    • Unbeleivingly fast!
Size: Satellite, up to 3,300 sq. ft.
Yes, this is a lot of cash. I have always been a hard wire ethernet freak. I have an older Orbi that has been totally reliable, but we are moving into a large home with only one ethernet wire available. I have Spectrum one gig service and the Orbi 7 posts 1.2 gig on my wireless devices. The main receiver penetrates walls and ceilings. I have two satellites that post the same speeds. In this case you really do get what you pay for. Netgear technology is really sky high with this mesh system. No more running wired internet, I am now sold on wireless and never thought I would say that! Yes the cost is also sky high, but I think it will be future proof for a decade, at least. ... show more

    • Trash - literal trash.
Size: Satellite, up to 3,300 sq. ft.
A nightmare. Just the base station worked. Impossible to figure out. So cheap that they don’t include a link integrity light. User interface literally has no idea what is connected and if the satellites are functioning. Wasted enormous amount of time and money on this crappy system. Bought $100 mesh routers from another company, and they work perfectly. I ended up throwing this trash system away. ... show more

    • The Best WiFi!!
Size: Satellite, up to 3,300 sq. ft.
I previously used the Orbi-Pro WiFi 5 mesh system which at the time was the best available. I found the network 'reach' was not the best in my property at times so had to add more satellites, I was happy for some time achieving 300-400Mb speeds over WiFi with my 500Mb service from Spectrum. Upgrading to the Orbi 970 system has been a game-changer. I'm now down to only 4 satellites (required as I have 3 locations that require RJ45 connection) and I'm seeing regular WiFi speeds in the 600-700Mb range. I have not upgraded my service to anything faster; I believe Spectrum now class it as 600Mb but I'm seeing speeds in excess of that which I'm extremely happy with. I'd recommend this system to anyone with a device heavy home; I have 3 adults living here and regularly over 80 devices connected without issue. ... show more

    • Downgraded System Compared to Previous Versions
Size: Satellite, up to 3,300 sq. ft.
You would think for the money this would be amazing. I was upgrading my existing Orbi RBR50 system with 5 units. I purchased the set of three and then two more of these satellites. A literal 1:1 swap on satellite location. I experienced improvements in the 5g speeds and able to use WIFI 6&7 on the hard-wired locations, but otherwise, everything else was less signal strength and seemed to constantly fight for a stable connection. 2.4Ghz struggled. Another thing that surprised me, the interface was exactly the same as my 10 year old Orbi RBR50 system. Only differences was the severely limited options. My old system has another 10-15 more WIFI tuning options. You cannot toggle daisy chaining, you cannot tune it. They dumbed down the interface to the point that either it works and you are happy or if you need more tuning, you are stuck with accepting poor reliability. Still, very surprised I did not get the same stability between satellites, constantly dropping their connection or trying to re-sync the topology. Needless to say I reverted back to my old system and returned it. Old system fired back up and resumed its solid connectivity. Never buying a Netgear mesh system again, especially after the eye-watering price of five units and the ten years they had to make it better and failed. What a shame. ... show more

    • Disappointed
Size: Satellite, up to 3,300 sq. ft.
I never expected to be pressured into getting a “plan” for these. They were quite expensive to begin with, but now it seems that without the “plan”, I will have lousy service. I am not happy with them at all. I certainly did not expect to be paying this company for the rest of my life

    • Way worse than the wifi 6 technology
Size: Satellite, up to 3,300 sq. ft.
Absolutely horrible signal strength. Its only fast when you are right beside the router. After 15 ft away, all signal dies and disconnects

    • Easy install, powerful router
Size: Satellite, up to 3,300 sq. ft.
Lots of options. Works great, very easy to set up and optimizes all connections both LAN and wifi within about 15 minutes. Changing wifi routers is never fun but this on was fairly straightforward and simple to upgrade.

    • Run don't walk away from this system!!!!
Size: Satellite, up to 3,300 sq. ft.
Stay FAR FAR AWAY from this system...I have been an Orbi user for a long time, this is my 3rd system. I upgraded to 2GB Fiber, so wanted to also upgrade to Wifi 7. Purchased the 3 pack system and 2 additional satellites. Software and firmware have been incredibly defective. Have had an OPEN ticket with Netgear since 4/17/25, with their engineering team and they are STILL unable to fix the issue and their only solution is that I have to wait for them to figure out how to correct. They said that supply a new hardware product will not address the defect!! It is now 6/21/25 and after more than 2 months of waiting, I've decided to use my Amazon Asurion plan to rid myself of this HORRIBLE mistake (and nearly $5K in to this system). I cannot believe that Netgear released such a horribly designed premium product to its consumers, knowing these defects exist! Stay clear and chose a different brand for your WiFi 7 needs! ... show more
