Pleasantly surprised with how well this works. We need a gate to keep our dog upstairs so he doesn't eat the cat food that is downstairs. This gate is one of the only ones available that fit our narrow doorframe. I was skeptical but ended up being pleasantly surprised at how great it is. We've had it up for months and it has stayed put, we haven't had to tighten it or adjust it at all. The cat can come and go as she pleases and the dog is stuck upstairs :)

We purchased this gate for our bunny. Perfect fit to our opening of 47.5". Unfortunately, the spacing of the bars would allow small animals to pass through but definitely not for a baby/child if one were to try. Now to find wire mesh to block. The sides do not need to be drilled into the wall. The animal door slides easily up and down with lock. The door lock easy to handle for an adult/grown up child. The second pic is the gate measurements we purchased.

If you know exactly what size you'll need, get one of these Fairy Baby ones. If you may move the gate to other door ways, get one with a wider range of sizes. The ones with a wider range will come with multiple add on sections for different widths. These are a standard fence/gate size with additional adjustments made with the pressure screws on the ends. I have 4 various baby gates for dog exclusion zones. Fairybaby narrow gate with cat door, fairy baby 65 inch gate with cat door, Munchkin 35-45 gate, and a Carlson step over (trip over) gate. The pressure gates are the best. They are all pretty solid, well made, and don't damage wooden door frames. Pretty good on dry wall too. This Fairy baby gate came with big squishy wall cups, which are great for the top pressure feet, but not good for the bottom ones. It's better to get rectangular cups with a flat edge so your gate can sit on or near the floor. Also came with stumble guard for the stumble bums in your house. There are two sliding tracks to hold the connecting sections straight. Put those on first. Also resist the urge to cut the zip tip that holds the gate closed before installation. Even though there is a thick zip tie and giant tag that says "do not cut until after installation," I have cut it every.single.time. Little awkward to set up, but solid and sturdy once in place. Can keep 80lb labradors out of cat food. The bottom latch holds really well, which you open by lifting the gate slightly. The top latch needs to squeeze the handle and thumb latch at the same time. Since we don't have kids, we don't tighten the top latch so it's easier to open and close. My only criticism is that the cat gate could be taller. Kitties need to duck to skooch through, which is a little harder on older kitties.

I purchased the smallest size because my doorway is 24 ½”. The pressure bolts are too long to go fully into the frame. The minimum size doorway it would fit would be 25 ½”. I had to cut the bolts down so the would fit against the frame. Once I did that every fit great. Not everyone will have the tools to do this so I have to drop the star rating.
