The MYNT3D Super 3D Pen is a hit with users of all ages from hobbyists to children. This product is praised for being easy to use and valuable for enhancing 3D printing projects. Users appreciated the additional feature of the heat-resistant silicone mat for protection. A slight learning curve may be necessary, but once users got past that, they found the product enjoyable to use.

Pros

  • 👍 Great for users of all ages and experience levels
  • 👍 Easy to use with some practice
  • 👍 Additional heat-resistant silicone mat is useful and appreciated
  • 👍 Valuable in enhancing 3D printing projects

Cons

  • 👎 Requires power source, not rechargeable
  • 👎 Comes with a small plastic screwdriver which some users found to be of poor quality
  • 👎 Temperature control is concealed and may be difficult to adjust
  • 👎 Some users experienced initial difficulty in operation

Should I Buy It?

Based on these reviews, the MYNT3D Super 3D Pen appears to be a good buy, especially for those willing to overcome an initial learning curve. It is a particularly good choice for those involved in 3D printing projects of any kind. However, if a portable, rechargeable option is desired, this one might not be the best fit.

  • Quality product that the seller stands behind.
A few years ago, I purchased a different 3-D pen, and had problems with it. I sent it back. A while back, I decided to take a chance on another 3-D pen, so after reading lots of reviews and watching lots of video, I bought the Mynt3D Super 3-D pen. It was extremely easy to learn and use. I made crafty things and I used it to build small characters. I even used it to put together a HO-scale train engine for my train layout, using parts from a couple different engines. I absolutely loved the pen! A few weeks ago, the motor suddenly stopped working. The pen would heat up and the lights would display as normal. I first contacted Amazon, since I bought it through them. The customer service rep I spoke with was very helpful as far as taking information and trying to trouble shoot. However, he was not able to fix it (obviously), so he contacted the manufacturer and completed the warranty information for me. The very next day, I received an email from MNYT3D asking for a little more information. I responded and waited a week or so. Apparently they had responded back and the email must have gone to my junk mail because I missed it. When I emailed back to see if they had received my email with the extra information, they replied that they had, and that they had sent an email asking if my mailing address as listed was still correct. I replied that it was, and less than a week later MYNT3D sent me a brand new product. Not just the pen, but the whole box with the power cord, little tools, and the extra ABS filament. A whole, brand new, unopened box! This is the type of customer service that keeps customers coming back! I very much appreciate their quick response, and their standing behind their product. I emailed to ask if/how they needed me to send the broken unit to them, and they told me I didn't need to send it back. So far, the new pen is working perfectly. When it does eventually wear out, I will not hesitate to order another one from MYNT3D. I've even let others try it out, and they loved it too! As long as this pen keeps working, I'm definitely a satisfied return MYNT3D customer! I highly recommend anyone purchase this pen and give it a try! ... show more

  • Smooth Flow, Easy Controls, and Great for Beginners
MYNT3D Super 3D Pen — Smooth Flow, Easy Controls, and Great for Beginners ⭐ Pros - Consistent filament flow — no sputtering or random gaps while drawing - ABS & PLA compatible — flexible for different project types - Adjustable temperature — helps dial in the perfect melt for each filament - Speed control slider — makes detail work easier and keeps lines clean - Lightweight and comfortable — easy to hold for long sessions without hand fatigue - USB power option — convenient for travel or desk setups ⭐ Cons - No auto‑feed reverse — unloading filament takes a moment - Body gets warm during long use — not hot, but noticeable - Basic starter filament — good for testing, but you’ll want better quality spools ⭐ Real‑Usage Experience The MYNT3D Super 3D Pen performs better than most entry‑level pens. The flow stays smooth, the temperature controls respond quickly, and the speed slider makes a big difference when switching between detail work and filling larger areas. Filament loads easily and rarely jams, and the pen feels comfortable even during longer projects. It’s reliable for repairs, crafting, model building, and letting kids experiment with 3D drawing. ⭐ Bottom Line A dependable, beginner‑friendly 3D pen with smooth flow, easy controls, and solid performance for both ABS and PLA. • I think you need a little bit of talent for this 😂! Some of ya’ll make me jealous!
This 3D pen set looked like sooo much fun, and seemed like a very cool craft, but who knew what me and my kids were getting into. Some of ya’ll make it look so easy, so OK.. $40 it is, but dang, it really is not that easy, and I used to think that I was fairly crafty. Until now that is 😂. My kids got a bit frustrated (they are twin 11 year olds), and some ABS filament got tossed aka wasted, due to mistakes. I think some of you guys are artists here lol, but it’s not the easiest craft I’ve tried. That’s for sure. For the price tag, it’s a bit disappointing. At least over here. I’m sure for more talented people and/or those already experienced in this craft would whole-heartedly disagree, and rightfully so. I can only speak for us! It comes with 3 rolls ABS filament, which doesn’t last a really long time, especially when you have a few kids in tow. Do be careful of that pen tip.. it is VERY hot. Hell, I’m 46 and burnt my pointer finger, ha! I can laugh about it now, but it’s VERY hot, so I advise for complete and total parental supervision, and even heat gloves, to be extra cautious, if you can. But I can see after trying this with my girls, continuing to use this is going to give me a bill. I’ll need more filament shortly, and have nothing lovely to even show for it. The whole premise in cool, but you may find it a bit harder then you may have expected. If not, please divulge your greatest secrets to me.. he, he. We wanted to love this, but.. 3.5 stars for this one! (Must round up to 4.) ⭐️⭐️⭐️+ Maybe practice will help, but it won’t be cheap! I hope this review has somehow been helpful, to someone out there 😆. ... show more

