Icky taste that's tolerable, but I don't look forward to taking it. Also caused really bad stomach problems every day I've taken it. Not sure of it's effectiveness on mood since it's only been 5 days, but the stomach pain isn't worth it! Possibly the xylitol? I've used a different brand of 5htp in the past in gummy form from another brand and no issues. Requested a refund and not taking this anymore! Ugh ... show more

I truly believe in the power of 5HTP. The drug industry in this country do not want you to know the power of5htp against depression, mood and sleep quality! I have taken 5HTP for many months already and this item is just OK. I feel like in supplements, you get what you pay for. This brand is a simple regular brand that can be purchased anywhere! I've taken 5HTP for many years to combat the afternoon blues and low energy. I usually take it at lunch time with food and the same was the case for this. This worked well to improve my mood and energy levels, though it is important to note that this is not medication nor for serious problems. It's a supplement which provides the foundations for helping your body produce serotonin. If you can't produce enough serotonin regardless of having the foundation nutrients for it, this won't help you, but it does work for me. In terms of tolerance, this is very easy to take because you chew it. The taste is fine, though xylitol can upset some people's digestion so exercise caution if you're sensitive to it (I am not). I always take supplements with food and never experience stomach distress from it. The only issue with this is that, because it is palatable and designed to be chewed, it isn't the best value. However, for someone who can't swallow tablets, this is a good alternative. ... show more
