bought this as a christmas present for my bf who's birthday falls on christmas - and at the same time, we watched Christmas Story together (old&new) - to which he said, the lamp scene reminded him of his grandpa, so I decided to get it for his birthday. A true gem, and it is cute.

I ordered the Christmas Story Leg Lamp nightlight as a stocking stuffer and took a moment to pull it out of the box and look it over. My first reaction is that it is quite large and sturdy looking. This is definatly not a cheap little novelty toy but something that would be clearly seen when plugged into an outlet. The stand at the base is wide enough to support the weight of the nightlight so it can stand upright on a table or desk if you don't want to plug it in. The tassles on the lampshade are made of quality material and mine show no signs of fraying or unraveling. The on/off switch is cleverly hidden behind the tassles at the top of the leg so it can be easily accessed without detracting from appearence. In all I think this is a wonderful and sturdy product that is well worth the money. ... show more

Purchased this for a white elephant gift exchange. It was a big hit. Everyone loved it! It is made of plastic, so it is NOT fancy and NOT high quality.... but it is cute, it does work (it is an actual night light) and it is a fun gift idea.
