  • Easy to use and rechargeable
This multi meter has lots of settings, it's digital and can go auto select , it's rechargeable port is where the battery used to go , very handy

  • Jack of all trades, a master of most!
This digital multimeter is more of a set, as it comes with loads of peripherals that are beyond what's considered conventional including: a charging cable, a pair of testing probes, and another probe for taking temperatures, and a soft zippable case. It has a built-in stand that hides a USB-C port that's otherwise inaccessible without being unscrewed with a precision sized screwdriver that isn't included. Multimeters in general do not require a lot of juice so changing or charging batteries in this case, will be infrequent so this doesn't bother me that much. The built-in stand is quite useful since it acts as a third hand especially in frustrating circumstances. It has a thermometer function which I intend to use to measure VRAM of a GPU that lacks temp sensors during a benchmark session to see if I need a better thermal cooling solution. The thermometer probe has some length of wire so I gather you can use it as a meat thermometer if you so wished if that was a concern for you. The device has an "AUTO" mode which is the mode the device defaults to as soon as it's powered on. It's incredibly convenient and applies to most measurements that need to be taken, such as when testing for DC/AC voltage, frequency, continuity, and resistance. You can switch easily to manual mode with a press of a dedicated button too. It has a bright, colored LED screen that has good viewing angles that's also bright enough to be seen outdoors without trouble. Its buttons are clearly marked with bold letters, its manual written by an English speaker, and a friendly UI to please even the technologically challenged. What I like most about this multimeter is its sensitivity/resolution. I was able to quantify the voltage drop on my body when standing on a grounding mat. I wasn't able to do this with conventional, cheap multimeters and now I can thanks to this multimeter. The NCV wireless detection mode was spotty, it worked sometimes but altogether unreliable to be used moving forward. I didn't really need it but I did deduct a point as a result. To conclude, I'm quite impressed with the ease of use, build-quality, and performance of this little digital meter. Furthermore, it's currently on 50% sale at the time of writing which is bonkers for a product of this caliber. I'd highly recommend this to those who are looking for a quality multimeter who also doesn't need NCV detection which I assume are most of you anyways. I rated it 4 out of 5 but it's more close to 4.5. ... show more

  • Very easy to use with many features
For many years I have been using a Triplet Model 630-NS Volt-Ohm-Milliammeter for my electrical measurement needs. While adequate for ordinary use, that VOM is somewhat complicated to use. You need to know what you are measuring and there are seven different scales to select from when measuring ordinary voltages. This new smart meter eliminates all these problems. You don’t have to know if you are connecting to an AC or DC circuit nor do you need to know levels or the polarity. DC readings are displayed as negative numbers when the common input is connected to the positive terminal. AC readings are displayed with red numbers, other readings are white. There is no noticeable delay while this meter auto ranges. In addition, this meter has many functions not available from older VOM devices. It is supplied with a thermocouple to read temperature. The manual does not specify the type of thermocouple so you will need to guess, experiment, or contact the manufacturer if it is ever lost or needs replacement. Because thermocouples measure the difference between two different temperatures, the meter needs to know the temperature at its input terminals. After performing that calculation, it displays the room temperature of the meter in degrees centigrade almost all the time. It has the ability to read capacitance, and without contact tell if a wire is live, or find the hot (non- grounded) wire in an AC circuit. I found the live wire test very sensitive if you can place the meter very close to the wire. It worked on a 12 VAC LED display. However, if you cannot place the meter very close to the live wire it doesn’t work well. I could not trace Romex wiring in my home through the drywall even when it was operating a flat iron. It has a continuity test mode that plays a tone when the test leads detect less than 50 Ohms. The tone is not very loud and could be missed in a noisy environment. It has the ability to display the frequency of an AC signal. I found a test tone application on the internet and connected this meter to my speaker. The frequency readings on the meter were within two LSD digits of the digital setting displayed in the app. It is supplied with a rechargeable battery and a USB type C charging cable. You might expect that there would be a type C connector somewhere on the case for connection to the cable. This is not the case. Actually, you need to remove a Philips screw on the back and remove a display stand foot to reveal the charging port connection (see photo). This fact is not mentioned in any of the five languages in the instruction manual. I compared AC and DC voltage readings from my Triplet meter and this meter. I also measured the resistance of some ¼% tolerance resistors. All types of readings agreed well within the stated accuracy specifications. In short, this is a very easy to use meter with many features and has a good accuracy. I would have no problems recommending this product. It also is supplied with a nice carrying case. ... show more

  • A nice meter for the money
I have several multimeters in my collection and have used them for decades. The thing that first caught my attention with this one was the display. I like the color and contrast of the display. Its easier for me to read than a simple black and gray lcd display. I was also interested in the fact that its rechargeable. No more searching for 9 volt batteries to get a meter back into action. So far it holds a charge pretty well. No complaints in that department. It comes with a decent little carrying case that seems a little thin but I'm not abusing my tools so it should be fine. The test leads are long enough for the type of work I usually use a meter for. It reads accurately so I'm comfortable with that. All in all I'm pleased with this meter. The display and being able to recharge has won me over. ... show more
