This is a nice table and feels sturdy. It does not sit against the wall when folded. The bottom sticks out about 6-7". You cannot just connect it to the wall where you want it because you have to use the studs. That means that my table is behind the bathroom door a few inches. Not what I wanted, but I can leave the bathroom door open without it interfering and I only have to close the door a little to extend the table. A trick I used to install the hinges while flat, so I could easily drill and screw the top holes- I wrapped duct tape around where the hinge snaps out, so it wouldn't shoot out at me. I was careful to cut the duct tape off the back of the hinge (against the wall). Once I got the two top screws in, I removed the tape and let the hinge form a diagonal to get to the two lower screw holes. Also, don't drill into the bottom of the table top- just screw in the screws. I thought I was careful, but drilled one hole thru to the top. Also, I wasted a lot of time trying to fold down the table pushing in the round pins. Couldn't get it down that way. Finally, I realized I had to push in the rectangles on each side. That works! It was a tedious install. I pencil marked the studs with a stud finder. Outlined the hinges against the studs and used a level on each hinge. Clearly it wasn't enough or it wouldn't sit out from the wall when folded. (That's my big dog's water pail on the floor.) ... show more

    • The missing instructions
My apartment lacks counterspace, so this was looked at as an alternative. I have a dog kennel in the corner of the kitchen so this was installed above it. As other reviews have said, the screws provided are absolute garbage. I broke three of them trying to attach the brackets to the wall. The instructions aren't great either, but it's just two brackets and a slab of wood. Here's what you need to know: 1) Buy new screws. I used size 6, 2 inch screws. Picked up 8 of them at the local hardware store for $0.20. 2) Install this into studs. It comes with drywall achors but don't kid yourself. There's good weight to just the slab. Use a stud finder and center it up. 3) I found using a laser level the easiest. Set the level and use the stud finder to mark it off at desired height (I went with counter height). 4) Pre-drill holes into the wall studs for the brackets. Start at the top. Using your laser level, you can make sure these are straight up and down. Secure the top ones first, then line up with laser, then drill your lower holes. 5) Once both brackets are up, put the slab on top. Slide it all the way against the wall. Then measure from either side of the bracket (close to the wall) to the edge of the slab on both sides to center it. Do the same measurements from the bracket to the edge on the edge opposite the wall (to ensure they are straight). 6) Pre-drill holes from the bottom. Start closest to the wall. Then had tighten the screws thru the holes with the provided short screws. They seem to work fine for this part. And done! Enjoy the new shelf. ... show more

I absolutely love this folding table, I may even buy another one! It was pretty easy to install and has been very sturdy. I've been using it for a month now, I live in a very small space and it pops up and works great but can be collapsed down completely to be out of the way. It keeps our house looking nice, neat and open while still being very functional when I need it. Two people could sit at it and work or eat (you'd be cozy) or one person can spread out laundry, a laptop and files, whatever you need. Highly recommend! ... show more

I have built and installed A LOT of furniture and this was one of the least pleasant experiences I've had. The screws that are included to wall-mount are so cheap and rubbish that MULTIPLE snapped and a couple I caught before they snapped, but they were severely bent/warped. I drilled pilot holes and the screws were still too weak to go into studs. So, get out your own drywall anchors (bc you know they sent you trash drywall anchors) if you want to use the included screws. The directions. Oh boy. They're in about 20 languages with "broken English" being the closest to my native tongue. One of my favorite parts is that the instructions are how to mount the brackets to the wall, but then nothing. We have 3 sets of screws. One for the wall, one (presumably bc it wasn't in the instructions) for the bracket to attach to the wooden desktop, but what is the third set for (D in the instructions)? We will never know bc it's never mentioned in the instructions. Also, this doesn't fold exactly flush with the wall, so if that's critical, just find something else. I would never buy this again or recommend. ... show more
