Update: went to m first embroidery class where I bought my machine. The instructor was a professional seamstress and had an embroidery business outside the shop where I bought my machine. She was contracted to teach the class. After the class she saw me putting up my thread and started asking me questions on where I bought such high quality thread in a nice variety of colors. When I told her Amazon and the price I paid she was absolutely shocked. She told me that was very good thread at an amazing price and took down the information so she could buy some and tell others. Considering this was my first thread purchase as a new user, I'm definitely buying again after getting so many nice comments from expert users! I'm a new embroidery machine user and bought this because it gave me a nice variety of colors to start with. I belong to an embroidery group that meets once a month to do embroidery together and they told me to get rayon because it's shinier and this is polyester but such a good deal I bought it anyway. I took it to my embroidery group yesterday and they were amazed at the quality of the thread and how shiny and pretty it was-they really thought it was rayon. They calculated the cost per spool and said I got a better deal than they have ever gotten on thread and these ladies are experienced embroider machine users. Now they want to buy this thread for their use. I felt good knowing these experts validated this was a great purchase. I liked the fact it is packaged in a nice size box that I can take with me to our group meetings every month and I have every color I need for my projects. I absolutely love this thread set! There are so many colors—honestly every shade I could ever need. The included color guide is super helpful and makes finding the right color quick and easy. After doing extensive online research, I chose this company because of the value bundle they offered, beautiful selection of colors and large bundle of thread for my collection. I needed quite a bit of colors to stitch out these roses and it was perfect. With my experience of 10 years of embroidery I couldn't wait to see the difference in stitching with this new thread. To my amazement , I cannot believe the results that I got with the stitch out. Not a single break, loop, bird nest or shredding while stitching this large rose, pictures tell the real tale. I was able to find all the thread ends all nestled at the top so nicely, I was able to pull it and find the end without trying to search and wasting my time, I was able to continue stitching with ease, it went down seamlessly with lots of sheen and the colors blended so nicely. This rose had 68,000 stitches and the thread was absolutely amazing throughout the entire stitching process. I am very please customer and cannot wait to use this for more projects. The packaging was beautiful with a thread color chart showing the thread colors and name, came with a few thread nets and a few small extras which I love, it felt like Christmas opening this box. Spools are smaller than I expected but as far as durability on embroidery I don’t know. I will have to update that review once I use this which will be soon. Hopefully I will either love it or hate it. So we will see!

This is the second time I have ordered a set of 63 Simthread Brother colors. I have tried other colors from other brands but these are beyond doubt my favourite colors! No matter what color I need, I always tend to find it in this set. It may be hard to see from the picture but the kitchen towel's color is beige. The Simthread color I chose for this project, is so close to the towel. When making monograms on kitchen towels I like to use a single color for that subtle effect. This thread is not dull, nor is it overly shiny. To me it's the golden middle road. I have yet to find a set like this with a better cost to value ratio. I have had one thread snap, otherwise the thread has been holding up very well. It might be the thread I started with were too long and got caught up though, so I wouldn't neccesarily blame the one mistanke on the thread. The cones are easy to set up and use. I normally sew on cotton or stretch fabric, both out of which work well. When doing embroidery on stretch fabric, I use stabilizer both under as well as over the fabric. There is a color chart included in the Package, which is useful if you need to look up a color. Otherwise I myself enjoy the fun of doing the color matching myself. ... show more
