Definitely heavy duty and good quality steel shelf rails! My purpose for these was to support the back end of a 1U server that was stupidly made with single screw rack ears on its front left and right side - not at all enough to support its own weight. The company did this because, big surprise, they want you to crank out more money for their custom sliding rail system which is hundreds of dollars. I have two of these servers so I wasn't about to spend so much for 2 sliding rail systems, especially when I didn't need them to slide out either. I found these Navepoint 1U shelf rails for a fraction of the cost and they do exactly what I needed them to! I simply used the two back pieces (the ones with the silver screw holes), racked them into the rear of my equipment rack, slid the server in on top of them from the front, screwed in the front of the server, and done! It sits perfectly in there and is supported well from the back. Now, I had hoped to use the two front pieces, flip them around and install those in the back as well for my second server, HOWEVER, they are too long - 20 inches - to fit in the rack without sticking out the front so, I couldn't use them that way. I had to buy a second set of this item for my other server but, didn't mind at all considering the cost and the money I was saving by going this route (instead of the sliding rail setup) anyway. Overall great item! I'll find a use for the shelf pieces I didn't use!

I am not exceeding the weight limit of 110 lbs, and so these rails have worked great for my use at work. You cannot put anything flush below these, though, as they do hang a few millimeters below the rack level at which they're positioned. You'd want at least a cage-nut-hole of space, or just leave the 1u below them empty. I also don't adjust them ever. I'd love it if they were tool-less, but I'm not honestly prepared to pay the price for a tool-less version.

These rails are very heavily made and are easy to assemble and install. The only issue I had with them is that the screw holes were the wrong distance apart. When mounting this to my rack, I could put screws in the bottom holes or the top holes, but not both. The holes were about 1/8" (half a screw width) too far apart. This means I was only able to put one screw in the front and one screw in the back of each rail. I would not buy these again as they aren't truly 1U and will leave a gap.

Have a sever rack with 20 drives 3.5 works no problem. just due to the size and the server this makes a rack unit above the server not useable if you were trying to utilize every space.

Minor shipping issue which within moments of contacting NavePoint was being fixed. The rails are strong and have a large range of adjustment. I will definitely consider this company for any future orders.

I purchased one of these just to use a support for resting heavier components on while I get them mounted in my rack. I mount these shelves upside down and then slide the heavier component on top of them into place to where I can secure them with their own rack ears. Makes it much more simple to load a 50+ pound rack component into its slot when working by myself.

First the good, the quality of the construction is really well done. They're solidly built; you can feel it when you hold them in your hands. Now for the bad. The bad thing is their weight. Their solid construction gives them some pretty decent weight to them. You wouldn't think so just holding them. I mean, yes they do have some weight, but nothing to terribly bad. However, the weight DOES become an issue because your forearm dies from the lack of leverage and holding them in the air while you fight to get the screws into the cage nuts. Unless you bolt only one half of the side on , then put the other half on and screw them together. Somehow, someway, it would seem if they could've managed to get some form of side mounting design implemented it would help by leaps and bounds. I don't know, maybe this is pretty common. It's just many times, with the way it is now, the screw falls out of the cage nut while you're fighting trying to line up the screw to the cage nut, meanwhile your forearm is dying because the angle you have to kinda hold them in, very tight finger areas between the rack and the mounting ears, etc it becomes quickly frustrating. I'd say installing these is a two person job, one to hold the bracket in place, while the other lines the screw up and puts it in. If not that, than at least put these in before you assemble the cage fully and put it on the wall or if you're not at the very extents of the adjustments, put one half of the side in, the other half, then bolt the two together. I give it a 3 star rating, because they are SOLIDLY built and of very high quality construction, but only three because of the problems trying to mount them. Otherwise it would have been a 5.
