Really awesome piece of flat box furniture from Nathan James. I like everything that they like, and it's just a small step above Ikea. However, their instructions with all the cute little "grab a bubbly beverage" / "make sure you have pizza on hand because you're going to need a friend for this" crap could definitely be reduced. The photographs are not as detailed as they need to be, which resulted in needing to disassemble and flip certain boards over a couple of times. The instructions say to not use power tools to assemble, but save yourself the wrist pain and grab an impact driver to help you. Just keep your trigger finger light. ... show more

I’m going to preface this review by saying I have worked in home decor for over 15 years for three of the top retail brands. I have one of a kind pieces in my house and pieces that should be in museums. I don’t say this to brag, but to establish that I know Finn-Juhl from Wayfair. To be clear, I went into this purchase, for my painting studio, with Wayfair expectations, it only had to look nice from a distance, hold paint, and not fall down. First thing I noticed when it was dropped off was that it had another mailing label in the side with a UPS sticker on the side. I didn’t think much of it at the time. Once opened I noticed one of the running boards for underneath was badly cracked. I almost didn’t start the assembly but based on a glance at the instructions I felt I could make it work and it would be hidden in the back. Again, Wayfair expectations. Once I started laying out pieces I noticed that the hardware packets had been torn open and one of the magnet clasps was already attached to the door. This and a variety of damaged corners and already threaded holes clearly showed me the fact that this particular piece had been previously assembled, taken apart and put back in the box. This is my criticism Amazon, do not ship a previously assembled product to a new customer. Retail 101. Bare minimum any other retailer would call this an open box return or send to their outlet/warehouse sale. I decided to go forward assembling just as an experiment to see if it could be done and to possibly find out where the previous person stopped. The instructions said 70 minutes, it took me 80. I went slow to make sure it actually went together and the fact that all of the hardware was not in correct packages, or packages at all, it was almost impossible to figure out what screws went where. I made it to the end, there was one peg that the previous assembler broke off while assembling and three missing screws. Given the running boards it looks like they made it about 90% of the way through, probably either cracking the running board or only realizing it was cracked after getting the whole way through. Seriously though, Amazon, inspect your returns. Some feedback on the product itself, the assembly was fine, the directions were unclear at points about which direction the item you are on should be facing, and at one point towards the end they tell you to flip it over essentially twice unnecessarily, I took them out of order and it was fine. I have also done this assembly song and dance a thousand times over so I could figure it out but if I was a college kid in a dorm this would be a fail. Seriously Ikea has perfected the assembly of flat pack shipping. It should not be hard for everyone else. The legs are wood but wrapped in a printed vinyl to match the rest of the wood finish. Come on, Ikea can also stain solid wood legs on the cheap, this is just a weird design call. Assembled it was solid. It fit where I wanted it and it doesn’t look horrible. (After some glue and filler on one corner) If you are a college kid or just need something cheap for filler, and Ikea doesn’t have what you need go for it. But like I said, Amazon dropped the customer service ball here. ... show more

Have a very long wall - that is in the process of becoming a Gallery Wall of artwork. Could not find a piece (or pieces) that fit my aesthetic & needs for functionality. SUPER happy with these. I would have liked them to be slightly taller (just a wish list item, description was accurate!) 5/5 recommend. Purchased this console for our entryway. I gave it a 3 for ease of assembly because the directions were mostly illustrations, which lead to some confusion and putting some parts in backwards or upside down and then having to undo and reverse and assemble again. Took me about 2.5 hrs total. Key tip is to pay attention to when the doors get put on and also make sure the small holes in the back panels line up (and white side of panels facing forward) before you put the top on. All parts were present and in good condition. Mostly good quality and solid material although the legs are some sort of plastic wood-looking substance (only obvious when you touch them) and the back panels are really flimsy (but look fine once attached with screws). Overall very pleased with the purchase for the price and how it looks. Would recommend it. ... show more

This cabinet looks so good now that it's up but oh my god was it a pain to put together! The instructions are very tongue in cheek which leads you into thinking they'd be really simple ... No! About halfway into the instructions they omit crucial details in their pictures and have you assemble things out of order. I was stuck unscrewing and reattaching pieces for the latter half of the build because the instructions would have no written prompts and the picture was incredibly vague. When I wanted more detail in a step the instructions usually would be like "Phew! Almost done :)" and then not elaborate. I'm glad I've been building other furniture for my apartment because otherwise I'd be totally lost. Not beginner friendly. If you can struggle through these awful instructions then you'll get a very stylish cabinet. ... show more

One of them said “you’re almost there order your doordash” another said “no doordash? maybe pizza!” They were all stupid comments like that rather than actual explanations of what I should be doing. I love this table. I’ll start with the cons first and then move to the positives. Cons: I think this is everyone’s main complaint. The assembly instructions are pretty crappy it’s just images, granted I was able to get it together with just that. There may be a pdf you can download I’m not aware of. There was one chip on one of the shelves from delivery I suppose but you can’t even see it and I’m pretty sure it’s in a spot that’s hidden Pros: It’s very sturdy! This is the sturdiest piece of furniture I’ve ever put together off of Amazon It looks great! We are using this as like a music table for our record player and it really matches the vibe we’re going for. All in all I’m very satisfied with this product and would highly reccomend. ... show more
