  • Wish I had done this a long time ago
Material Type: 3.6GPM 80,000BTU (Indoor) Style: Natural Gas
The media could not be loaded. Recently we needed a new replacement natural gas water heater to for our secondary home out of the country where we are planning to retire in the coming years. After much research and looking around I had it narrowed down to two options and this one went on sale so I went ahead with it right away as the price was very good. I ordered this water heater to replace a very old tankless water heater that was at least ten years old likely even older The old one was failed and had minimal controls and required batteries to run the ignition and regularly failed. I priced a replacement at the local store and they wanted to sell me the same one we already had that had failed for a price higher than this new one. I chose this new heater for many reasons but one of the main reasons was the specified minimum water flow rate was very low, this is ideal as I have very low water pressure and don't want to bother with a Rotoplas tanque or pump right now. The low water pressure caused many issues with the old heater and often shut it down because it would not detect water flow to kick on as well as often shutting down from overheating because of the pressure differential when trying to mix in cold water valve on fixtures to get warm water, meaning you got straight hot water no warm water. These old heaters often have low medium or high flame levels and that's it, nothing in between. I mentioned all of this because this new water heater has fixed these issues as specified in the product page. This heater automatically controls a variable flame depending on the temperature you set it to. So if you set it to 110 the flame will automatically adjust to make the output 110 regardless of the flow rate coming into the heater. This is exactly what I needed for my flow rate being so low. The heater also has very sturdy mounting brackets to affix to the wall. Another feature I loved it it plugs into the wall and has a digital ignition so no more buying D batteries or coming home to a heater that won't ignite due to dead batteries, on top of that the heater has a powered exhaust fan that pushes the exhaust out of the included flue pipe. I also noticed where the exhaust vent comes out on the top there is a one way closing mechanism to open to let exhaust out but then closes when it's off to prevent dust or dirt and other debris from getting back down the vent inside the water heater making it last longer. The power also runs the display and the electronics that control the heater. The settings are intuitive and simple to figure out. It has some presets but I found them to be a bit cooler than I'd like but understand those with elderly or children may like these to reduce the risk of burning. The heater is surprisingly quiet and was easy to install with the easy to follow included instructions doubling as a wall template to show where to set your screws for hanging. The hot water is virtually unlimited and will keep coming as long as you wish so no more waiting between showers and running out before the whole family gets their baths and showers. For something as mundane as an appliance it's quite attractive and looks nice on the wall, it was also pretty heavy which tells me it's well built and the components seem. The 1/2 gas and water hose connectors worked with my existing setup eliminating any hassle of adapters or new hardware. It arrived very well packaged in a sturdy box and a plastic cover, screen film and styrofoam for protection. I'm so happy with this unit and hope it will give me many years of use. I can't believe it fixed so many of the issues caused by my old basic water heater. I plan to purchase another one but in the propane version for a cabin in the desert. ... show more

  • Great Water Heater for an Endless Supply of Hot Water!
Material Type: 7.4GPM 190,000 BTU (Indoor) Style: Natural Gas
Purchased a 7.4GPM 190,000 BTU Indoor model to replace an aging tanked water heater. I have replaced tanked water heaters before and done a little bit of plumbing work and this was an easy install. I would say that the hardest part of the install was just figuring out how I was going to route the pipes solely based on personal preferences. I decided to go with PEX and push-on connectors to keep things easy and tidy and all went pretty smooth. The unit is a nice color and seems to be sturdy. I have had it a few months now and have had no issues with it; the water has had no issues staying warm while multiple devices were using hot water. Do be warned that once lit it is a little loud but I have it in a garage so it doesn't bother us at all, may be something to consider if mounted inside a living area. Seems to be a solid built and quality product! ... show more

  • Easy installation and plenty of hot water
Material Type: 4.3GPM 100,000BTU (Indoor) Style: Propane
I recently upgraded my guest house hot water system to the Ranein Tankless Water Heater (4.3 GPM, 100,000 BTU), and I couldn't be more impressed! Installation was an absolute breeze. I've tackled a fair share of DIY projects, and I anticipated some hurdles with a water heater, but the Ranein unit proved me wrong. What stood out were the helpful inclusions: the water fittings were already installed, saving me time and effort, and it came complete with all the necessary hardware and even the exhaust ducting. The included hanging template was very helpful, ensuring a perfect, level mount on the first try with no guesswork. I had it up and running with no issues whatsoever. Performance-wise, this unit is a powerhouse. The 4.3 GPM and 100,000 BTU capacity mean we have a constant, uninterrupted flow of hot water. If you're in the market for a reliable, high-performance tankless water heater that's genuinely user-friendly from start to finish, I wholeheartedly recommend the Ranein 4.3 GPM, 100,000 BTU model. ... show more

  • Great inexpensive unit
Material Type: 3.6GPM 80,000BTU (Indoor) Style: Propane
Been working great on a 500sqft home, with a shallow well pump. My propane consumption has gone down noticeably. Takes a little longer to hit the tap than a tank. My shallow well pump has low pressure, which can cause issues with the ignition. A faucet opened at 50/50 hot/cold won’t have enough pressure to ignite and heat the water until the well pump turns on and ramps up the pressure into the tankless heater. I knew the minimum pressure stated on the unit prior to purchasing, and was ok with trade offs. ... show more

  • Works Great!
Material Type: 5.3GPM 130,000 BTU (Indoor) Style: Propane
This is replacing my Rinnai that only last a year. This heater delivers hot water faster, and I love the fact that we can manage the temperature vs. the Rinnai model was set at one constant temp. even though it had a display to change the temp. Not as big and bulky and we're just loving the performance of it. Very easy to install and it comes with a connected insulated cable and plug, so it is ready to go, Plug-n-Play! ... show more

  • Works great for our camp house
Material Type: 5.3GPM 130,000 BTU (Outdoor) Style: Natural Gas
I only have it a 4 for the reason of an unknown issue whether it was from the install or the water heater has an issue. The hot water will become cold and you have to wait for the water to heat up again. Is not good when taking showers.

  • Really nice middle of the road model
Material Type: 3.6GPM 80,000BTU (Indoor) Style: Propane
I've tried literally a dozen of different models of on-demand water heaters at many different price points for our farm. The more expensive ones work really well; none of the cheap ones consistently work. I had never heard of this company and it was not the cheapest but I hoped it would be a happy in-between--a little more expensive than the most basic models but more reliable. I am happy to say that it really has worked very well. It is not as good at the $600-$800 models but for $300, it is really good. It will switch off if I change the pressure greatly by suddenly turning the all cold on or something, but far less often than the cheapest models. Overall, it has been very remarkably stable temperature much like the more expensive models. Plus it looks smart! ... show more
