  • Making Reading 10x Better
Digital Storage Capacity: 64 GB Color: Fig Offer Type: Without Kindle Unlimited
I purchased this Kindle scribe because I was dying to have a candle strap that was in color that was like everything I was wishing for and more so once Amazon announce that they were creating a Kindle scribe with color of course I had to get it. I got the Kindle scribe color soft in the color fig, which is my favorite color and I must say I really enjoy it so much. I used to have the original 2024 Kindle scribe and this is a big upgrade compared to that. This new Kindle is so much thinner and faster to me and of course it allows you to write in color as someone who likes to do puzzles such as word search logic grid cryptograms having a Kindle that writes in color makes puzzling so much easier. I also like to doodle and draw, which I can now do in color which also make it so much easier in funner when utilizing the kennel I have red countless stories on this Kindle and I love how the book covers are portrayed of course they might not look exactly like the book, but the colors are very soft and vibrant at the same time. I have not had any problems with any color bleeding or anything crazy like the regular kind color top. This one is really nice. I like the brightness on there the battery last a very long time I feel like with every day use I can use my kennel for a whole week without really having to charge it at all but are you utilize all the features? I love that they have new built in prompt and templates that was something I really enjoyed because the older Kindle subscribed did not have that and this one you can write on yellow legal plate. You can have it already provide the template for you and you don’t have to worry about downloading anything else now the only thing that is different from this Kindle compared to the other Kindle scribe is for some reason my 2024 Kindle scribe allows me to download so many more right on book specially if you got Kindle unlimited compared to this one I feel like this one advertise more books for you to purchase rather been showing you Kindle unlimited write on Books I don’t know that could just be a theory or something that I have to fix but when I start the books on my Kindle subscribe 2024 version I see more Kindle unlimited then I do have to purchase books which I think it’s kind of weird. I really like the new shader tool and highlighting pool. I love that all the colors that it comes with can be blended with the traitor tool so of course when I’m making some art it looks really nice. Of course it’s not like drawn on paper paper, but it’s really nice and blend and it makes for a good picture. All in all. I think if you can afford this Kindle, this would be a great purchase if you’d like to jot notes draw reading color you wanna light Kindle that’s not as heavy as before this would be a perfect Kindle for you. ... show more

  • Just What I Wanted
Digital Storage Capacity: 64 GB Color: Fig Offer Type: Without Kindle Unlimited
I absolutely love this device. I've heard people ask why I didn't just get a tablet. I have a tablet. It's been collecting dust for years. Anyone who's used a tablet and an e-ink device knows that e-ink is made for reading. Some say the colors aren't bright. Well, they're as bright as you'll find on the pages of a comic. I think they're well-suited to the format. If you want an oled tablet, get ready to keep a charging cable on standby. Plus there's color highlighting, notes, long battery life, etc. The absolute best use case for me, though, is technical books--specifically programming books. The large format and ability to take notes make it perfect for the task. I don't need this devoce, but I'm glad I have it. ... show more

  • I absolutely love it!
Digital Storage Capacity: 32 GB Color: Graphite Offer Type: Without Kindle Unlimited
I absolutely love it! I originally bought it just to try it out, thinking I might return it if I didn't like it, but I’ve been inseparable from it since the moment it arrived. While you can’t fully compare a Kindle to physical paper, this is an excellent color e-reader. Here are some of the highlights for me: 1. Seamless Integration: I really love the Google Drive connectivity. It makes it incredibly easy to upload documents or e-books to Drive and then just import them directly onto the Kindle. 2. Increased Reading Time: My overall reading time has definitely gone up, so I highly recommend this device. If you have Kindle Unlimited, it's particularly great for children's picture books; the experience is wonderful and it keeps me engaged. 3. Lightweight and Great Writing Feel: The device itself is very light. The writing experience feels surprisingly close to paper, and I especially enjoy the pencil-writing sensation. It’s also great that you can flip the pen over to use it as an eraser (it reminds me of practicing calligraphy when I was a kid). That said, there are a few areas that could be improved: (a) Consistency: The experience with highlighting seems to vary depending on the file format (like EPUB, PDF, or Markdown). (b) Palm Rejection: Sometimes my right hand triggers the screen while resting on it, causing accidental page turns. (c) Writing Refinement: I think the writing experience could still be tweaked and improved a bit more. Overall, picking up the Kindle Scribe during Prime Day was a fantastic deal! ... show more

