Defective

This item was sold by Esquared Trading and did not work, even after several trouble shooting efforts. Machine would not move water from water tank through the machine to make espresso. Item will be returned. Although the item itself appeared to be in new condition once removed from packaging, I suspect it had been previously opened and may not have been brand new, based on the condition of the Nespresso box it came in and the way it was packaged inside (maybe a previously opened and/or returned item?). It was less expensive than other like items on Amazon but I saw nothing elses on the product info to indicate it was not new.

Love the size and dark blue color

I'm a longtime french press coffee maker and this is my first Nespresso machine. After staying at a hotel that had a Nespresso machine, I HAD TO HAVE ONE! The coffee is sooooo much better than regular coffee to me. This machine is wonderful so far. I have no problems with it at all. I love the small size of the Pixie so it takes up less counter space. The dark blue color is gorgeous and subtle - it's very dark so it doesn't really stand out. So happy with this purchase!

Why too loud. It looks nicer woth the metal on side but other than that I’d choose the Mini Essenza over this one. Much quieter. Also instructions weren’t clear so removal of the water container lid can easily break. A tab broke but thankfully it still locks in place. The way to remove is to lift lid and the pull up. The Essenza just clicks in place and is much easier to remove.

Compact, fast, and consistent — great daily espresso with cheaper pods than Vertuo

I’ve had the Nespresso Pixie by De’Longhi for about a month now, and I’m very happy with it so far. It’s compact, fits easily on my counter, and feels more solid than the cheaper plastic Nespresso models I’ve used. From cold, it heats up quickly and pulls an espresso or lungo with one button press. The shots have nice crema and taste the same every time, which is exactly what I want in the morning. Cleanup is simple: used capsules drop into the bin and the water tank is easy to refill. One big plus compared with Vertuo machines is the cost and flexibility of the pods. The Original-line pods this uses are noticeably cheaper, and you’re not locked into a single brand. I’ve picked up multiple boxes of compatible pods at HomeGoods at very affordable prices, which makes my daily espresso habit much easier on the wallet. There are a few downsides. The pump is fairly loud while brewing, so noise-sensitive people might notice it, and the machine only makes espresso and lungo, not full mugs of coffee. I’ve only owned this Pixie for a month, so only time will tell how long it lasts, but I’m hoping it holds up like my Vertuo machine, which has been going strong for over two years. Overall, if you mainly drink espresso or Americanos and want something small, fast, and easy to use with cheaper pods than Vertuo, the Pixie is a great choice.
