I like to drink lime juice blended with water as a hot tea (of sorts) which I want to be precisely at 170F when I drink it. It's way cheaper than tea, at less than $.03/cents lime juice per 12 oz cup, and it's much healthier for me during my weight loss journey than coffee or black tea which I find essentially impossible to drink without whole milk -- which can really add up in terms of fats and calories. So I make a full pot of this and set the hold temp in the morning and whenever I have a craving for coffee (after my one cup first thing) I instead pour a cup of this brew, and it's always just the right temp, and the flavor is consistent and not expensive and "no need to squeeze" teabags with their drips and strings, brewing times, etc. I wouldn't feel comfortable making this "citric hot juice" in a metal boiler, so I appreciate this is made with high quality borosilicate glass (smell free, or "inert" and made from a single formed piece so no leaks and with a nicely formed spout). The buttons and instructions are simple and intuitive and the beeps are quiet, thankfully. I just set the desired temp, hit the power button to begin heating and when I hear the beep for end of the heating cycle, I have 10 minutes to press the "Hold" button for the 6 hours max (in my use case). Any time during the six hour countdown time I can press Hold again and it resets the countdown clock for another 6 hours (so I don't have to wait for it to go to zero to bring it back to six hours). My primary motive in buying this was to make it possible to reach my goal of drinking a gallon of water a day with no sugar or dairy products or caffeine -- and no expensive tea bags -- but in a way that disguises the metallic flavor of my local drinking water, which comes from underground aquifers and tastes nowhere near as good as the mountain spring water I'm used to in years past. At least with this I get that slightly sour fruity taste to mask the other "flavors" from the earth (heavy metals, unfortunately), and a bit of vitamins and minerals that are good for various health benefits, helping prevent kidney stones among them. And when I get tired of lime I can try the brewing insert for diced fresh grapefruit or lemons or oranges -- and of course many other alternatives, too (including loose teas). I still have another water boiler for regular water. But this is now my dedicated "hot juice" boiler and I appreciate that it's well made, and it helps me save money giving me the lowest cost, hot beverage that is health, easy and "always on" (for at least six hours at a time). And I can leave it filled and dump back any leftovers for reheating. A welcome addition to my “healthy habits” routine.

Boils quickly and is better quality than expected except the handle is a bit loose. Not a big deal but wonder how it will hold up? Makes excellent tea after the initial boil and cleanup process. Easy to use and silence the loud beep (trust me) and holds temp well but you cannot change to °C which is odd. Controls are simple and so far good!

Versatile little kettle that is simple to use. I have been enjoying tea so much more! Easy to clean and easy to use and flexible with holding temps, etc. Functional with its little insert. I appreciate the auto shut off and the temp monitor telling you how close you are to your goal temp. The thick cord is not too long, but not short at all. It is also very elegant looking. I do wish it had some sort of gripping material on the bottom, as it slides on my wooden table. I am purchasing a small silicone gripping mat to rectify that situation, but figured I'd mention it. I recommend it!

I give this 4.5. I use this to heat water to 165 for making formula (this is the best temp to preserve nutrients). It’s an amazing device with impressive features for the price. The only downside is so of the materials feel cheap. Some of the plastics and rubber could’ve been made just a little thicker and this thing would’ve been perfect. Still very happy with this purchase, I hope it lasts a long time.

I really wanted to like this Narcissus electric kettle, but the quality turned out to be very disappointing. After only about three months of normal use, the screw on the lid fell off, making the lid loose and unsafe when pouring hot water. For a kettle at this price, this kind of durability issue is unacceptable. It still heats water well, but the build quality is clearly not reliable. I expected something that would last, not fall apart so quickly. Very disappointed and would not buy again.

I got this to replace a kettle with the basket that attached to the lid...the lid had plastic holders and they broke. This design is so much better! And it can keep it warm for hours so I dont have to transfer the tea to a carafe. Love it!
