We’re a family of 4 with a 7-year-old and 6-year-old, and this Shut the Box game has been a really fun addition to our game nights. The rules are super easy to learn—roll the dice, add them up, and flip down the matching tiles. The kids picked it up fast and love trying to “shut the box” before Mom and Dad do. The board feels nice and sturdy, and we appreciate the smooth wood and the felt lining, which helps keep the dice noise down (huge plus with kids!). It’s also a great sneaky way to practice quick math without it feeling like homework. Why 4 stars instead of 5: it’s a simple classic game, so it doesn’t have a lot of variety, but it’s still very entertaining and gets played often in our house. This is such a great game for families. The concept of the game is easy and many younger ages could learn to play this game. For younger children it is also a great way to help them identify numbers and basic addition. Comes with 2 dice and 6 number boards. The quality of the wood on this game is great, no splitting wood or rough areas. The middle is made of a green felt. The colors are so vibrant and eye catching. The size of this board is big enough for a family of six to sit around comfortably. We had such fun for a really simple game. Great value for the money and I would highly recommend for your next game night.

This Shut The Box dice game is a lot of fun and has quickly become a favorite with the kids. It’s easy to learn, plays well with multiple players, and keeps everyone engaged without a lot of setup or complicated rules. It’s a great choice for family game nights or casual play. The wooden board works fine overall, but the construction on some of the boxes isn’t perfectly aligned. It doesn’t impact gameplay, but it’s noticeable from a quality standpoint. Still, the game delivers plenty of enjoyment, and the kids absolutely love it, making it a solid purchase.
