UPDATE~ The vendor saw my review that the shears were great but the screw came and was lost, and they immediately contacted me for a refund or replacement. I received a replacement quickly. Their customer service was fantastic! Thank you so much! HIGHLY recommend this vendor! I loved these shears initially. They were comfortable and easy to use, but after only 3.5 months, they fell apart while I was using them. The center screw came out (no idea when that happened) and now they are useless. I looked all over for the screw pieces but they may have come apart separately and I cannot find either piece nor can I find the warranty period on their shears. Check the center screws to be sure they are tight.

The mechanism that holds the blades together keeps falling apart. It screws on with just a few threads and no matter how much I tighten it, it falls apart after a few cuts. Muller Gardens apparently read my feedback and contacted me and sent new shears. Even though Amazon would only replace after 2 months (I was long past that date), Muller Gardens has a lifetime guarantee. Did not even have to incur the expense of sending the old ones back. Great service!

I bought some pruners from Fiskars last year, and I swear they were made of cheese or something, because after a few weeks the blade was so dented I could barely use them. My rose bushes are not made of steel cable, so I was confused. I bought these from Mueller a few months ago after being pleased with some other home gear from this brand, and they're holding up much better! I assume this is how normal pruners ought to behave. I've been using them all spring and summer, and I haven't noticed any significant damage to the blade. They're easy to hold in my small hands, too, and have a decent locking mechanism.

Edit: The seller reached out almost immediately after my review went live to apologize for my experience and offer remediation. I also realized that the pair I received may have been defective and not indicative of the product as a whole as the end of the bolt was sheared short and the cap of it did not sit flush against the blade. I am therefore bumping the review up a star for the time being until I receive a new pair to test out. (The original review is left intact below) So, I was pretty impressed at first considering I spent $12.50 on these things ($5.00 coupon). They were pretty sharp, cut really easily, and didn't have any problem handling some of the larger 1/2 branches. And then they suddenly started making jagged lopsided cuts. And it was because any time a branch put pressure on the blade during a cut, it would force the blades to separate from each other because the bolt that holds the pruners together is lopsided and created a gap. Annoying, but I broke out my tools and tore the whole thing apart to try to fix it. It's a carriage bolt so it only fits four ways, meaning I could only reduce the gap, not completely eliminate it. I also realized during this that: 1. Tearing these pruners apart really sucks. 2. Tearing these pruners apart is the only way to access the blade for a proper sharpening. I have never had good results using a hand-held sharpener so I prefer a sharpening stone like you use for knives. This pruner will not be easy to sharpen that way. I think I'll end up replacing the bolt and (tab washer?) with a new nut and bolt to make my life easier and take this as a lesson not to cheap out on my next pair of pruners. So, buyer beware. You may get a good pair, or you may buy yourself a whole bunch of work. They'd probably be fine for pruning rosebushes but if you're planning on anything thick like mulberry or lilac you might want to look elsewhere.

I have appreciated the quality blades this company creates for many years. The appreciation was handed down to me from my elders. This little guy is much the same. A small device can do a heck of a lot of work. However, I did notice nicks in my blade after killing several nuisance saplings that were blocking my root garden’s light. These were all pretty small saplings. Some no bigger than many vines. All were appreciatively smaller than a dime. Size should not have been the cause. Yet, I now have obvious nicks in my blade. It works just as well. At this point it’s a matter of when and where do I send it when it needs to be sharpened, not that it’s a problem already. Completely in the good sphere, they fit the shape of my hand very well. I have hyper mobile and arthritic joints and the tension and release on the blade is very comfortable for my hands. I like the straightforward locking mechanism for the blade. I really like the shape of the inplament overall! Now I just need a safe carrier for it
