I had my eye on this Breville Nespresso VertuoPlus for a while and finally jumped when the price dipped a bit, and I’m so glad I did! We’ve used a Nespresso machine for over a decade at home and have come to rely (maybe even depend 😄) on the top-tier coffee quality it delivers. But my office setup had been lacking…until now. This machine is a noticeable upgrade from our older model at home. The motorized head opens and closes smoothly at the touch of a button, giving it a sleek, modern feel. The tall, slender water reservoir can be repositioned to either side, which is incredibly helpful when placing the machine near a wall or in tight spaces. It holds plenty of water (around 40 oz) and looks elegant too. Key Features I Love: Fast Heat-Up: It’s ready to brew in about 25 seconds. I especially like that you can press the brew button as it's warming up, then walk away. it will automatically brew once it reaches temperature. Smart Spent Capsule Disposal: After brewing, just tap the button and the head lifts, dropping the used capsule into a hidden rear bin. The magnetized bin stays firmly in place. Adjustable Drip Tray: Whether it’s a small espresso cup or my oversized heated mug, the drip tray accommodates easily and is simple to clean. Looks Fantastic: I went with the gray version. It looks sharp and is a conversation starter—almost everyone who visits my office comments on how stylish it is! Added Bonuses: It came with a sample pack of Nespresso Vertuo pods, from espresso to large coffee, with a variety of roast levels. Nepresso Vertous Plus machine was easy to set up. It has a water reservoir that rotates on either side or directly behind the tank. It comes with a starter set of pods. Each pod has a coding that determines the amount of water needed for that particular café. The coffee temperature is around 190-195° coming out and is cool enough if you add milk or cream to drink right away. The color and design look good on my countertop. You will need clearance above the machine to fit under your counter because the top lifts up. The machine is heating up because it’s flashing green. It’s ready to go because it’s solid green in about 30 seconds. With a touch on the arm handle, it’ll automatically open or automatically close. The storage container in the back collects all the aluminum used pods. You may either recycle them or toss. A lot of my coffee cups that are smaller at the top than the base still sit on the stand. I thought for sure the stream of coffee would not hit the rim, but it does jet out and works. This machine does not make a mess on my counter. Overall, the taste of a Nespresso coffee pod is unbeatable. Definitely a European style cafe and reminds me of the cafés I would get in France with the foam of the coffee on top.

The first thing I noticed on this model is that is it is extremely quiet when the automatic lid opens and closes and more importantly, brewing coffee. I could say this with some authority since this is my third not of this particular model, but of Nespresso machines. I make a lot of coffee and unfortunately on a lot of these the bearing wears out and then they fail. I usually get about 2 to 3 years out of each machine. So far so good, coffee comes out nice and hot. It’s simple to use. You have to love the one button deal. This unit is definitely small enough to fit on the countertop of most US kitchens. The lid will open and you won’t hit the upper cabinet.

I’d give it zero stars if I could. If you must buy a pod machine stick to keurig. I know this particular model is cheaper but 2 years ago I had a significantly pricier model that conked out after 8 months and I never got around to swapping it out because I was selling my home. Fast forward I caught a sale on this during Black Friday. It’s already broken and needs to be replaced. Mind you I bought a frother and this am and yesterday I wasted a bunch of milk and creamer as I start my foam at the same time as the coffee. This is going back tomorrow and I won’t bother with this brand again. I’ve decided to go with the Bambino as its replacement. If I could afford the Bambino plus I’d get that instead but I can’t wait to replace this thing. Don’t waste the money buying a Nespresso machine

Great machine! I have had several Nespresso machine, from $200 to $600. This was $118, with a some capsules, and since I drink coffee and not latte this machine is much quieter, less expensive, and makes smoother, tastier coffee than any other model I’ve tried. It’s also smaller and lighter (so can take on vacation), it locks automatically and looks cooler.

I bought this to replace a Vertuo Pop+ that I was giving me issues with spilling grounds in my cups and not puncturing the pods well enough. This VertuoPlus fixes all the problems I was having plus some. The semi-automatic opening and closing of the VertuoPlus is a big improvement over the manual opening, closing and latching of the Pop+, and I’ve had no problems with pods not seated well within the unit. After 3 weeks of use, I’ve also had no problems with nasty grounds at the bottom of my cup. And the lid on the reservoir of the VertuoPlus is actually tight enough to seal it closed, rather than just sitting on top of the reservoir like it did on the Pop+. I’ve also noticed that coffee actually tastes better from the VertuoPlus. I tried a sampler pack of flavored coffees that I could barely tell apart when brewed in the Pop+. In the VertuoPlus, the flavors are more noticeable and distinct. I only have two minor quibbles with the VertuoPlus: the spout drips a bit more when it’s done brewing than the Pop+ did, and the vibration of the unit causes cups to gradually slide away from the unit when resting on the attached platform. I’ve never had a cup fall off the platform but it’s a little unnerving watching the cup creep closer to the edge. The VertuoPlus is still a great unit and worth the extra price over the Pop+.

In comparison to a Keurig, this thing kills the competition with quality. It’s even comparable to actual coffee shop coffee; almost as good. I’m not saving money using this because I wouldn’t go to a coffee shop that often, but it means I have excellent quality whenever I want it. I was trying to drink less coffee/espresso and enjoy it more - this is the perfect tool to achieve that goal. It doesn’t hold much water but it doesn’t need to. It’s easy to use and though it’s only been a day it’s worked perfectly. My espresso didn’t seem very hot, maybe I should use an espresso mug to keep the temperature stable. It’s expensive but I think worth the price if you want high quality coffee drinks.
