The battery life depends on usage, model, and environment. Power is drawn from the Nextbase Click&Go mount while the car is on, but the battery activates during downtime or accidents. Inactive direct power triggers Intelligent Parking mode, conserving battery for G sensor surveillance for up to 2.5 weeks. If an event occurs, the battery wakes the Nextbase camera, capable of recording multiple incidents. It's not intended for standalone use like an action cam. Upon removal from direct power, the dash cam enters sleep mode, conserving battery for Intelligent Parking Mode. Adding the hardwire kit extends surveillance using the car’s battery. Do I have to use a Nextbase SD card? Our specially designed SD cards undergo rigorous testing to ensure compatibility and optimal performance. Equipped with wear leveling technology, our SD cards ensure that data is written evenly across the memory cells, enhancing durability and reliability. We recommend regular formatting every 2-3 weeks to further optimize SD card performance. Using non-Nextbase SD cards or neglecting regular formatting may lead to issues such as freezing, recording gaps, failures, or difficulty powering up. Additionally, non-Nextbase SD cards may struggle to cope with the write-speed and constant stress of continuous video recording loops. How does the Dash Cam mount to the windshield? Our dash cams come with a 3M Adhesives sticky pad, which securely attaches the Click&Go Mount to the windshield. Adhesive mounts have all be crash tested for maximum durability and safety, but please be aware that adhesive stickiness may be affected by hot climates. Adhesive mounts offer durability, but please be aware that adhesive stickiness may be affected by hot climates. For best results, ensure your windshield is cleaned and dried using the provided pads before mounting. Suction cups are available for separate purchase.

  • Works well, app is very buggy. The camera and the video is perfect.
I have learned the hard way that drivers, including myself, are very reckless, and inconsiderate to other drivers. Unfortunately I have had four car accidents over the past 6 years, all low speed, non-injury, and I was able to drive off without having the vehicle towed. The worst part; the other drivers, who I believe were at fault, will lie like rugs in order to prevent being punished by their insurance company, and/or try to get my insurance company to pay for the damage to their vehicles by laying the blame solely on me and my vehicle. The first car accident I was recompensed and my vehicle was repaired, that was apparently a fluke, and since then the other drivers lied, did not respond, or their insurance companies flat out denied my claim. I was asked by one of the insurance adjusters if I had video of the accident, and once he explained that some vehicles have built in cameras. Fast forward several years, I opted to buy the earlier model of this nextbase camera, it was (just like this model) very easy to install, the value for the money was pretty decent, and the overall video quality was great. Now, granted the wifi connectivity and the app leaves much to be desired, but with a little perseverance, you can and will connect and be able to upload/download to the camera. The forward facing camera helps with a 130 degree span, ensuring everything is captured that possibly can be seen from the front driver and passenger's seat. I opted to get the wired rear-facing camera, this was integral in one of the accidents, as the other driver stated that I pulled out in front of him and he rear-ended me because he couldn't stop. That statement was quickly nullified when the rear facing video showed that I had pulled on to the street when the other driver was well over a city block. Ultimately I am a big believer in this device, I haven't had any failures, freezing up, turning off nor not turning on. I also purchased the hard wire install kit, and as such, the camera turns on when the key is turner to accessory, and turns off when I turn the car off. The only complaint I have with this camera is the app, and spotty wifi connection. ... show more

  • BEWARE!!!! Non-Official Retailer of NextBase BEWARE!!!!
WARNING!!! Do not buy this product unless the seller is an official retailer of Nextbase. How would you know you might ask? Well you can't and they won't tell you! I purchased this dash cam from Clier Sales on Amazon. It worked for about 7 months. I then it had a malfunction. I contacted Nextbase and they informed me that Clier Sales was not an official retailer for Nextbase and they could not honor the 1 year limited warranty. I was out of luck. I contacted Amazon several times and all they did was send a message to the Clier who kept responding that the 30 day return window had passed and to call the manufacturer. It was like a broken record. The product was decent but what happened was not right. Never got a replacement or any warranty coverage. BEWARE!!!! ... show more

  • Great Dashcam
I've had several Dashcams... all cheap junk. This camera received top reviews by consumer reports.... it beat several cameras costing considerably more. My ONLY complaint is: The installation manual. It is one of those EU pictionary manuals which I hate. One step shows a piece of paper on the dash and a hand turning the lens. Initially I thought the camera required focusing... it took me several minutes of fooling around to realize that turning the polarizing filter eliminated reflections off of items you have on top of the dash of your car... pretty slick feature... except they never mention the purpose of the ring on the front of the camera. This camera is made in UK.... there's no reason for the crappy quick start pictorial. If your selling a product worldwide... provide a manual that Describes what's happening in the pictorial images. A small gripe as it does not affect the camera...which is excellent Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Nice picture, easy to use, costly
I bought this to replace a 422G because the old one gave me trouble with the SD card and it would never connect to my phone. I've had the same thing happen with this one a few times and I bought a different SD card especially made for long-term storage. That has worked better. The 622GW also connects to my phone without and trouble. This is a nice dashcam with many features and great resolution. I only wish it would connect to the cloud for unattended uploads accessible anywhere. It sure costs enough to support that feature. ... show more

  • Best dashcam I've had
I've had quite a few dash cams over the years. I have this one currently in both mine and my wife's vehicles and like it better than all others that I've had. Quality is by far the best of any others I've had, setup is super easy, and most importantly, the app is intuitive and reliable. If an incident happens, and you want to pull the file quickly, reliability and functionality of the app is a big factor. This one delivers on everything for me. ... show more

  • Worthless junk!
This thing is a piece of junk. I've gone through two of these. I replaced the original under an Amazon extended warranty and the second one had the exact same problems as the first. It would unpredictably stop recording and freeze on an image, lose the date/time settings, screen would wash out to white at random times, and not automatically turn off when the car turns off thus draining the battery. Don't waste your money! ... show more

  • Great picture
Works really well. Great features and video. Some issues with the live view functioning on my iPhone with cellular service enabled. In airplane mode it worked fine. Worked flawlessly on my non-cellphone iPad. Downloading clips and viewing them worked fine with cellular service on. Not really sure I would ever need to be viewing the live feed anyway on my phone. ... show more

  • The best if it's class, but needs some minor things to be improved
Like I told, this item can be really considered as one of the best in it's class. But there are couple of things which need to be improved. Like the parking mode. It consumes too much battery resources. It simply drains the battery. And after 2 weeks of keeping this option active, I decided to turn it off for saving a battery. ... show more
