This bed comes in two boxes and totals around 140lbs between the two. However, everything is clearly labeled, comes with a complete packing list (with extras of almost every small part, just in case) and has detailed pictorial assembly instructions. The instructions are almost exclusively pictorial, so if you are looking for explanations with the pictures, you are largely out of luck. It took me about 4 hours going step by step to put it together from the time I opened the first box until I laid down on it. I purchased the fold up memory foam mattress to go with this and it all fits together splendidly. So far, based on relative ease of assembly, appearance, and how surprisingly sturdy it is, I have to give it 5 full stars. If I come up with some major deficiency down the road, I will try to come back and edit my review, but for now, looks like a great purchase!

Great product if shipper takes extra care. 2 boxes. One is over 150 lbs and huge. It easily gets broken during shipping , especially when the fed ex person weighs less than package. Plan on being home to help delivery arrival, check long parts immediately. When parts do arrive intact, this is a very awesome bed. My 85 year old mother loves it and can now visit. Proper tri fold mattress is key. Assembly took about 5 solid hours. Allow a large workspace. Instructions were great. Extra hardware. Very pleased.

I was impressed with the quality of the CNC hole drilling and assembly instructions. Extremely heavy though. Had to open boxes on front porch to take pieces inside. Everything went well except one knob used to pull out the drawers was either stripped or the screw was too short (Fixed by countersinking the hole on the backside making it a little deeper). I ihink the drawer guides are for temporary use and wouldn't stand up to pushing in and out on a daily basis. The tri-fold mattress that fits in the cavity is comfy but pretty thin (suggest a 1" topper if using it longer than 2-3 nights)

If you have an ounce of handiness in your body, or have put together ikea stuff before, this is NOT hard to assemble at all. I did it all by myself in 3 hrs. And that 3 hrs included making eggs and bacon to have breakfast because I got hungry in the middle of it. Everything fit as it should and it looks nice in the room. Wish it was solid wood but I knew it wasn't by the description and would expect to pay more. Unfortunately, I bought it a day or two before it went on sale for over $100 off. Feels pretty sturdy. I weigh 250 lbs and laid on it with a mattress and didn't feel any flexing or creaking. Using the bed for guests and not regular use.

Bought this for my guest room/office. My handyman put it together. Lots of parts & hardware. But, sooo worth it!! I bought the 6" memory foam mattress. Spend the extra money! It looks great & mattress is comfy. Folds up in the cabinet. I love, love it & my guests will too.

This is probably a great bed, but I can't use it! It doesn't work when the heavy part is on the carpet, because it goes deep inside the carpet and that prevents the moving part from rolling out. In the images of this product they conveniently place the heavy part on the hardwood and then they add the carpet for the moving part. This is a typical misleading marketing. Amazon didn't give me a choice to send it back, only a mailing label for just one box. This bed comes in 2 boxes by the way! It does not say that either.

Excellent bed! If you’re new to assembling furniture, it may take some extra time, but the directions are straightforward and easy to follow. Trifold memory foam mattress (purchased separately) fits easily when filing everything away. The only thing I’d say is to watch out for the middle piece when the bed portion is out flat. It is the front portion when everything is folded up, so sticks out a bit and is an enemy to shins (see last photo for culprit identification).

The instructions are fairly clear. If you like pictures this is the instruction manual for you. It does take awhile to assemble. I have this 75% assembled only to find out one knob to the drawer isn’t reaching the bolt. Like the hole in the board is stripped, so the bolt has nothing to hold onto and won’t reach the knob. One of the tracks for the drawer isn’t manufactured correctly, in turn this is causing issues for the drawer closing properly. Spending $500 to encounter issues that impact the set up of this design isn’t ideal and I’m waiting on a response from the manufacturer to find out what can be done.
