Well, Im doing a project in the backyard and needed a tarp to cover it during a upcoming rain storm. Based on the reviews I decided on this one. Well, that was a mistake. We just opened it up and discovered numerous holes in it and areas where the material was so thin you could almost see through it. See my attached pics. The pics represent different holes. There were others but you get the idea. I realize sometimes products are defective, so maybe I just got one. But this tarp is super thin, not sure it would hold up in any type of wind at all. Product is smaller than stated on packaging. Product is very thin and had some hairline tears in the material. I am only using this item to protect my clothes from dirt, sand, etc at beach. Buy at own risk. Would not recommend.

We needed to move a wood shop out of state and decided to have these tarps delivered to the new site prior to the move. We were aware we would arrive late and needed these tarps to protect the equipment for a week or so as we set the shop back up. We arrived at 1am in wind driven rain to find these thin, flimsy, pin hole filled, nearly transparent tarps waiting for us. I would measure the thickness with a micrometer if I had it with me, but if this tarp is thicker than 2mil I would be shocked. I have a cheap dollar store 3x3 blue tarp and it says 2mil on the package and is identical to this tarp except for the color. Amazon should do something about this false advertising there is no way on earth this tarp is 5mil. Save your money and by another brand, or you will be disappointed. ... show more

Served its purpose. The tarp was good for the price. The brads are solid and the stitching is secure. My only complaint is that it's not as thick as I hoped. I haven't used it very long so we'll see how it holds up. Update 2/10/2020: Tarp does not hold up well. Material faded after just a month of exposure. Tarp developed a rip as material weakened allowing water to seep in. After just a couple months, the tarp no longer serves its purpose. ... show more

We bought this tarp to cover our pool while we had very heavy overhanging branches cut from big oaks and the pool covers were just too much. This tarp withstood these branches and didn't even tear. This was recommended by our roofing company who also uses them.

I was able to see through my fingernail, through the tarp. Absolutely not heavy duty. Not even medium duty. Amazingly thin. The purpose I'm using it for only requires it to hold 6 lbs, evenly distributed, so it got 3 stars because it is still just barely useable to me. I'm not exactly sure how heavy these are supposed to be, but they feel about half as sturdy as what I'm used to or what I expected. I bought them to cover outdoor patio furniture, but they are so light I don't think they would have stayed on regardless how securely I tied them down. I've subsequently used them to protect the inside of my care when picking up dirty items from a home center, and they were fine for that type of application. ... show more