  • Huge hit — order extra filament
I bought this 3D pen for my nephew and he was obsessed with it. It kept him entertained for hours, and he picked up how to use it pretty quickly. It’s fun, creative, and a great way to get kids thinking and building. The pen works well with both ABS and PLA filament and heats up fast. Controls are simple, and it feels sturdy enough to handle regular use. One tip: definitely order extra filament. It goes fast, especially once they get the hang of it and start making bigger projects. Overall, this was a great purchase and an awesome gift. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat. ... show more

  • Amazing Pen until it died in 2 months time.
Loved my pen so so much, bought in march 2025. I use it almost every single day. I make all kinds of things. Mostly i use it to fix my 3d printer prints when i have a fail. Or if they are a complete disaster i recreate them into something else. Then i clean up the model w tools and paint it all up. I have also done many free hand designs with this pen. It is Amazing Right?? 😢😢😢. Until it stopped working last night. I am trying to contact customer service through the company. I can’t through amazon at all. Its obvious past the amazon return window . But has the seller warranty if they do infact get back to me. I would love to use my pen again. I guess if they don’t contact me i will leave the review as is. If they contact me i will update with them hopefully sending me the replacement. If not i guess i have to buy myself the professional version. If i go that route i am guessing i need to try to find a rechargeable one.. pros 🤓🐠can make anything you dream of practice, practice 😄Can be used to repair 3d printer fails 🤓Use it to recycle 3D printer poop and supports and rafts from 3d printer. 💜Can make pretty intricate designs ❤️So much fun I think this is for most ages 6-106 if properly supervised. And if trained to keep fingers off hot end. Cons 🥲 it died after 2-3 months The other slightly annoying thing after not using it after about 60 seconds it goes into a sleep mode. Then you basically push the extrude button to power back on it reheats and you go again. Not a huge deal definitely a safety feature because you could walk away and forget to unplug and catch house on fire. So actually not annoying after all. I do wish it was cordless reachargeable so i wouldnt be stuck to a socket. Lastly Whyyyy Did it die in only 2 months??? Customer service please help a girl out. This is my very first 3d pen i loved it till it died. Enjoy my artwork not perfect but i am still improving and teaching myself new things. So the dragon the supports failed during printing this beautiful dragon for myself . I am not the designer of the original dragon. I found it on makerworld to print for myself for free. That is important to mention. Since it was trash it or remake it w the 3d pen i chose remake. The legs, feet, claws, parts of the wings , and parts of the face are made with the pen. Also i made the cliff myself as well. I used PLA supports and rafts from other projects to help form this rock cliff. Then i attached the dragon to the cliff face with the pen. Then i started reforming legs feet and clawswings and and face. Then i went out and sprayed the entire thing w rustoleum black spray paint. Dry over night. Then i drybrushed all the Metallic paints on then sealed w rustoleum clear coat in satin. I like to clear coat my items. I used all acrylic paints for my painting. Sometimes i use acrylic markers too which makes some items much easier to paint. I haven’t painted the unicorn/Pegasus yet. On her i made the horn, mane, flowy tail, and wings. And the extra designs on body. I may have over done the curl wig on the head. I probably need to trim it back and sand before painting. But hey its fun to play. These are just some of my Frankenstein creations that would have been trashed but i kinda saved them. That’s to the awesome pen. She is from an artist that i subscribed to on Patreon. Once in a while i have a failed print. Again pen why did you have to die ... show more

  • $40 is $40
For $40 it's not bad. I got it because my printer is on the fritz again and I can't afford a new( and better one ) right now so now I have a bunch of filament taking up space. It works fine, basically a 3d printer glue gun. If you're expecting to build things mid air then don't buy it but if you want to doodle 2d objects and combined them then it's not bad. The feeder works, temperature control is responsive, and it feels comfortable. I'd call it the Ender 3 of 3d pens, good place to start but honestly I have a feeling it won't get through a single spool of filament, why, mostly based on reviews, the sounds, and the buttons. It's the definition of "it works well enough" and it does. ... show more
