I’ve used Nespresso machines in hotel rooms and at friends’ places before, but bringing one into my own home hits completely differently. I bought this during a sale after finally having some room in my budget, and honestly, I wish I had done it sooner. The first thing I made was an iced coffee with the light blue iced pod, and I was shocked at how good it was. I’m an iced Americano person to my core, and this pod tasted so smooth, clean, and perfectly balanced. I didn’t expect to be this impressed, but it honestly felt like a little moment of happiness in my day. The machine itself looks sleek and high end, takes up barely any space, and is incredibly easy to use. No mess, no hassle, and no more last minute Starbucks runs or settling for instant coffee. It already makes my mornings feel more put-together and enjoyable. If I could give this 100 stars, I would. This machine genuinely makes me excited to wake up in the morning. I've been searching for the 'perfect' coffee-maker for some time now, and I have to say, this Nespresso VertuoPlus comes pretty close. We've been using a Keurig for many years now, and while it's certainly convenient and easy-to-use, lately the quality of the coffee has not been good. I can't seem to find any Keurig pods that make decent coffee any more, and even though my Keurig is only about a year old, I was sick of crappy tasting coffee in the mornings. So I bit the bullet and tried the Nespresso VertuoPlus, and it's SO much better than the Keurig--as others mentioned, it's like getting good coffee from a coffee shop. I can make an Americano that tastes virtually identical to what I get at Starbucks or similar shops, and the machine is very easy to use. Even my husband, who is extremely picky about his coffee, was very impressed by the taste, although he thought just the 7.7 oz. pods alone were a bit on the weak side, so has been using a shot of espresso in them which did the trick. The Pros: Relatively low price for the machine; very easy to set up and use; and great tasting coffee. The Cons: Pods are expensive and not widely available in stores; you can find a couple varieties of Starbucks vertuo pods in local stores, but that's about it. They're mostly available on-line via Nespresso or Amazon, and we're talking an average of about $1 a pod. It's also a bit noisy, which doesn't bother me, but may annoy some people. All in all, I'm very happy with this coffee maker, however I've only had it a couple weeks, so I can't attest to its durability. I'll amend my review if I have any problems with it. UPDATE: I've been using this about 6 months now and it's still working well, with decent coffee quality. However, I have to say the descaling process is nuts. The procedure listed in the manual does not work. Had to go to Nespresso website for accurate instructions. Even with the correct procedure, its a ridiculously cumbersome process. Makes a perfect espresso. Got this for my wife to try and save on expensive coffee shop trips. Its extremely easy to use. The machine does all the work. And the espresso is amazing. Its fits nicely on the counter. My wife loves it and so do I.

I have had a keurig for years. I found myself, once a week going to a local coffee shop for a Cappuccino. Then visited a family member who had an Espresso machine and I loved it. However, I began doing extensive research, relying quite a bit on reviews; not just the #of stars but what specifically seemed to work with the machines and what didn’t. I finally decided on the Nespresso Vertuo and I could not be happier. Every cup is perfect. I chose the Vertuo because I can buy pods and have a choice of espresso, double espresso, or 7 oz coffee. I have a separate frother but I really don’t need it. Every cup is so frothy and delicious—hot or iced. That same family member, who couldn’t understand why I didn’t buy his brand (Lavazza with his Keurig sitting next to it) recently visited and when they tried a cup of ‘my’ coffee immediately understood why. I highly recommend it…and it’s coming to our Airbnb for our family Thanksgiving! ... show more

This is perfect for a very good, fast cup of coffee or expresso. So much easier and more efficient than the Breville Expresso Express with Steamer I purchased a couple years ago. Convenient storage of used pods and easy to recycle them. Uses Nepresso Pods only.

Ok, I’ll admit it. I put it off for a long time because these things were so dang expensive when they first came out. Now that they are actually affordable, I went ahead and splurged. I did opt for an open box to trim off some of the cost. Right out of the box it was super easy to set up. Instructions were easy to follow and I was up and brewing in no time. Ran a few cups of plain water through it for the first few runs just to give everything a good rinse. I lightly pressed the open tab and inserted one of the supplied pods, then lightly pushed the tab to close. Once closed, I waited for the steady green ring and it was off to the races!! I pressed the button and waited with anticipation. It started making some noises, sounded like a jet taking off and then voila! a beautiful cup of espresso with a gorgeous foam head on it. From start to finish it took maybe a minute. The flavors I’ve had so far have all been great! I have nothing negative to say about this machine. I’m only pissed I waited so long to get one! ... show more
