  • Nice water heater
I bought this water heater to save on my electric bill. It made a huge difference. This heater once the water gets hot, you never run out of hot water. Taking a shower is great. I can just stand there and burn my skin or relax my bones and enjoy all this nice heated water. You will not run out of hot water using this unit. I have had it about a year now with no issues. You do need to clean it out every 6 months or so to keep the skill from building up sense I use well water, but is softened first and filtered so it keeps most of the bad stuff out. This is a nice water heater and using LP also helps to cut down on the watts you pay to your utility. ... show more

  • PexUniverse The Worst!!!
First off I never ever leave reviews, only twice have I left good reviews. Pex universe is the absolute worst customer service I have ever come across. Had water heater for year and half , had leak in unit, product is still well under warranty. I need to go through them to initiate return. Happy to pay any shipping. Have not received a single response from them through Amazon portal, tried emailing sales email on store description no response, called the customer service line twice now and the lady I’ve spoke with simply tells me she can’t handle Amazon issues, asked to speak with manager but non are around. I really hope bad things happen to that lady. I’m with out water in my house for 4 days now. Have 2 small children. Absolute worst company. Save your money at all costs. ... show more

  • Simple, efficient, Easy to mount, no floor footprint. No idea on life yet. I found it on Costco but then came back
I hate to give reviews that will help us all with the *primary prolem." (i.e liftime and maintenace concerns). There are a few things it's good to know. Please make sure you have surplus copper/brass fitings and componds or gaskets or even ferrule. We skip that step, Unit is no super heavy but unwieldy - buy your friends a pizza on moving day. Verfiy all parts arein the box, then protect them with your life. PITA to lose one critical fitting near he end of the project. I'm going to use PEX and sharkbiteconnectors, Although there is a FAR better cheaper SS crimp ring, to which you slide the pex on, then crimp the ring. AFAIK, this creates zero leaks. This Takagi appears to have every possible We got the larger heater so we can radiant heat the floor, and maybe walls? ANyway, radiant is the *perfect* way to heat (IMO) but it does require the capitol outlay of ~$160 ... show more

  • ...SET TO AUTO-DESTRUCT IN 364 DAYS...
2 units in a row died on me each when reaching the 1-year anniversary of their respective installs. Takagi in Japanese means "tall tree"; to me: Takagi means "dead duck". I live in Hawaii. My house is 525 feet above sea-level. Outside temperatures range from 65 degrees to 90 degrees. Water temperature here is stable at roughly 75 degrees. I change out to smaller tanks once every 12 days. The propane screens leading into the unit were both clean when inspected. Yet both units died on me at their 1 year anniversary dates. Installed first unit May, 2022 and died April 2023; bought unit 2 April 2023 and died April 2024. Called Takagi and they said it was my source of propane? Huh? I make sure the valves are covered and clean. I make sure coupler is snug. Winter, summer - all the same here. Takagi was supposed to be the Cadillac of tankless heaters. Not for LP installations. They are the Ford Fiestas of tankless heaters in my eyes. Maybe I'll get satisfaction by running both units over with heavy machinery. All in all - NOT HAPPY with TAKAGI LP TANKLESS HEATERS. ... show more

  • Very good value
Our home, when we bought it over a year ago, was all electric except for the kitchen range. The electric bills for the previous home owner were running north of $300 per month. After installing the Takagi tankless water heater and a gas clothes dryer our electric bills now run around $150-$160 per month. This water heater replaced a 40 Gallon and a 50 gallon water heater. It was installed just after we moved in and has not missed a beat since. We have a large tub in the bathroom that we could not use until we got this water heater. Continuous hot water as long as the faucet is turned on. What a concept!! We love it. We recommend it. ... show more
