Subjective visual and tactile quality appears quite high, everything is anodized and fits tightly together with no slop and it mounts up well to a PVS-14. While looking the J-arm over I noticed that the pocket around the thumb-screw has been milled out to accept the electrical contacts for the built in "turn off when flipped up" feature of a PVS 14 but there are neither contacts nor a wiring channel on the arm. So be aware that if this is an important feature to you, it won't work. Period. This has the wilcox dovetail mount, so you'll need a dovetail interface on your helmet mount (tbh they're much nicer than the bayonet style anyway). Also keep in mind that this mount is solid aluminum so it's a good idea to have it connected to something like a breakaway mount that will fail first if you get really hung-up because this arm will not be the failure point. It feels quite robust. The other adjustments work well like flip to each side and they work a little smoother than my current USGI bayonet style breakaway j arm. Aside from the missing electricals (which can be either a complete deal-breaker or a nothing burger depending on your needs), I'm pretty happy with the overall build quality and feel that it's appropriately priced and a decent value for what you're getting (a nicely machined aluminum arm with pivots and a dovetail connector). My particular needs for NVG gear means that I put the majority of my money into the tube itself and I don't need to comply with the Berry amendment for purchasing so that helps here. Buying NVG attachments and all the accessories adds up pretty quick, so based on what I've seen with the quality of this J arm I'll definitely take a look at other solid metal mounting products from this company. Recommended with caveats as noted above.

I am still in the market for the tactical helmet but it is great to have this when that day comes. I plan to use the NV goggles I have to hunt with at night - Hogs mostly My NV did not come with the mount connection but is able to use this one just fine. Overall this is certainly a specialized item but well recommended if you need the item.

Don't understand why my reviews keep getting flagged by Amazon as they don't violate any community guidelines. Anyway, short and sweet. Knockoff Wilcox mount. Geometry is off. Material seems sturdy and lock.up is tight.
