Owned this product for a year. Great build quality & all, however, the microphone has a mute switch that may get flicked on accidentally even with a small cover. Mine got flicked on a handful of times before but this last time it flicked on, I forgot the mute switch existed. Only after I had bought a completely new microphone did I remember about this mute switch. The cover for the mute switch does not seem to be affective at preventing accidental flicks on the switch. Some sound frequencies make cracking noises if they're a bit too strong. Did I mention the windscreen foam tends to fall out? Overall, you should only get this if you want the sturdy build quality and already have a better microphone, as the microphone can also be silent with the audio input compared to other microphones. Just a mediocre product overall, pretty disappointing considering it is from Thrustmaster and is labeled as "U.S. Air Force" to seem special. ... show more

Being prior Air Force these headphones had a great appeal to them. My brother and I both got a pair they fit great they’re comfortable. They look like they’re high-quality however, we both have microphone problems. We clean the microphones we’ve cleaned the plugs. We’ve tried different controllers both have the same issues if you get these, don’t worry about the warranty because thrust master won’t replace them or allow you to return them still working with Amazon for a solution biggest waste of money I’ve made so far this year. ... show more

Headset arrived today shipped in the manufacturer's box, which stood up to shipping rather well. The headset itself appears to be well built, and since it is an analog device, did not need a driver install to work. Sound is good and clear, and the mic is almost too sensitive. There is an inline volume control for the mic, as well as a mute button, be aware of this and make sure the mic is unmuted and the volume is up before plugging it in, or Windows 11 may not recognize the mic. The volume control for the earpieces is on the upper left earpiece of the headset. Sound quality is quite acceptable for an analog stereo headset, and my online friends reported that voice over the mic was loud and clear on Discord. This is not an audiophile's headset for music. Now for the bad. The DTS feature did not come with the headset or simple download.. Instead there is a slip in the box with a code to redeem on Microsoft's app store. Microsoft redeemed the code, which turns out to be for a 12 month free trial subscription to the DTS app, with no information on costs of renewal. In addition, Microsoft will not let me download the app at all, instead pushing 365 on me, and putting me in a never ending loop of requiring an email verification code, telling me the code they sent is the wrong code, re-sending, ad infinitum. Don't even bother trying to redeem this code, and buy the headset for a good stereo analog headset with a good mic for flight sims or light to moderate gaming. This is not going to be a good FPS gaming headset compared to a USB digital one. This should not have been sold as a DTS headset if the software is not included in the package with a proper license. ... show more

This is such a disappointing product from Thrustmaster - I really regret not listening to the other reviews that commented on how unfixably low the mic input level is. I'm not sure if it's just poor digital design, or that the mic arm is not long enough to position the mic in front of your mouth...but it's unusable if you want to be heard by people. That all said - decent sound for $100 headphones and extremely comfortable to wear if you're just listening. But overall, I regret this purchase and would not recommend. ... show more

Comfortable but discord bleeds through and the ear cups fall off easy. Use these for flying DCS. Members of discord group can hear my game sounds bleed through like the speakers are also a mic. Can't find the reason.