  • Great updates to a useful device
Digital Storage Capacity: 64 GB Color: Fig Offer Type: Without Kindle Unlimited
I have used the two previous models of Kindle Scribe and just upgraded to the Colorsoft version. I am a doctoral student and a professor, so I spend a lot of time reading, speaking and note-taking. So far, I am really liking the improvements. The larger screen is great. My favorite feature is the home page that gives me a quick notes page and shows me all of the last documents I have used. The color options are subtle but give me so much more versatility in note-taking. I started using my old Kindle Scribe to give talks recently by exporting word docs to it and that has been awesome. I am already enjoying having OneDrive and GoogleDoc files linked and easy to import. Its saving me lots of time and making the integration more seamless. Two areas that I wish worked a little better: The pen is now so much wider than the body of the device that it can be tricky to hold the Scribe without knocking the pen off. The Scribe needs a faster way to switch between books/pdfs and notes. It would be great if a doc or book could be linked to a specific notebook, especially for those pdfs that do not have the option for a separate notetaking screen like the enhanced books do. It makes it unrealistic to use the Scribe for both reading and notetaking. Overall, I am happy with the updated model and hoping that Amazon keeps on adding to the improvements. ... show more

  • I love this Kindle! Like sex on a first date love!
Digital Storage Capacity: 64 GB Color: Graphite Offer Type: Without Kindle Unlimited
My 15-year-old Kindle Fire died. At first, I was bummed. Now I am so happy because I love this Scribe. It weighs virtually nothing and the screen is so easy on the eyes. The long battery life is a real plus and makes this e-reader truly portable. Set up was a breeze. But the feature that sealed the deal was the ability to take notes within the book. It made me experience the same joy as when I bought my first book and realized it was mine and I could write in it if I wanted. It is pricey, worth it for an avid reader. ... show more

  • Love my Kindle Scribe Colorsoft! Multifunctional and beautiful.
Digital Storage Capacity: 64 GB Color: Graphite Offer Type: Without Kindle Unlimited
Great device! I love writing on this and often doodle on it in different colors while taking notes. I often use the "Refine Handwriting" tool to neaten my handwriting and add space to my notes page. Then I continue taking notes with my giant chicken scratch writing, then refine it again! I've used the checklists, different note paper, and can't wait to keep a planner on here. Since my son often borrows my paperwhite, I have been reading more on this as well, and I must say, I love how I can read for longer before turning the page. I also love how i can customize the display and font. I've already connected to my Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive and imported templates into the scribe. I haven't had a need to export yet but will be testing that out. I also love how many books are available with Kindle Unlimited. I have read several novels, autobiographies and nonfiction books since I received this on December 15th. (I am a voracious reader.) In fact, my son left his paperback at work and is now off for a week, so we looked to see if his book was available on KU, and it is! (Which means, of course, that he is using my paperwhite for the week lol. All good, I have my Scribe Colorsoft!) Even though I would have loved to get the fig color, the graphite is beautiful, too, and I will be keeping it in a case anyway. Looks like i'll need to find a fig-colored case (plant based - it's currently only available in genuine leather). Five stars! I love my new Kindle Scribe Colorsoft and highly recommend it for writing, note-taking, doodling, keeping score in Spades and Backgammon, and, of course, reading. It's also very lightweight and easy to hold (though I am still waiting (im)patiently for a cover with a handle in the back). *Note: While Dark Mode is not yet available (it should be via release in early 2026), you can still read your books in "dark mode" as most books have this as an available option. Super easy setting and looks the same as dark mode reading on my kindle. Pics of some different screens. Family names have been redacted in case they read this :) ... show more

