The instructions setting up the water spike was easy to follow. The drip frequency was a little challenging. I setup one 500ml bottle half full in a hanging basket over the night to see how long it would take to empty the bottle, well the bottle was empty by early morning. Needless to say I need to scale back quite a bit on the drip process, but the water spike seems to work for my needs.

I got these self-watering spikes to help keep my plants hydrated while I am away traveling or busy working long hours, and these plant watering spikes come in a pack of 12, which was good enough to cover most of the areas with plants and flowers in my backyard. They have an adjustable valve to control the water flow, so the water and the vitamins that I add once a week in the bottles go straight to the roots. The spikes can provide water for my plants continuously for an entire week, which is very convenient, and I appreciate. I have been using these spikes for a couple of weeks now, and they’ve made a positive difference in my garden, because my flowers and plants look much better. Therefore, I am quite pleased with these self-watering spikes because my plants and flowers are constant receiving a steady supply of water and vitamins, even when I am not around to take care of them.

Setting up the spikes was straightforward. Simply insert the spike into the soil and attach a water bottle on top. The slow-release control valve is a fantastic feature. It allows me to regulate the water flow, so my plants get just the right amount of hydration. I used these spikes during a recent vacation, and they kept my plants hydrated while I was away. No more coming home to wilted plants! The spikes are made from sturdy plastic, which seems like it will last through many uses. With 12 pieces in the pack, it’s a great value for the price. I can cover a significant portion of my garden with one set. They’re especially handy for busy people or those who travel frequently. My plants have never looked better!

Whenever we have a chance to meet with Friends and Family living away from us, we try to take advantage. However, being a plant lover, my wife has stressed over her plants. We have a plant from my mother who passed 14 years ago, and another plant from my sister, as we were celebrating a business opening we were a part of back in 2013. We also have a plant given to us by a dear friend in 2019. These plants have great sentimental value to us. So when we travel, the biggest worry is ensuring the plants are watered. These Spikes are invaluable for these trips. They provide enough water for a week. We have had glass units, but they are very hard to fill and don't hold enough water. These allow for plastic soda or drink bottles to be used. If you also have sentimental plants, get these and come back home to healthy plants. They are absolutely dynamite!

These things don't seal and leak. It's almost impossible to get them to drip uniformly and they're very flimsy. I had 2 of the drip nozzles break while trying to install. Not at all worth your money. Stick with terracotta!

These self watering spikes are exactly what I needed. I have several plants with moss poles and I needed a way to keep the moss moist. They were easy to put together. I cut the bottoms off of water bottles and use them. Having the bottoms off makes it easy to fill. I can fill them up and the water drips out and doesn't flood my plant. I fill them every other day. Since they're outside, the moss dries out quicker so I maintain a steady amount of moistness. They are so easy to use and work like a charm. I appreciate the amount I received. It says 6 but I received more than 6. I actually received 12. Thank goodness I received 12 and not just 6. 3 arrived damaged. 2 were in pieces and one has a black mart at the tip so I threw them away. I have 9 that are in use though. I need 2 more so I'll have to find something else to use. As for the price, it's great. I am very happy with these spikes despite receiving 3 that can't be used & highly recommend.

I transplant my tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, and squash into individual holes in recycled silo plastic laid over my garden to suppress weeds. This has been a watering problem, having to bend down and try to aim the hose nozzle into the hole, especially when the foliage gets bigger. My back can no longer tolerate bending in one position for the time it takes to slowly water several dozen plants. If I just water the whole surface, very little gets where the plants can access it. So, these watering spikes are just the gadget I need. I can speedily walk with the hose from plant to plant to fill all the bottles. Even with the valve open full bore, the water drains into the soil slowly enough to stay close enough to the plant's roots. It's super easy to feed each plant liquid fertilizer through the bottle from time to time. The plastic is quite sturdy. The top of the spike fits securely into water bottles or soda bottles, but is not big enough for larger juice bottles or gallon milk jugs. The spike pushes far enough into the ground to be stable without using the leaning prop. I've encountered two problems. First, the little black gasket inside the flow valve tends to get dislodged, and it's too small for me to reach in and set it straight. So, several of my spikes drip water at the threaded valve. Second, the little outlet pipes like to get blocked with dirt, even though I cleared little tunnels to insert them into. It's easy enough to pull them off and clean them out, but I'd rather not have to dork around with that. If it gets too annoying, I might try surrounding their tunnel with soilless potting mix, which wouldn't cake up like mud. All in all, though, these are a welcome addition to my garden.
