  • I feel fancy
Color: Green
This espresso maker came packaged well in a nice, giftable box. Although I'm not gifting it, it's nice to have packaging that isn't just a plain brown cardboard box. This thing has all the bells and whistles, and makes a great cup of espresso. I owned an espresso maker years and years ago, but it didn't have the attached frother nor the dual brewing option. So I'm very happy with this one. I also love the color green. It's my favorite color. And the sort of olive green color of this one is so cute. I love it. It brews well, although a bit noisy in my opinion. But the last one I owned was kind of loud as well. It has 15 bar pressure (industry standard is around 9 bar). The dual spouts allows you to brew two shots at a time. It comes with the frothing pitcher, along with a protafilter, dosing ring, 1 & 2 cup filters, a tamper, a 60 oz water tank, and a coffee spoon. Everything you need to brew espresso right in your own kitchen, and stop paying $5+ for one! ... show more

  • Bulkier than I expected.
Color: Green
The machine does a terrific job getting you a nice cup of coffee in almost no time. The water tank is very larged compared to my previous coffee maker, so, I don't have to worry too much about constant water refills. It's noisy just like my previous coffee maker, but I'm used to the noise so it's not a big deal for me. I was just expecting something quieter because years have passed since my last coffee machine. The milk frother is good, and it's a new thing for me, but I'll get used to it. My other machine used to do it by itself. The thing I liked the most is the possibility to brew a couple of coffees at the same time. Sign me up! ... show more

  • Pretty good machine
Color: Green
The media could not be loaded. We've been using espresso makers of various types and prices for close to 30 years, and are always interested to try a new one and see what a different model is like. Overall, my first impression is that this is a pretty good machine, though if I could I'd give it a 3.5 because I do think it's priced a little high given the compromises. It is a very attractive machine (love the green), and is roughly the same vertical height as our current one, though twice as wide. The toggle switches are a fun touch, and I personally prefer them to color changing LEDs. I've included a photo that shows most of the vertical 'key points' are even the same height, with the big exception of the steam wand. It's truly too low, as shown in the last half of the video. There's no clear reason why, just be aware it becomes a bigger deal once you have a pitcher full of frothed milk. The filter outlets are also quite low so you'll need shot cups or low mugs. You can take off the silver grate to fit a larger mug, but this machine does seem to discharge water into the tray regularly and the mug bottom could get wet. Setup and preparation was very standard, the longest part was running through an entire tank of water - which is actually a great feature. The water tank is quite large, and for us would be 2-3 days of our usual coffees instead of refilling every day. Water heating is very quick, both for startup and switching to steam. Pressure and shot volume vary based on your grind and tamping, so be prepared to experiment until you find the right combination. The video shows our standard espresso grind and a 30# tamp generating about 6 bar of pressure, which resulted in a slightly less flavorful shot. It wasn't bad, just not as good as we know the coffee can be, and I have to wonder if a 20 bar pump would have helped, and made this a better value. Related to this is the placement of the pressure gauge, it really is too low and hard to see for monitoring the effect of changes to the grind & tamp. Finally, while I enjoy the switches and the easy to read time & temp display, there's not enough control over the timing or volume of shots, or if you're pulling a single/double. Being able to adjust these settings would make finding the right grind/tamp/extraction combination just a bit easier. The manual switch is a good candidate for being programmable, since I expect most people will prefer the auto-shutoff of the auto (double shot) switch. ... show more

  • Punches above its weight
Color: Green
There are a few features on this machine that makes me feel like it's on the upper end of a beginners set up. If you can find this with a coupon, there's a ton of value here. First, there's the industry standard 58mm portafilter. Lot's of options out there to accessories and dial in your espresso. I picked up a bottomless portafilter, so that I can create enough clearance for a scale and a larger cup. The pressure solenoid, which releases the latent pressure in the puck after a shot is pulled into the drip tray, is a feature more commonly found on more expensive machines. The temperature screen, which switches to a timer when pulling a shot, is surprisingly helpful. Lastly, the easy to read pressure gauge is indispensable to finding the right grind setting for your beans. If you're just starting your espresso journey, I would very much recommend this machine, and with the money you've saved, spend it on the best grinder you can afford. ... show more

  • Great entry level machine!
Color: Green
I've been a coffee junkie for about 45 years but only recently got into home espresso machines. Has one that had just so high a pressure that the product wasn't good. This 15 bar machine is great for the beginners to get a great press and cup every time. Simple & easy to use, the frother works well and and as a result my wife loves the hearts I pour in her morning cup! If you're looking... get this! Practice a bit and you'll be impressing everyone that make a cup for! PS: this looks GOOD on the counter is NOT too big! ... show more

  • VERY GOOD EXPRESSO MACHINE
Color: Green
This is the 4th expresso machine I have tried and it is the best one I have had. Everything works very well on it. Even the milk frother works very well and with other machines that seems to be always the weak point. But this machine heats up well and builds pressure the same every time. The only negative and this machine is the instructions are alittle confusing. But still a great machine. ... show more
