A 3-month free trial of the Sleep Insights plan is included with purchase and can be canceled at any time before auto-renewal. Can I turn off the display screen at night? Absolutely. The 8” Home Display features an auto-dim mode and a "Background Audio" setting. This allows you to keep the screen dark while still hearing every sound from the nursery, which also extends the battery life for overnight use. Can I still hear my baby without having the app open? Yes, the Nanit app features a “Background Audio” setting. The background sound will continue to play when your screen is off. The default seeing for this feature is turned off. The baby monitor and tablet screen set is fantastic. We spent a while studying baby monitors and evaluated it on network security, functionality, and price, and settled on the Nanit and are happy with our choice. Ordering from Amazon experience was a little frustrating since Amazon inexplicably required a signature for this purchase on my account, but I had my husband order the same item and it didn’t require a signature for his order and we’ve now set it up and been using it for a few days. Baby monitor: Easy to set up, high quality video most of the times, and great night vision Tablet: Really like that Nanit finally has a tablet so I don’t need to check my phone at night and get tempted by everything else on my phone. Tablet just wakes up with a notification when something of note happens (sound, motion, what parameters you set for notification). I do wish that the notification remains around for longer since I check a few seconds after hearing the beep and can’t find the message anymore from the notification pop up. I wish I could keep the notification until I dismiss it, or keep it for 5 min or whatever, whichever is sooner. I also really like the tablet since it enables grandparents to watch the baby and see the monitor while the baby is napping, but not have to create a login / download the app on their phones so they can get a constant feed of the baby at all times of the day. Phone App: Easy to use and intuitive app. I like the sleep score component and like comparing baby’s sleep score to my own sleep score (from my smartwatch) since I’m a data person. Sleep detection: I find some of the awake times detected is very sensitive and sometimes he’s moving around a little in his sleep, so I know that the time Nanit reports he slept underrepresents his sleep slightly. And sometimes, it doesn’t detect when I visit him when he’s in his pack n play since he’s our pack n play opens on the side and when I put him in or tend to him from the side, it doesn’t detect that action more than half the time. It does a good job detecting actions when I tend to him in his bassinet or his crib.

The video quality is INCREDIBLE. I haven’t seen a better baby monitor than this. I love the large screen that I’m able to monitor my baby through. I put it in the kitchen and I can have a clear view of my baby while I’m getting things done. It’s also amazing that you can have it on your phone as well. This product gets a 10/10 from me. I liked it so much that I bought a second one for my toddler who has difficulty falling asleep. I was worried that she’s not getting enough sleep and this baby monitor has been helping me accurately track her sleep. It sends me notifications on my phone and I love the fact that I can check on my kids remotely. Highly recommend getting this. It’s worth it for sure

Overall the best baby monitor for everyday nursery use. Very good video resolution, even at night. Nice to have notifications so you dont need to always monitor the screen. Design is simple and sleek. The camera disconnects sometimes so we need to plug the cable out and back in again to reset but that is most likely our wifi connection issue. The only other con is it is not great for travel because how long it takes to connect to wifi. But for home use we love it and would not choose a different monitor.
