If you are looking for a night light that gives off a great amount of light, this product is for you. I did buy the soft glow one, and it still gives off a lot of light, but it's soft. The night lights do turn off when there's enough light on or there's enough light coming through your windows. The item is very stylish, and definitely worth the money as you're getting a 2 pack. The media could not be loaded. As a night light, this product does the job impeccably. Placing one in any room or corridor provides the perfect amount of brightness for maneuvering the house in the middle of the night for a bathroom trip or a midnight snack. My household loves it. It’s very impressive to me that it automatically turns off when the overhead lights turn on or when it’s daylight. It also adds positively to the ambiance of the room - it’s inspired me to set up more floor/wall/lamp lighting so we don’t rely on those super bright recessed ceiling lights. The temperature is perfect, warm, and inviting. It makes the house feel like a nice hotel or restaurant. It’s the perfect size, however for some reason I was picturing it to be larger. This red light is just about everything the melatonin-conscious consumer could ever want in a red night light. Beautiful, stylish, elegant, and truly red. For years I settled for ugly red night light plug-ins, because that’s what was available and I was just happy to protect my circadian rhythm at any cost. But with these you can have your cake and eat it too, as they say. It’s bright enough to perform most nightly tasks with ease, and thanks to the easy brightness adjustment slider on the side, it can also be dimmed low enough to be kept on all night long without interfering with melatonin production or sleep quality (both conscious and imperceptible). The ambient light sensor allows for effortless transition from day to night (though my only complaint is that the sensor is not highly sensitive, so if you place it in a room without loads of ambient light, it may stay on all day; if this bothers you, it’s an easy fix to turn the slider all the way down so the light turns off, then turn it back up at night when you need it). Another great feature is that, in addition to the sides being impermeable to light (thus creating an indirect lighting source via only the top and bottom of the fixture), the bulb is completely encased behind an opaque cover over the top and bottom openings, allowing for a soothing diffuse light source with no chance of glare for even the most light-sensitive beings among us (of which I happen to be one). Finally, I love that the bulb itself is red while the outer encasement is black and white, allowing this fixture to compliment almost any decor without tipping visitors off that you’re a closet health junkie who’s secretly a red light fanatic. The dusk-to-dawn sensor works like a charm, turning on automatically as it gets dark and off again in the morning – one less thing to think about. What I really appreciate is the adjustable brightness; the soft white 3000K light is gentle on the eyes, but being able to dial it up or down from 0 to 100 lumens is super handy depending on the location.
