It took us a little while to figure out the best way to set it up so it wouldn’t fall, but once we figured it out (put more sand than you think in the bags-if not, a gust of wind will catch the shade and the bags will be dragged and the entire thing can collapse), it provided great shade and it was easy to set up and take down. It doesn’t weigh a lot, so it didn’t add a lot of weight to the millions of other things required for a beach trip. The material is easy to shake sand off of. The reason I took a star off is it has to be set up juuusst right or the next gust of wind collapses it and it took a while to figure it out. I was disappointed in the quality check from Amazon. I ordered a “used, very good”, which in description usually means just original packaging may not be there. Any thing I have ordered in the past with that description has arrived unused. This was obviously used as when we opened the package to check it out, it was sandy and it smelled like the ocean. It arrived packaged in a ups box, so I think it had been returned, packaged by ups and then never inspected by Amazon (the box had obviously not been opened). Please don’t be those people who order something, use it for a trip and then return it! ... show more

I was about to give up on this tent when we didn’t get it right the first day at the beach! So that night we got on YouTube and watched helpful videos! It’s a dream now! The shade is perfect! The tent is not hard to put up but definitely watch some tutorials! Definitely stretch this as tight as you can and fill the bags full!! Then do not put the poles straight up and down but at an angle when you put them in the sand (this was the biggest help). The tent is money well spent! Easy to pack up, lightweight/small and easy to get the sand off! ALSO buy the 2 extra poles! You need 4! ... show more

I just used this for the first time at Padre Island beach where the wind is never below 15 knots. Followed the directions and it went up easily and gave us several hours of shade. I moved the poles a couple of times to adjust for the wind. At the end of the day it stowed easily. We had one of the $279 shade near by. The Nesso out performed it with out the flapping and noise. Great purchase. I brought a scoop from our potting bench and that helped greatly in filling the sand anchors. ... show more

I had a heavy pop up 10 x 10 metal accordian style tent, worked great but very heavy and dug beach cart into sand making pulling crazy tough. This neso tent is light, easy to put up and holds up great in the wind (just pack sand and pull tent taunt when laying it out). Much easier, no worries about lubricating slides and wiping down polls to close tent. It's great and big enough for my wife and our snacks. We can sirens while day at beach and no worries about sun or wind. I'm very happy. Only reason not a 5 star, only 2 poles. It's really all you need at the beach but I like 4 poles. We price ourselves on our beach game - our gear is on point. The neso is a solid add to our setup, and now I feel like we need the chairs, the table… all things neso. Still perfecting my technique, but I love that I can do it easily and on my own, and the kids love filling the bags with sand which is a fun game. My ONLY complaint, the bag already ripped! The drawstring and the bottom both ripped, which is a real bummer because there’s a perfect little cooler built in. Highly recommend, but can I get a new bag please??? ... show more

This (medium size rainbow strip) is the second tent I have purchased. The first one I purchased was the smallest tent in the whale print and I also got the matching chairs. It has been used every weekend for the past 3 months. The bag has not held up and one of the snaps on one chair has broken. No one has gotten burnt under the whale print tent. We were needing more room so I purchased this tent. You will not get the sun protection from this light colored tent you will from the darker print. Several people have gotten burnt while sitting under this one. I wish I would have stayed with a darker print. I still love that this is very light weight to carry and is Super easy to put up and take down.Be mindful of what color you buy. ... show more

Cast a lot of shade. Easy-ish to set up. You really need a sand shovel with it so you can fill up those bags as much as possible. It held up very well on extremely windy days. We fit a round blanket for kids and 5 adult chairs around it (might have fit more but that’s all we needed). I would have given it 5 stars but the bag it came in broke almost immediately. The first day I used it, the seam around the top ripped apart. The second day I used it, the seam at the bottom ripped apart. By the time my weeklong vacation was over, I was going back and forth to the beach with the tent falling out both ends. ... show more

I normally don’t do a reviews but this tent earned one. Great quality material and carry/storage bag is heavier material than you see in any tent or chair bags. It also packs very compact 1/4 size of an umbrella. Such easy setup and amazing shade for the beach. First use was in high winds and the tent held up great. It flopped some but never moved. The key is to fill the sand bags as much as possible and stretch the fabric in a X shape fully. Then add your poles accordingly. You can do some things to help shade according to sun. Move a pole in more to create more of a side flap help block sun from side. I recommend buying the two extra poles easy to have if you need make tent higher around back or sides. All four poles fit easily in storage bag. Taking it down is as easy as setup. 9’ X 9’ seems be a great all around size and can move your poles in more to accommodate size restriction beaches. Best beach or tent item I have ever bought. Will use it with anchors off the beach when shade is needed. ... show more
