  • Easy coffee reheat without microwave
Works an seconds to warm up a mug of liquid. Easy to use, just place liquid and unit in appropriate mug and plug in. Unplug when sufficiently warm as will boil the heck out of something is short time. Rinse off immediatly in cool water to not have stuff stick to it and cool it down for safety. Cools quicly, but be sure to be safe Take it anywhere you have an outlet. Right size for mugs or bowls of liquid. ... show more

  • Amazing little device!
OMG! I just received this, tested it by heating up a mug of water, and was absolutely amazed at how quickly it boiled. This is going to be my new favorite travel item. On my last business trip the in room coffee maker was so small & weak that it took me forever to get a good hot cup of water for tea and chicken broth. I was determined to find something I could bring on future trips and spent hours researching options. Very happy with this item. It also cooled very quickly as soon as I was done. I also researched the brand to make sure I was buying something safe. ChatGPT steered me to this one. All the stars!!! ⭐️ ✨💫 ... show more

  • Great for heating a mug of water
I’ve had several of these over the years; they are a perfect way to heat a mug of water for coffee or tea, or for any instant meal requiring boiling water. They should not be used to heat anything but water. I use a mug with a slightly thinner wall, so the little clip will fit on the rim. Warning: hang the heater on a hook after removing it, so it won’t melt anything while still hot. If you remove the heater from the water before unplugging it, it will burn out an internal fuse within about 2 seconds. Probably a safety feature to avoid fires, so a good thing, but if it happens, you’ll need to buy a new heater. ... show more

  • So bad
This product is very poor quality. It stopped working in less than a month with normal use. I expected it to last much longer. I do not recommend buying it because it is unreliable and not worth the money.

  • Heats up quickly
I use this heat coil for traveling. I find it very convenient for me. It is light, small and easy to pack, and works great to heat up water on the go. It does get quite hot so you need to be mindful of you placement and the container, so don’t leave it unattended. But for the purpose of the product, I recommend it for heating water quickly. I would like to suggest that it should come with a heatproof carrier and an adapter when traveling in other countries. ... show more

  • Get a Norpro!
Norpro We have used immersion heaters to make tea and coffee for more than forty years; while some brands do fail, we suspect that in the majority of cases, it is often not the immersion heater that is defective but rather the user. That is, if the coil is ALWAYS immersed--covered by water--BEFORE it is plugged in, and left under water for at least fifteen or twenty seconds AFTER unplugging--the coils can function for several years. The Norpro seems to be the best of the bunch; we have three, and they all work fine. (We also have purchased the Lewis N. Clark heater, which took about 10 minutes to barely heat a cup of water.). By contrast, the Norpro heats 1 cup of water in about 2 1/2 minutes, and a 16-ounce mug in about twice that time. While the water immediately surrounding the immersion heater does boil in that time, the rest of the water is 'merely' hot enough to scald one's lips, which is plenty hot enough to make tea, instant coffee, or pour over a bowl of instant noodles. (Never stick the immersion heater into anything but water. Heat the water first; remove the coil; use the scalding water however it may suit your needs.). Note that the plastic 'clip' fits the rim of most 6-8 oz. cups, but rarely fits over the rim of a larger mug. Don't risk electric shock, or ruining the heater, by dropping it into an over-sized mug with water 'over its head'! (However, one can stick a metal skewer in the space between the coils, extend the skewer all the way across the mug's rim, thus suspending the immersion heater at the proper level to heat the water.) Of course, the clip alone works fine with a standard size cup. Norpro is truly an asset 'on the road,' but we rely on their cup heater at home, too! ... show more

  • Fast and efficient
This is replacing a more expensive Lewis and Clark one that although new and working, takes forever to heat up the water. This one is fast and does the job in half the time. I carry a small pouch with me with tea bags and this heater and enjoy a cup whenever I travel wherever I am. Just make sure you don't forget you have it plugged in because it does not turn itself off when the water is boiling and if the water boils away it will melt and that's dangerous! But that's true of all immersion heaters. ... show more
