  • Temperature control is great
Color: White
I used this to replace the last point of use water heater I installed. The first one did not have adjustable temperature control and the water would get up to 150 degrees depending up the flow rate. This one works much better. It has adjustable temperature control and is temperature regulated depending up on flow too. I have it installed on the hot water line to our upstairs bathroom under the sinks which are 2-1/2 stories above the water heater. Now we have hot water in about 7-8 seconds and when the hot water gets from the basement to the upstairs, this water heater goes into standby mode. I have this one set at 110 degrees; the basement water heater is set at 125 degrees. ... show more

  • Works well
Color: White
What I wanted was a small point of use water heater that would not overheat the water. This product has met my expectations. My house hot water tank is about 40 (pipe)feet from the kitchen. It takes over 1 minute of running the hot water to get the hot water to the sink. I installed the heater in the riser hot water line of my kitchen sink faucet. IMPORTANT: USE ONLY A GFCI CIRCUIT BREAKER to power this device. Now installed, it now takes about 2-3 seconds for the water to "start feeling warmer" and about 10-15 seconds to be at 110 degrees. More importantly, when the 130 degree house hot water finally reaches this unit, it will not overheat the water coming out the faucet. The hot water coming out your faucet will eventually be at your house hot water temperature. It's also important to know that the colder your input water, the lower the temperature will be AND/OR, the higher the water flow, the lower the temperature. Our winter cold water is about 65 degrees normally. This little unit can supply 107 degree water at full flow, within 30 seconds or so. Eventually, 120 degrees after about 1 minute at full flow. It won't work miracles. If you have really cold water, don't expect the flow rate to be high to get warm water. You'll have to get a higher wattage unit. If your water is cold, you'll probably want to go with a small hot water tank instead of a tankless. The unit will reduce it's power draw as the input water temperature increases. I've proved this with an ampmeter at the power panel. Initially, it draws about 23-25 amps, then reduces until no extra heating (power) is necessary. Like all tankless hot water heaters, it suffers from the same drawbacks. A "trickle" of water will not activate the heating element and you'll have cold water gaps when used frequently. It is small and looks well built. It should fit under most kitchen sink cabinets. This was exactly what I wanted and so far, is working well. Again, ONLY USE A GFCI CIRCUIT BREAKER to power this unit. ... show more

  • Flow control failed after 2 years
Color: Black
I've had this about 2 years and last month it started to heat intermittently. evidently over time, the flow meter can get clogged and the unit will not heat if there is no flow. after some back and forth with support, i found the product had been modified so you are no longer able to remove the flow meter to clean it. the manual was not updated to say you could no longer clean the flow meter. So expect over time, the flow meter will become clogged and the unit will be useless. You might be able to backflush it to get it working again, but you'll need to remove the unit to do this. ... show more

  • Throttled flow on the discharge on the unit gives you an even heat distribution
Color: Black
Easy to install. I visited a home a building depot and got all the fittings necessary installed. I have this unit running the entire house and it works perfect. I placed a stop cock on the discharge to control the temperature of the water coming out without having to adjust the thermostat on the unit. Currently I have mines set to 108 degrees f and it works fine. The temperature could be increased alot more but that would be scolding hot and I don't want that. I've been using it for four months now and I've had barely any issues. The only issue I have if power goes it doesn't automatically restart where it left off. You would have to manually restart the unit. Other than that it is a great unit to hold on too. ... show more

  • Reliable and good value for the price
Color: Black
I bought this for tiny house/hunting cabin project. I have a 50Amp RV power hookup and was looking for on demand water heating for sink and shower. Since it may be a few weeks in between visits to the cabin I was shopping for a unit that is 1) Tankless to avoid keeping water in a water heater tank, and 2) On demand and small enough that would not draw too much power. I was looking at both the 5.5kW and 6.5kW model from Ecotouch and decided to go with the 5.5kW. If you are comfortable with the plumbing and able to install a 30amp double pole breaker for the 240V supply the installation is pretty simple. The unit is surprisingly small and simply hangs on the wall. I have the heater below the sink, and shower stall built right next to it so the pipe is very short going to either sink or shower. From testing so far the heater works as advertised. Easy to turn on and adjust the desired temperature, and after selecting temperature the display switches to show current temp in the unit. In my setup the water is pumped from holding tank in the cabin itself so starting temp stays around 65-67 degrees. I keep the unit set at 110 degrees output. The pump is 2.9 GPM max, so with faucet wide open the water gets warm but it does not get to 110 degrees, as expected from the specs. If closing faucet halfway, at approx 1.4 GPM it does easily reach approx. 100 degrees within seconds, and if closing faucet a little below halfway it will reach 110 degrees at constant flow, but of course water flow is lower at that point. Product specs are - 67 deg water will reach 109 deg at 1.2GPM. I may look for a flow regulator to more precisely test flow rate, but seems to be accurate. Results: The hot water supply to sink works great, as described taking the temperature and flow rate limitations into mind. I have seen other reviews that have used for a shower. My shower stall not quite finished but I will test the output once complete, keeping mind this is a small unit and will not achieve the flow rate of my shower at home for the size. It will probably work as expected. ... show more
