Description

NCM Moscow Plus In a nutshell – This bike is awesome! We kept everything people loved about the highly popular Moscow, and then built an improved and robust Moscow Plus. Most of all, we wanted to offer you a performance packed cycling machine at an unbeatable value. We started with the suspension fork and threw in a customizable 100mm Suntour XCM with preload adjustment and a lock-out option for those steep climbs. But we didn’t stop there because with greater travel comes greater stopping power. The Moscow Plus was also given bigger 180mm rotors and a Tektro hydraulic brakeset to make sure you can stop quickly and smoothly. The 24 speed Shimano drivetrain will give you plenty of range to tackle steep hills and build up speed in flat runs while shifting smoothly. Your shifting system is pretty much bomb proof. But wait, there’s more. We put even more juice into your battery pack for a total of 768wh and we’ve upgraded the display so you have more options, features, and information at the tip of your fingers. Our LCD display is now capable of separating from the button controls for better cockpit design options. Don’t get us wrong, the Moscow is already a high performer, but if you feel like you need a little PLUS in your life, our NCM Moscow Plus has more than enough to satisfy even the hard-core trail blazers. • Wow - fast shipping and nice design
Color: Matte Black Size: 29"
I am 6'1" and I bought the 29" and I think this is the first bike that fits me perfectly! I finally feel like my seating position and my legs can extend comfortably. The seat/saddle is (I think) gel padded and was comfortable for my over 20 mile ride. Shipping: This bike was shipped from Washington state to Florida where I live and arrived in excellent condition. The packaging is very good. In my case - it was delivered via FedEx and required a signature to take delivery. I ordered January 13 and it arrived January 18. So, I am impressed with the shipping. Assembly: It is easy to assemble the bike. You attached the handle bar and the front wheel. There is a plastic piece that goes thru the wheel to protect it during shipping. You can unscrew it and then removes easily. Also there is a spacer in the bike front brake caliper. Remove it - and then the wheel goes right in (remember do not pull the brake lever before inserting the wheel or else you will close the caliper and will have difficulty inserting the wheel). My first ride: After I assembled the bike- I charged the battery. It came mostly charged but I wanted to take a long bike ride and not run out of battery. After the battery was charged - I rode the bike for 26 miles and the battery level barely moved. I mean it did not drop a bar and voltage was still in the 50's. So, I guess I did not need to worry about the a full charge. During my ride - I rode mostly assist level 1 or 2 - but I also tested the other assist levels thru 6 and used the throttle. The trigger shifters work great -and I did not need to make any adjustments. The brakes are spectacular and stop quickly and quietly. The front suspension worked okay for me riding on rough pavement and streets. The ergonomic lock-on Velo grips are so comfortable and remove any strain while using the bike. I will add these same grips to my other bikes. Since on an ebike you go much further - hand strain can become a major issue. These grips remove any worry of nerve damage and works incredibly well. The power assist is interesting. Based on my first ride experience it works like this... >power assist level 0 - no assist you pedal >power assist level 1- motor assist up to around 10 mph - once you reach 10 mph the motor cuts off - drop below 10 mph and the motor get you back up to 10 mph The rest of the power assist modes work similarly but incrementally increase the mph (level 2 - 12 mph; level 3 15 mpg, etc.). So that when you get all way up to power assist level 6 - it assist you up to 20 mpg - and if you drop below it brings you back up to 20 mph. I like this type of assist- I can put it in level 1 or 2 and comfortably use my own power and when I hit an incline or big headwind the bike will help me maintain speed. Since the motor only assist when I need it - I can see that the range of this bike will easily be over 40 miles which is likely my limit on any ride. The other side of this is if you want to ride at 20 mph - you can put the assist level to 6 and basically the bike will do most of the work. Or, you just set the power assist to 0 and use the throttle which goes to 20 mph. The motor will only assist you up to 20-22 mph and will cut off over that speed. It you use throttle only then you can stop pedaling and just maintain 20 mph. I like the motor/controller Das-Kit. The LCD is easy to read and the buttons accurately labeled, well positioned, easy to control and responsive. It is quiet! Incredibly quiet - especially in the lower power assist. In the highest level 6 power assist I can hear the motor, but in lower power assist modes it is very quiet and non-intrusive. The handle bar does not have a lot of room. The trigger shifters, brakes, bell, throttle control, LCD display, and reflector do not leave a lot of room. I was able to add a phone holder between the bell and the LCD but it is tight. I will probably remove the reflector. So, that I can add a headlight. Excellent customer service: I contacted the company on 2 occasions. Once before I purchased the bike - I web chatted with Leon Cycles (the bike seller) and asked questions about the bike rack and fenders. And a 2nd time after buying the bike. In both cases - the NCM person helping me was quick to respond and helpful and nice! This company is for real and is not a couple of guys just buying bikes from China. I am really impressed with the service and a big thanks for your help at Leon Cycles! Overall - the NCM Moscow 29" plus is a great value. The bike rides nice, has good components, a very good controller/LCD/motor, and excellent customers service! The price is incredibly low - and I expect as the bike becomes more well known- it may rise in price. Right now - this bike is incredible bargain and the best buy I could find for a class 2 electric bike. I am not affiliated with the seller, and have not received payment or any consideration for this review- I am just a satisfied customer. January 26 update ---- [100 mile update] - 46.8V and 2 of 5 bars remain after my first 100 miles of riding on my initial charge. I used pedal assist 1 or 2 for most of the ride. So, the motor did not kick in unless my speed fell below 10 - 12 mph which accounts for the high 100 miles on one charge. I will try to add a review as I use the bike and give more updates on the range. [Added accessories] - I added a phone holder and headlight. Now I can have my phone on Waze and check my location and nearby traffic. The phone holder fits on the left handlebar. After I removed the reflector on the right handlebar then I was able to add the BV Super Bright (300 Lumens) USB Rechargeable Bike Headlight that I bought on Amazon too. The BV headlight includes a free taillight and I like it works great for riding at night. These are all the accessories that I need to add the handlebars and it all fits. ... show more