  • I wouldn't buy this for manga or graphic novels; it's tragic really
Digital Storage Capacity: 64 GB Color: Graphite Offer Type: Without Kindle Unlimited
Everything about this experience was bad for me. My nearly $700 64GB Scribe Colorsoft arrived poorly padded in a beat up outer box and the inside box was scuffed as well. I thought, "ok, it's just the outer packaging". I open it up and go to power it on. I'd selected the box for them to set it up so I could skip the initial setup but there I was, staring at the Language select screen followed by Region and finally...... Setup for my account. At this point we're already down to 4 stars max for the bad "out the box" experience by it not being configured as requested. I mean they do offer the option so... I do what it recommends and use the Kindle app on my iPhone (15 Pro) to do the setup. It sees the new Kindle and goes to connect it to WiFi.... It shows every network except my two networks. Even though I'm in the room with the router, the phone is connected to the same network, and I have both 2.4 & 5G bands for it to use. I hit rescan.. 5 times... Nothing. I close the app, re-open it and try again... Nothing. You get no option to continue if your network doesn't show up. I try 4 more times and then my network shows up and I finish setup. Were down to 3.5 stars max because at this point I'm irritated. It was almost $700 after all and I just spend 10 minutes trying to do what they said would be done for me. Finally I go through the settings and set it up like normal and then go to download my books, manga and graphic novels. It seems fast. Until you download something big. I downloaded Vineland Saga Vol.1. It took over 5 minutes on 5G WiFi and I have 900+ Mbps over WiFi in my house. Ok, I think, "Only gotta do that once". Then I go to open it..... Wait for it... Wait for it... It took so long I started counting. After 3 minutes I scrolled the page thinking it had frozen. It hadn't but it was just back to showing me the book. I tapped to open it again and it said "opening" again. Another 3 minutes. Repeat. This time it opened in 1 minute 37 seconds. I try to scroll back to the start of the graphic novel by tapping the top of the screen and then dragging the progress bar to the beginning. It won't let me. At this point were down to 2 stars max. After a dragging forward to the middle of the graphic novel and letting it get me to the page, it then let me drag to the beginning. I download a few manga and Solo Leveling. I open Solo Leveling which worked fine but then when trying to read I could barely make out the images. It's a resolution thing, color and contrast thing. I thought this would be a great device for it but it was very, very bad. There are images with multiple people early on and you honest to goodness can only make out 2 people. I pop open the same page on my iPad Mini 6 and go, "wow. There's like 4 other people in this panel". I go back into Library and look at my Collections. I keep everything in a collection from samples and even split fiction and non-fiction. When you buy a lot of series with 20+ books in them it feels essential for finding what you're looking for. No matter what I did, it would not sort by recent. It kept putting collection that hadn't been read, added to or downloaded from for years at the top. Meanwhile a entire series I just bought and downloaded two days ago was buried in the middle. Yes, I did use sort. I toggled it off and on trying to fix it and it wouldn't. I was determined to keep the first 4 or so collections in alphabetical order. Yeah... Were definitely at no more than 2 stars now. I try to read a black and white manga because that's where it should be 300 PPI right? Contrast kills it. You stare at the page trying to make out what the background art is supposed to be. I was so disappointed at that point. I tried several manga, and these are all manga I bought through Amazon (that's the only way I buy or read manga) 1 star, definitely going to return. I had this out the box and lost all faith in it in less than 3 hours. TLDR; Software isn't ready and features don't work like they should. Bad for color graphic novels with fuzzy images, washed out color and most importantly you really can make out what your looking at well. It's not about if it's pretty, it lacks sufficient contrast for intelligibility. It's an 11 inch screen and I was reading with a squint and it 8 inches from my face trying to make things out. Vineland Saga looked great but basic manga looked bad. There wasn't enough contrast and the more you crank the backlight the worse the contrast gets. I'm returning it, disappointed beyond words. I was so looking forward to this. I will say it was perfectly fine for book that are just text. But at this price point that doesn't make sense for me when I still have (and love) my Oasis. ... show more

  • Premium ereader and note taker for my needs
Digital Storage Capacity: 64 GB Color: Graphite Offer Type: Without Kindle Unlimited
Recently purchased during Prime Day and along with trade-in discount made the purchase of the Colorsoft Scribe more in-line/comparable to other options in the color e-ink note taking space. I had been tempted with android based devices but existing familiarity with my current Kindle Paperwhite, the Amazon 'support' if I had hardware/software issues and the better battery utilization of a Kindle swayed my decision. The Scribe feels like a well built/premium device and I'm enjoying my first week using it primarily for reading and some minimal mark-up on pdf's. I wanted a larger color e-ink reader to aid in reading books and documents with illustrations, graphs and maps and for that it has definitely improved the reading experience. I may also look into reading some graphic novels/comics as the sample I tried looked good on the larger screen of the Scribe in addition to the muted colors of colorsoft giving it a retro comic feel. As others have mentioned the downside of the color e-ink screen is its darker than regular e-ink display and I found that the light is needed which does impact the battery utilization. Overall I'm very happy with the Scribe at the price point I got it and look forward to many years of using it in conjunction with my Paperwhite when a usage situation favors the smaller form factor. Will update in future if I run into any issues. ... show more
