The PURHUGO CHEF expresso machine makes for a very competitive choice for someone wanting an affordable, versatile and good looking expresso maker. As a casual drinker, I'm mainly going to be using this for ground coffee or Nespresso pods. It's a bargain at it's current price since it promises 20 bar of pressure though it seems quite noisy during operation. This turned out to be a total upgrade from my K Cup machine and works great all around. It took a bit of time to get used to the water reservoir filling (not top filled but from the side) but it works as intended and does not leak. Another thing I like is the display - it shows useful information like coffee progress, temperature and cup size selection. It's very compact, I'm able tuck in a corner and it's about 50% of the size of my outgoing Keurig machine. Overall, this seems like a great intro expresso machine. While some design decisions seem different from other coffee makers, I found this to be very efficient and the price to be really accessible that it makes it easier to overlook something like a side loading reservoir.

My wife love this coffee maker she had a different espresso machine but she actually likes this one more. Its attachments all work good. Even the attachment that uses the grounds worked really well. Ive haad some that it would always get grounds in it not with this machine.

The media could not be loaded. My year’s old nespresso machine stopped working and this machine seemed to be a good versatile replacement. The idea behind this coffee machine is simple. Works mostly well but has room for improvement. The machine provides different capsule and coffee filter basket holders. Three different holders were supplied - nespresso original, dolce gusto and one with a filter basket for ground coffee. There is a small paper insert for a manual but mostly helped to determine the types of capsules it can accommodate. The coffee maker is easy to put together and straightforward to change the capsule or the holder as desired. The operation is through a set of touch buttons and can be a bit confusing in the beginning since the coffee maker has about a minute start up time when it is warming up the water. But there is no indicator to indicate that it is complete and during that time all the buttons though lit up are unresponsive except the on off button. There are three preset controls for the extract volume and one for temperature. There is a cleaning button as well but that didn’t seem to work for me. The extracts are acceptable, a bit on the weaker side with little or no crema even with the nespresso capsule. The water tank design can be improved since unlike water tanks in other coffee makers this one fills from the side and not from the top as shown in the photo while the max level mark is useful when upright increasing chance of spillage. When the extract is complete I would keep a sponge or paper towel handy to catch some of the water that often remains in the holder. So despite the few quirks and oddities, I will keep the coffee maker for making a quick cup of coffee with my nespresso capsules when needed.

I'm very impressed with this espresso maker because of all of the differen't ways you can make your coffee, so if you run out of prefilled cups that doesn't mean you have to go days without getting your coffee fix in the morning you can just use loose grounds to fill and still get your coffee and it works just as well. There were no grounds floating in my coffee, like when I've tried this process in the past with K-Cup coffee makers, and the cleanup was super easy as well. The machine heats up in no time at all and gives me a perfect espresso every single morning.

You can use this coffee maker with many different pod styles and varieties, and it also gives you lots of options for different kinds of coffee drinks. It has all of the ease of a Keurig but the versatility of 4 different machines. Easy to set up, clean and maintain. We have it in our kitchen for guests to serve themselves the beverage of their choice.
