This is a great set of quality embroidery thread! It has many beautiful colors and each cone is labeled with a Robison-Anton Polyester Thread number both on the bottom of the cone and on the plastic wrap covering the thread. The paper labels on the bottom fall off, so it is best to write the number on the bottom of the cone with a permanent marker. The set comes with a color chart but the numbers are standard and there are many cross references online. We have this set of thread through its paces on our Brother PE500 machine. I don't want to jinx myself, but we haven't had one thread from this set break since we started using it. We have embroidered many complex designs including patches we have designed ourselves. My guess would be that most of the people who have complained of breaking thread have problems with their machines or they don't know how to use them. For instance... our machine will not go more than a minute or two without breaking thread if we try to use any fabric without a stabilizer. Changing the tension settings makes no difference.

I love the colors and quality of these cones, and the value for my money is great. I wish I had bitten the bullet and bought the much bigger set, but I'm new to machine embroidery and didn't know how much I might wider a wider range of color choices, especially for photo embroidery. I highly recommend this brand, which comes with a color conversion chart that includes one of the color chart options on my Brother SE-4000.

Amazon is great-- got my thread in 2 days. This is a great value as there are wonderful colors in this selection of thread. I used a few spools for an extensive embroidery project and not one thread break the entire time. If folks are experiencing thread breakage, then consider slowing down the speed of the design and change the needle. I was impressed by the sheen of the thread [poly vs rayon- $$]. It was a cost-effective purchase which works well in my Husqvarna machine.

All I can say for this price you can not beat this with a stick the quality is awesome I have a Baby Lock Alliance one needle and I got some thread where I bought my machine but it's so expensive for no reason, so I went to Amazon and looked around and seen this one to be honest I thought it was the big spools and it wasn't but I was still happy you get some many colors, you get black and white bobbin thread and a sheet that list all the colors you have I'm new at all this but i'm real familiar with it all I just never gotten my hands dirty until now and it's so much fun P.S. I haven’t yet used the thread, all I’ve done is unboxed it. The spools are all individually wrapped. Each is labeled with its color number. A list of colors is included. I verified every color listed was included. One spool had an incomplete label, but its identity was easy through process of elimination. At this time they seem a good deal in that the per spool price is considerably cheaper than purchasing similar spools individually off the shelf. When I do start using the threads I will update my comments as appropriate.

The thread came well packaged and organized, with a color chart. I love all the colors, and it stitches out really nicely on my Brother NQ1600E embroidery machine. Follow the directions on how to start each spool unwinding, use a thread holder or cup, thread your machine with the presser foot up, and the thread will work well for an embroidery machine. Will buy again when I need more thread.

Great selection of colors. I am brand new to machine embroidery. I am learning on a Pfaff 7570 and have access to lots of written instruction but have not yet taken a class. This is an excellent first set to practice with. I can make pretty much any design because I have nearly every color. I am not trying to match up exact colors by numbers - I look at the colors on the pattern and hold up the threads until I find one I think is similar and that's the one I use. So numbers coming off are not an issue for me. I did follow the advice of others and Mark the numbers but I am finding I have no need of them. I was experiencing thread breakage. I have set my needle tension to 2 for embroidery and I find I have to police how the thread comes off the spool. It sometimes wraps around the post and that causes breakage and I have much better luck sewing slowly - my machine will sew without me having to put my foot on the pedal - very fast - and I find that is when the thread breaks. If I sew manually a bit slower I have much less breakage - almost none. So my suggestions are set your tension much looser and keep your eye on how the thread is coming off the spool and this thread should be great for you. As I use up these colors I will probably start replacing them with premium thread but as a starter set this is really excellent. Especially since I got this on Open Box and free shipping for about $53. The designs look beautiful and I am having tons of fun learning. I dont't think you could possibly beat this price for such a complete set of colors.
