This jump starter works very well and is easy to use. It stores conveniently and holds a charge way longer than a similar product I owned before this that was much bulkier, heavier, and less reliable. Don't bother messing with old-fashioned jumper cables. If you have a car, you need to carry one of these in your trunk and also a small portable air compressor for your tires. And practice using them so you'll be ready when needed. Make sure you check this jump box every few weeks to see if the charge is holding. Mine keeps its charge for months and still shows 4 solid lights indicating a full charge, but I top off the charge now and again anyway just to be sure. I have used this many times when my car battery was failing before I finally got around to buying a new battery. Starts the car right up every time. Just follow the simple directions. ... show more

Purchased NEXPOW Battery Jump Starter to power a go-to telescope. I appreciate the size and battery capacity and am sure it will work better for it's intended purpose of jump starting vehicles. The battery shuts down current if no load is detected, so my telescope does not draw much current continuously so the battery shuts itself off and and I have to boot the telescope and realign. By running a cell phone or camera on the battery the current draw is just enough to keep the juice flowing and telescope on-line. Nice product. ... show more

My vehicle has a phantom battery drain. I’ve had it to several mechanics, but they haven’t been able to identify the problem. I bought the Nexpow after a lot of research to make sure I had a jump starter to prevent me from being stranded, or having to wait an eternity for my roadside service to send help. Used it in the Walmart parking lot, but when I went to separate the cables from the power bank, the cables separated from the casing, and I was left with bare wires. Called the company, and was absolutely blown away! They were quick to respond by sending me a new set of cables to resolve the problem. They also followed up with several emails apologizing for the problem, and letting me know where they were in the stages of processing shipment of the new cables. For me, a positive customer experience goes along way. Any product can have a defect in manufacturing, but how their company deals with resolving the problem can make it or break it when deciding what to buy next time. This company gets five stars for Customerservice in my book. I gave it four stars only because I did have a problem with the cables. ... show more

    • Very powerful, but can be frustrating to use and per Seller, you need an 18W minimum wall charger.

I got two of these units. One for myself and shortly after, one for my Dad. They are amazing little jumpers and very powerful however, there are two things I have/ had an issue with. One, involving both units, the time you have from the time you hook it up to the time you have to turn the key before it goes into safety or whatever its doing is insanely short, like under 3 seconds. So, if you are under your hood, likely you will struggle to get to the key before it shuts off. I have a message into the seller about this as I hoped it was just one of the boxes, but both do it. You then have to unplug the harness out of the box and plug it back in to reset it. Its very annoying. So its 5 stars when you can do it by yourself, 2 when you cant and need to find help! The second issue I had was charging. I was jumping a friends 4 cyl. inboard boat and the charger got really hot and died on us, and rather quickly. We jumped it 5 or 6 times within 10 minutes, starting with a fully charged box from the night before. Two days later I still could not get the charger to charge. Only the first light would flash out of the 4 and it would never get to the 2nd light showing its in the process of charging. I contacted the seller and they recommended a larger 18W charger. I was using a 12W. I also tried a 5W. I thought, no way this is not the problem, but it was. So, be sure you have at least an 18W wall charger to go with it. I charged mine 4 or 5 times on the 12 without issue, but never let it completely die as I did the last time. If it had more time from hook up to start I'd give it 5 stars. And, I wish you could use it without a battery, like to trim an outboard up on a boat that has no battery in it. ALSO, if the battery is really dead, it will not power anything either to give you accessory power, instead It immediately shuts off. But, Overall it is a great little charger. Crazy amount of power! This has been a life-saver. There have been three times where coworkers or friends have needed a jump and this portable battery pack has come to their rescue. Super simply operation and a small case that fits perfectly in the trunk compartment. Charge up is a little slow but that hasnt been an issue. Since this is a l-ion battery, charge it up ever month to keep the battery healthy and to guarantee you have proper charge. L-ion batteries discharge over time, it's good practice to perform monthly charging to ensure this powerpack is ready for you when you need it.
