  • good good good
this stuff is great. i was buying nature fuel power beets at my local sam's club but they stopped carrying it. so when i saw i could buy 5lbs vs. 11.5oz for almost $10 more. i thought i would give it a try..it is unflavored. i have to say, it wasn't bad tasting. it did taste like dust. i decided to add flavor like the other brand. i bought the walmart brand great value sugar free pomegranate cherry flavor drink mix. in both the on the go small water bottle packs and the pitcher. i wanted to try it both ways. the pitcher packs make 64oz per pack. i just divided the number of cups in in each. so it takes 8 cups for 64 oz. that is 8 scoops of beet powder in a container mixed dry. 6 packs = 48 scoops of beet powder mix. it tasted better but not as sweet as the nature fuel brand. next i tried the go packs for water bottles. that's 10 packs in a box. i found using the go packs was sweeter. in all i found this brand to be far more potent than the nature fuel brand and i have more than 4 lbs more for the price..it's a bargin. it comes with it's own scoop and that was great. i use it at night before bed with chia seeds and i fall asleep quickly and wake up energized. this is good stuff for post workouts, helps in recovery and boosts that nitric oxide. i would recommend this product and when i run out, i'll reorder again. ... show more

  • Great value...nice bright color.
What a value, 5 lbs of beet powder. The only problem is the packaging, it doesn't want to close, so I had to put it in another bag and pop into the freezer. I remove a small batch in to a smaller storage container. The only other con inherent to the powder is it really likes to clump together. So I have to break up the chunks. But it's a great source of antioxidants and NO. My circulation seems better and I attribute it to this powder. I take it every morning, sometimes I'll add to a fruit smoothie or my watermelon rind juice for an extra boost to my circulation. ... show more

  • Great quality, very good price!
This took a few more days to receive, but it was worth the wait. This is the 4th beet root power I've ordered. It, and one other, are superior, however this is quite a bit less expensive. It's organic, is a beautiful deep color (unlike one other 5# bag I purchased) and tastes wonderful. I'll be sticking with this brand from now on. ... show more

  • Solution to lumpy powder
A good product. One star off for packaging - bag is difficult to access (poofs out beet powder dust) and does not re-seal. I relocated the powder in a large Rubbermaid container with a large tight fitting lid, so scooping out the powder is easy. Several reviews complained about lumps in product. This is NOT due to the powder grind being lumpy, but due to the finely ground powder absorbing moisture. Lumps are inevitable, but after experimenting, there is a SIMPLE, EASY way to overcome the lumps. I use a 24oz glass jar with a screw lid (had sliced peaches in it originally). Beet powder dissolves best in COLD water. I half fill the jar with water, add two teaspoonfuls of powder, stir that in, then fill the jar the rest of the way with water. Place OVERNIGHT in the refrigerator, then gently shake or stir. The beet powder will be completely dissolved - NO LUMPS. Then just drink about a third of the juice direct from the jar for your daily dose. Repeat the process every three days, making beet juice. COLD beet juice has the added benefit of having (to me) the best and least earthy flavor. I find beet powder ruins, or at least overwhelms, the taste of a smoothie, or when mixed with other fruit juice. ... show more

  • Great Value Decent taste No clumps
Truly impressed. Ordered for helping with blood pressure. Originally order a different brand 3 lbs about $6 less. Problem was the delivery date was almost 3 weeks. I canceled the order then ordered this. I was concerned about the large amount and clumps. When I opened the bag NO CLUMPS. At the time I was feeling really tired. I wanted to try some not expecting any immediate results. About an hour or so later I realized I wasn't tired. I tasted the powder directly and was surprised it was slightly sweet. I mixed 1 scoop with 6 ounces of stevia sweetened homemade lemonade in a canning jar. Shaking the jar helps mix better than a spoon. Decent taste. I plan to drink in the morning when I take my vitamins. It's also organic so no GMO's. I store some in a pint canning jar, then seal the rest. This should last over 1 1/2 years, great value. ... show more

  • Great Product - You Need to Transfer to Different Container
- Because other reviews claimed the powder was clumped, upon receipt I first inspected the bag for punctures or tears that would have let moisture in. The bag was intact, so I opened it up. As others have said, the "ziplock" resealable feature was no longer working because the fine powder had encroached on the grooves. So, I transferred all five pounds of powder into two half-gallon Mason jars. - During the transfer, I found a measurement scoop inside. Others have said they didn't get a scoop, but mine was indeed there near the bottom of the bag. This scoop holds 3 grams of powder. (remember to compress the powder into the scoop by pressing against the side of the jar to get repeatable amounts of powder) - A teaspoon measure holds 4 grams of powder. - Powder is very fine and there were no clumps in the entire bag. - Powder has a nice "earthy" and "sweet" taste to it. ... show more
