This is a great set of quality embroidery thread! It has many beautiful colors and each cone is labeled with a Robison-Anton Polyester Thread number both on the bottom of the cone and on the plastic wrap covering the thread. The paper labels on the bottom fall off, so it is best to write the number on the bottom of the cone with a permanent marker. The set comes with a color chart but the numbers are standard and there are many cross references online. We have this set of thread through its paces on our Brother PE500 machine. I don't want to jinx myself, but we haven't had one thread from this set break since we started using it. We have embroidered many complex designs including patches we have designed ourselves. My guess would be that most of the people who have complained of breaking thread have problems with their machines or they don't know how to use them. For instance... our machine will not go more than a minute or two without breaking thread if we try to use any fabric without a stabilizer. Changing the tension settings makes no difference.

First Order I got they sent out a damaged box and contents damaged. No idea why a company would do that. The outer box was undamaged. My replacement came in undamaged. I have not used a lot of the threads - just three so far and those three have had no issues with. I am very pleased with the value for the price. I know there are many colors I may never use - but am just beginning and felt the option of many colors was great to start out with and then could buy specific colors as needed. Using in my Brother PE800 and am pleased so far!

All I can say for this price you can not beat this with a stick the quality is awesome I have a Baby Lock Alliance one needle and I got some thread where I bought my machine but it's so expensive for no reason, so I went to Amazon and looked around and seen this one to be honest I thought it was the big spools and it wasn't but I was still happy you get some many colors, you get black and white bobbin thread and a sheet that list all the colors you have I'm new at all this but i'm real familiar with it all I just never gotten my hands dirty until now and it's so much fun P.S. Enjoy

I was a bit sceptical after reading the reviews. I will say that using the stopper actually helped. Let me start off by stating, I had acquired a new machine and needed colors it a wide variety fast. This seemed like the best route to go. I have noticed however the thread is not as strong as say my other brands, and can break in certain situations, leaving me to "babysit" some designs. I could not find a proper converting of thread colors, which has lead me into manually inputting each thread into its own database . (Once again, not horrible, just tedious) Overall I am still glad I purchased this pack.

I haven’t yet used the thread, all I’ve done is unboxed it. The spools are all individually wrapped. Each is labeled with its color number. A list of colors is included. I verified every color listed was included. One spool had an incomplete label, but its identity was easy through process of elimination. At this time they seem a good deal in that the per spool price is considerably cheaper than purchasing similar spools individually off the shelf. When I do start using the threads I will update my comments as appropriate.

I know nothing about thread. I have never embroidered anything before. I recently got a Brother combo sewing and embroidery machine and wanted to try it out. I just sewed for the first time the week prior to getting this thread. I hooked it up, didn't do a thing with the tension (I wouldn't know what to do anyway) and embroidered a built-in pattern on a tee shirt as a test run. Worked without a hitch. The next week I made a Tooth Fairy pillow for my daughter with a pattern I downloaded from the net. Perfect again. If a complete novice such as myself, with absolutely no prior sewing experience (and I'm a guy!) had no problems with this thread, I figure it is pretty forgiving and should work well for anyone, especially if they know what they are doing.

I am new to embroidery, and this is the first machine embroidery thread I’ve ever purchased (for my Brother embroidery machine). I do find it sometimes tricky to find and pull the thread at the very start (as it’s buried under several layers), but with good light and a hand-sewing needle, I can fish it out and pull it through. I do use Sewer’s Aid on these spools, which makes stitching flawless. I plan to buy more of this brand to replenish colors as I run out. -Wife Of