  • Amazing Value... But....
Color: Matte White Size: 29"
I've now had the bike just over 2 weeks and have put about 100+ miles on it. I am a road cyclist so comparitevly the Moscow is a beast and very heavy..it certainly feels very solid. I'm 6'3" and 180lbs with a 33" inseam. Initially I was concerned the large wouldn't be large enough, but that is not the case. Once adjusted and fitted with my own seat, the bike is very comfortable. The geometry makes long rides possible and also offers great on road performance. NCM put a lot of thought into where they wanted to spend and save money. First off the group set is budget friendly and something you will likely replace sooner rather than later if you ride a lot. The front fork is also the economy version of forks but certainly gets the job done. Where they spent money is on the motor and battery and as such, the bike feels like a very good value. The motor is strong and can handle some seriously steep terrain, as for the battery, I have personally achieved 40 miles on one charge riding the bike fairly hard and fast. I don't doubt it could reach 60 miles if peddle assist was set to a low number. The stock tires are very good, though I took them off and put on WTB road slicks to increase range and comfort. This combo makes the bike very good at road riding with the occasional dirt road or Sandy surface excursion. The stock tires handle very well off road and will certainly outperform the less than amazing Suntour front fork. So far I am very happy with the purchase. It has gotten me back on a bike since my Multiple Sclerosis took away my stamina and left me questioning if I'd ever ride again. The service from NCM seems to be non existent. I have emailed them with a few questions and have not received a single response which is disappointing considering how great the product is. Hopefully they get a handle on customer service. ... show more

  • Bike dies, you're on your own
Color: Matte Black Size: 29"
Controller died after 8 miles. Seller sent replacement controller(after repeated calls) and pointed me to the nearest bike shop. They refused to work on it. After trying 3 other shops, I proceeded to change it myself. I had to buy a special tool to extract the hub. I spent over 3 hours on the project with my son. Now the bike works again, but the spedometer always shows 0 mph while biking. It is also shutting off for no reason making you lose the electric traction. So here I am: Cannot return the bike since it was unpacked. Cannot use it with full features. Cannot sell it at a loss since is defective. I wish I went shopping locally. ... show more

  • Awesome Bike
Color: Matte White Size: 29"
First, you can't beat the price!! NCM has nailed it down on build quality, the design, and half the price of a comparable bike! A Rep from Leon called me up informed me of the shipping and detailed how complete the bike was (all I had with the provided tools was screw in the pedal's, mount the handlebars, adjust the seat, air up the tires and I was off). The one thing to note in the whole experience as you can surmise is they want someone there for pick up make sure you work closely with the Leon, {shipping company}, and the driver. All three seemed surprised that nothing was noted that I lived in an apartment probably a one-off of miscommunication from amazon on down but everyone was pleasant and it was a great buying experience all the way to the fact of saving thousands on a top-notch bike. UPDATE: 11/14/2019 I received a QAR First Class package to update a screw configuration on the bike and its impact. Coming from Manufacturing myself I get it... BUT the surprising thing is this is the first time an Amazon manufacture has done such a thing with a 'potential problem' if I could give them a extra 1/2-1 stars I would. UPDATE: 10/19/2020 After another year still going strong. Still do not regret the purchase as it is great to get to work (12.3 miles away), in these Covid times. I can turn around and not charge, by why when I can just charge for free at work. ... show more
