I am a huge fan of reviews on products. I always read them before I buy anything. This product is sooooooooo AMAZING. I started a very HIGH stressed job last year and ended up gaining 30lbs because of the hours I was working and all of the stress I was under. a few weeks ago I almost quit my job because I couldn't handle the stress anymore and almost felt like I was becoming depressed. I have always been a very positive minded, happy go lucky person, but after a year of my high stressed job I became down, irritable and could not sleep at night. I did a little research and ended up purchasing this along with some Tyrosene. I'm so happy I bought this, it's a miracle to me. I can't believe this is a supplement because it works wonderfully.My stress levels are nearly non existent, I'm not bothered by the things that used to stress me out, I can sleep at night. I even get up every morning to work out and I am starting to shed the lbs i gained. It also really helps with my appetite which is a huge plus for me. I had my husband try this out as well and even he notices a huge difference. For him it took a few days of taking it to notice a difference. I noticed right away. I hadn't been sleeping well at all so the first day I took it, it made me very tired. After taking it for a few days (once in the morning and once in the afternoon) it gives me a relaxed but energized feeling during the day and makes me tired and sleep well at night. I actually had one of my co wokers try this today because she was a little stressed, she called me on her way home and asked me where I got it. lol. Worth every penny. I love this stuff.

I saw a post that went viral on Facebook about a guy who has ADHD and takes this to help. He RAVED about it. He also said how it was good for depression and anxiety. So without talking to a doctor...I decided to buy some for myself. I don't have ADHD but I've been struggling with my emotions and I have trouble falling asleep/waking up every morning. I started these pills 2 weeks ago and I have noticed a HUGE difference in the way I think and feel. It took a couple nights in order for it to kick in and so far I love it. If I don't take it with food, I feel sick to my stomach. The first week, I took a pill in the morning and one at night. I noticed that I feel a little out of it when I take one in the morning and I think that's bc it says these pills might make you sleepy. The second week I switched to taking 2 before bed and I find that is better for me. I actually want to go out of the house and enjoy myself instead of staying home and moping around. I am also extremely shy and I feel that these pills have helped me break out of my sell a little bit as crazy as that sounds. I have been sleeping great at night. I have not gotten any side effects yet. So far, I love these pills.

Since I was a kid I have been put on many anti-psychotics, pills for depression, and mood stabilizers. None of them worked very well and had awful side effects. I'm very sensitive to medications and substances so even low doses would have me feeling awful. I have bipolar type 1 so I need the support of brain regulation in addition to my daily routine and habits, such as making sure I'm sleeping, remembering to eat, and avoiding drugs. I had taken psychedelics to help me out of my depression and through research more about them, I read that they affected the 5-htp receptors of the brain. So I decided to pick these up and I now been taking one capsule every day before bed for six months. I've never felt my mood be so chill! It's been working so well this small little bit of brain support that I wonder how I ever got prescribed such strong medications. I will say that while this has been working for me I am not a dr and cannot recommend you quit medications cold turkey to try this. I had already been off medications for a year when I picked these up. Please check with a dr or at least let them know you are starting this supplement. also, look up drug interactions for this and anything else you are taking. I also think it's funny the comments talking about this not working and it's because if your brain doesn't need it, because it's working fine, then you don't need it! There's no magic cure to feeling good. It's about intentions, habits, addressing your issues (and sometimes you are the issue) and learning.

I tried 5-HTP after a friend recommended it to me, saying it would help me fall asleep without nightmares (which, I get nightmares when I take melatonin). So I stopped by the drugstore on the way home from work and the only type of 5-HTP available was Nature's Bounty. I took it, and didn't notice a change in my sleeping habits really but it REALLY, REALLY helped balance my mood. I'm just peppier with this stuff. Maybe it's all in my head, but I don't dwell on negative thoughts when taking this, when without it I do. After I finished off the bottle I searched online for another brand, something that was vegetarian and maybe higher-end. I thought, why not experiment? It can only get better from here, right? Not so much. I tried a much "higher-end", vegetarian 5-HTP, also 100 mg, that got several rave reviews. But I didn't notice a significant change in my mood while taking it. I just felt down, the way I normally feel when not taking 5-HTP at all. I finally gave up, and ordered Nature's Bounty, which is significantly cheaper when ordering online v. the price my drugstore charges for it. After the first day of taking it again I felt chatty and in a significantly better mood. Maybe all this is in my head, maybe it's the mix of 5-HTP with Valerian root. I don't think it's the vitamins, as I already take a multivitamin on the side. Whatever it is, if you're thinking of taking this product for a mood booster I highly recommend it. I've tried lots of different herbal remedies, including plain Valerian root, Saint John's Wort, etc., and I never noticed a difference and never finished a bottle. I am so thankful I finally tried this product. It has really helped give me a chance to focus on happy thoughts and be the peppy person I used to be :)

We all have bad days but chronic depression is like a bad that that just won't quit. I started taking this after the 2016 election and after a couple of weeks at 100mg/day in the morning I did feel somewhat better. I have continued to take the same dose daily and have felt progressively better. While this is NOT a replacement for antidepressants or therapy, it did help me get out of bed some days and even worked on my partner when he had a particularly bad day at work. Also, it kind of helps with PMS though not as much as self-care. As with any supplement, you should always always ALWAYS check with your doctor, especially if you're on prescription antidepressants/anti-anxiety medication. If you take too much you can develop a condition called serotonin syndrome WHICH CAN BE DEADLY. NEVER EVER exceed the recommended dose!

Took it for 6 months before I realized it was the cause of my heart palpitations at bedtime. All I could hear was my heartbeat in my ears, thought I was on the verge of a heart attack at 40! As soon as I stopped it I was fine again.
